    Currently running the weber 38 on my 1.6 8v. Very interested in going this route, so nice to see what you've done.

    have just done the same with a 1100 autolite, should have gone 2gc for turbo but should still work for a low boost setup

    Do you know how to get an msd box to work with factory ignition and tach? I have an msd offroad 6 box that I messed with years ago and it was giving me a fluttering tach. I tried the adapter the tech support recommended and it didn't help.
    Thanks for the inspiration. My rust bucket fired up for the first time in 9 years last week.

      Off the top of my head, no but I’ve done it in the past on my first Sammy. Really helped low end torque. It’s a basic hookup that the directions should cover.

    so legit question, was the fuel range better on the EFI than the weber? I've done the 3k swap in the past and on my current rig, i'd only get 17mpg but its also pig rich and finding jets for the chineseium carb isn't super easy either. I've got a 1.6 16v tracker that can donate its engine and harness, but I really like not having the adapter, modified pan, modified oil pickup, special motor mounts, crack prone block... etc. So I'm really thinking rebuild the 1.3 with some forged pistons, sniper EFI and maybe, just maybe a g15 turbo for my daily driver.
    granted, I understand that its not really a thing to translate mileage on a ultra 4 to a street rig, but just from your observations, was it better?

      @@MonkeyWithAWrench as far as MPG goes, I have no idea. Neither was tuned for economy. The sniper has basically infinite adjustability since I’m sure it can be tuned for good MPG. I have a 22 gal fuel cell so the range is amazing. Another option is to use the 1.6 16v top end on a 1.3 block. Petroworks has built these and can help you with it.

    If Holley wants to sell a 'Kit' for the 1.3....not everyone has a milling machine for modifying the intake base plate. Just saying.

    • @ultra4suzukisamurai679
      @ultra4suzukisamurai679  3 місяці тому +2

      It’s not a kit for the samurai, it’s the closest thing that they offer. An adapter plate could be made to adapt it. I chose to modify my intake instead.

    Why did you with the 2gc instead of the 1100 autolite? The 1100 should be more than adequate for less than 10psi boost

      The 2gc small bore was the closest to matching the base shape of the original.

    I have a couple questions.
    1. Did you have to change out the injectors? 2x100lb/hr seems like a lot of fuel for the little 1.3L
    2. Coolant temp sensor, where did you put yours? I have a Canadian market Samurai that didn't have a computer controller carb so I'm trying to see if I need to find another intake.
    3. For fuel lines, did you run all new 3/8" line or were you able to reuse the Samurai hard lines?
    Thanks,

    • @ultra4suzukisamurai679
      @ultra4suzukisamurai679  9 місяців тому +1

      I am running the 100#/hr stock injectors with no issues. I installed the coolant temp sensor right under the thermostat, I can’t remember for sure but I think I drilled an additional hole for it. I didn’t use any original Suzuki fuel lines, I bought a master kit from Holley and it came with all the fuel line I needed. I run a fuel cell to and it was easier to run the new line. Plumbing wise the only thing I added was a Schroeder for testing fuel pressure.

      @chrisrittaler4555 9 місяців тому +1

      @@ultra4suzukisamurai679 thanks for the info! The reason I was asking about the injectors was there is a post on the holley forums where someone was putting the 2GC on their samurai and it wouldn't idle below 1300rpm because the injectors were hitting the minimum duty cycle and it was still too much fuel. They ended up changing to 43#/hr injectors. Do you know what your duty cycle is on idle?
      Good to know about the fuel lines. I have the petroworks 15gallon poly tank so I have to attach to the factory sending unit assembly.
      I'll have to have a closer look at my intake then to see if there's a place I can use. If I have to drill and tap it I'll find a spare to build the setup on.
      Thanks again!

    Is there a crank angle sensor? I’m currently building a 1.6 8 valve with 262 cam for my samurai, I already have a Weber for it but I’d love to do this in the future.

    • @ultra4suzukisamurai679
      @ultra4suzukisamurai679  10 місяців тому

      No crank angle sensor. If you use all stock ignition the sniper only needs a tach signal.

    Looking into doing this with my samurai, running a k03 with a CV carb and its been a struggle tuning the carb for boost. anything special youll need to do to the sniper to get it to run with boost? Some of the documents I've read from Holley dont mention anything about adding boost to the 2gc.

    • @ultra4suzukisamurai679
      @ultra4suzukisamurai679  9 місяців тому

      Most of hollys literature talks about tuning with the hand held display. Once you are into the laptop program a sniper and super sniper use same software. A 2gc can’t “self learn” with boost where a super sniper “can”. Tuning with the hand held is very limited.
