I guess that depends on taste. Most of Kojima's games are extremely well written but borderline cartoonish and long winded with their plots which but itself can be a turn off. I mean 4 had what? 2-3 hours of game and 7 hours of cutsences and it's about a clone and a ninja saving the world for giant robots and a possessed cowboy. That Let's Destroy Metal Gear comic series didn't really change much from the real plot.

Imagine making a fantastic game of war, showing all the pain, casualties and effects of war, bur having to censor any blood and guts. Hideo Kojima had to deal with a lot of rules and censorship thanks to the strictness of Japan. Glad he was able to create this before he left.

    Some info for y’all:
Kaz is the right hand man who runs mother base
The Main Character is Venom Snake i won’t spoil it but there is a twist for his character
Quiet breathes through her skin that is why she is wearing a bikini basically. She also has super human strength and speed
The Blonde Kid is Liquid Snake a clone of Big Boss.
The Man on Fire is someone from MGS3 Snake Eater
The game’s story is basically about revenge for what happened to them in MGSV Ground Zeroes.
    If you plan on playing/watching
The order is: MGS3, MGS Peace Walker, MGSV Ground Zeroes, MGSV Phantom Pain, Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2, MGS1, MGS2, and finally MGS4 Guns of the Patriots. Personally i don’t think you need to watch them in chronological order because that will basically spoil stuff

It's interesting that you spoke Hungarian and watched the MGSV trailer. Speaking different languages is a prominent aspect of MGSV, and Hungarian has a small, but important role in the plot. If you know, you _know._ In any case, I've been a huge fan of the series ever since playing MGS1 back in 1998. It was even one of the games that got me into reviewing. MGSV isn't my favorite game in the series; MGS2 and 3 have more compelling stories, more interesting characters, and better pacing. But the gameplay in MGSV is by far the best. Being able to infiltrate a massive area from multiple angles, with different loadouts, in different lighting and weather conditions is incredible. It would've been amazing to see this game engine used more, but it wasn't meant to be...

@Polymathically Psalm 22 "My God My God why have you forsaken me?.... bulls of bashan surround me they pierce my hands and feet.... they cast lots for my garments... "“He trusts in the Lord,” they say,
      “let the Lord rescue him.(R)
      Let him deliver him,(S)
since he delights(T) in him.” "I am poured out like water" etc like with other passages in the psalms, genesis, (including theophany appearances in the torah) Isaiah, Zechariah, Daniel, Proverbs etc are considered messianic in rabbinic Judaism as the suffering servant messiah Ben Joseph, and to Christianity as Yeshua, Jesus bless you ❤
Edit: To expand on this is of course Isaiah 53 where you have the servant being crushed by God as an offering for sin for others, who dies and sees life and his seed afterwards, who dies with thieves and in a rich man's tomb, and who was despised and rejected, so why there is a common view of two messiahs, Ben yosef and Ben David, one messiah as the suffering servant and another as the conqueror who sets up the kingdom. Isaiah 52 the messiah draws Israel back to himself.
Some fun and sad things are like people would say Jesus didn't exist despite Tacitus, Suetonius, Pliny the younger, Lucian etc and the apostles writings and the successors/church fathers of the apostles/bishops writings and josephus, because "Nazareth doesn't exist" until of course Nazareth was discovered, or another one, "there was no synagogue in capnernaum" until we found it, or Thomas Payne in age of reason "Bible is false because there were no kings during Jesus's time" until we found King Herod Agrippa's coins, or "Jesus wasn't buried in a tomb because crucifixion victims weren't buried in tombs" until we found crucifixion victims with the nails still in tombs in tombs.
More cool things, are Jesus sweating blood in the garden of Gethsemane, this is a real phenomenon called Hematidrosis where death row inmates sweat blood, also another when Jesus is pierced and water and blood come out this actually happens when water builds around the lungs, it confused some early church fathers on the spiritual meaning, but it's a real phenomenon that occurs as well. Many rabbis into gematria etc say there is a curse upon reading Daniel 9 because it says Messiah The Prince must come and bring in eternal righteousness before the destruction of Solomon's temple, no wonder they say that as then if Messiah didn't come before 70 a.d. there is no messiah, those who have divided messiah into two were confused if the messiah would come riding on a donkey or horse, so the two messiahs, as opposed to the jews who believe in Jesus and himself, who state himself and two arrivals. Of course this is why Islam falls quickly because while they call Jesus messiah they don't understand what it means, and Muhammad of course denied the historical fact of Jesus dying by crucifixion (Which besides tacitus mentioning pontius pilate doing it to him, we even have an inscription that was uncovered oh pilate and dates lining up with his time being the procurator/prefect over Jerusalem) besides Muhammad being the total opposite of Jesus, Muhammad had sex with his child bride Aisha who was nine, he beheaded and crucified people, said not to trust jews and Christians, he had Ethiopian slaves and called them raisin heads, he called jews monkeys and rats, he slaughtered villages and the wives of families he killed said you can take them and have sex with them, he got caught having sex with his slave by Aisha and said he would not do it anymore then conveniently "Allah" comes and says it's fine and he can, he's a textbook false prophet, with of course takiyah being they will lie to you about what I said above, Islam is meant to subjugate the world I'd into belief by force, if you don't convert you must pay a tax, if you don't pay it you die. Allah has no love for unbelievers unlike Jesus who loves his enemies and we are meant to love all even to death, I'd write more but youtube doesn't like long messages, with eastern thought eternal universe doesn't fit the mold because and infinite amount of successive events becoming then impossible to have the present, we would never reach today because we would always have a yesterday or event before this moment, an immaterial, spaceless, timeless, mind (agency) bringing space-time into reality, is the best explanation for why anything exists including someone as amazing and as lovely as yourself 😊 So the disciples who say "For we did not follow cleverly devised stories when we told you about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ in power, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty." And "13If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. 14And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is worthless, and so is your faith. 15In that case, we are also exposed as false witnesses about God. For we have testified about God that He raised Christ from the dead, but He did not raise Him if in fact the dead are not raised.
16For if the dead are not raised, then not even Christ has been raised. 17And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. 18Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. 19If our hope in Christ is for this life alone, we are to be pitied more than all men. But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep." Since the witnesses knew whether or not they were lying and knew what it would mean to continue to say he did in fact rise and is the Messiah and God in the flesh then yes I believe them as The Messiah had to come during that time, a mind/agency creating the universe is the best cause for reality, Jesus is the most moral, truthful and charismatic and loving and honest person there is, and the most important and influential, (Buddha said he was still searching for truth, Jesus say, "I am the truth, the way and the life") Jesus gives us love and salvation as a gift without earned merit by us, not working our way to the truth or God or eternal destiny through every other religious and spiritual framework, he loves you and cares so much for you before he created you and wants a living relationship with you here and now not just after you die 😊 There's a million other things to cover that I want to say but this is probably a good stopping point but Jesis wants to remove the shadow in your life and Jesus wants you as you are right now he wants your heart and to live in you and you to know his love personally 😊 I had people prophesy over me very specific things nobody else knew about my past, things I was thinking or experienced even just the day before, Jesus healed me of sleep paralysis I had for years, depression and loneliness, I had a dream of a woman named Heather and a voice telling me their dad had died, a couple days later i meet them and they tell me about how they had just lost their dad that week, I feel God telling me to sit down and close my eyes and I see an outline of someone going to the bathroom very bizarre, then shortly after someone out of the blue asking me to pray for them as they are having trouble going to the bathroom, another was I ask Jesus alone "are you my buddy?" A couple hours later someone contacts me and they say "Yes Jesus is saying yes he is your buddy" another time was I obsessing a little over this blue suit and someone prophecies "I see you in this blue suit" etc, another time I was testing this whole thing and I'm about to be prophecied over and I have my Google notes out I had tried writing out a little story and it was about a fire and forest being burnt down and I ask God to confirm if he wants me to write this and sort of as a test because everything had been scary accurate and the person right after says "God wants you to be his little stick lit ablaze with his love, it may not seem like much but one small flame can burn down a whole forest" 😂 another one was I had this. Surreal vision looking at stars, shortly after someone messages me saying Jesus is looking at a telescope with you saying to you "everything I have is yours even the stars" another one I was in the bathroom asking God for a message for my friend Moses in Nigeria and as I'm leaving the bathroom i freeze in place and go into this bizarre trance like Peter in the book of acts and I see my friend Moses as a child playing with a toy firetruck and Jesus sitting next to him with love, I quickly tell them and they are in shock as they had just thrown away that toy that same day, another time I had gotten a word from God about someone close to me who hadn't accepted Jesus and that they had been praying to God secretly, I told them that and the look on their face was priceless as I had no idea they had been praying to God at all, they were shook 😄 this is only a handful of many a 100 times in just the last 12 months after 5 years of me being born again, there's so many more amazing things that have happened but you are beautiful and desired of God, he is a gentleman and will not force you to choose him or love him but he loves so so much, he's asking you if you will come, he will love you and cherish you everyday of your life, he will never abandon you, I beg you to take a chance and not reject God's love for you, he wants to heal you and you to enjoy a living relationship between you, God bless you so much, Jesus says to come to him for rest your weary soul he is humble and meek and tender and gentle, he loves you so much he knows everything about you, nothing about you is unimportant to him 😭❤❤ If you repent and call on his name you will be saved from hell and Jesus's wrath and judgement for all have sinned!! ❤ For God so loved The World that gave his only begotten son that whoever should believe in him will not perish but have eternal life!! 💙🙌🏻 repent all have sinned and fallen short!!❤️‍🔥❤♥️

Hopefully there are some good cutscene movies for MGS. The series lives rent free in my head. That said, Hideo Kojima absolutely makes sure every game he's made in this series is canonical, the games first came out on consoles from the 1980s, or something like that. Even when MGS1 came out on the PS1, and was probably the first game that everyone got into, Hideo didn't do a soft reboot or anything, he made explicit call backs to the beginning, even as the plot became more intricate.
A lot of people say "play it chronologically", which is fine, I guess, but I prefer it in release order, 1-5, plus the side games, because Hideo obviously was creating new plot as he went along, and the prequels work well as callbacks that create more depth in the older games. It's not a perfect series, but it is pretty cool.

My brother and I went to an anime convention in 2008, and he and I talked about Metal Gear the whole car ride. He wanted to know more about it, because at the time, I was the only person he knew who played it, and I had the reputation of beating 1, 2, and 3 non-violently (where applicable). It was kind of a 'secret achievement' to beat a Metal Gear game non-violently, or with no alerts (not being spotted). Safe to say, I was kind of an expert. The car ride from our town to the con was 6 hours, and I was able to explain MGS 1 and 3 in the SIX HOURS of time we had in the car. That's how complex the story-telling in these games is. I then explained 2 on the car ride back. Explaining MGS4 would have taken the round trip to explain.
You could make a movie just explaining the plot, minus cliff-hangers, red herrings, twists and call-backs without delving into character motivations or any of the five or six deep-rooted military conspiracies woven into the series. Kojima broke the mold on deep and rich story-telling across the entire canon series of Metal Gear Solid. It's not for the faint of heart, because he spares no words on how horrifying and gut-wrenching he sees war as being. It will depress you and scar you, but you will never see anything as amazing as this franchise.

(Modern at the time, mostly still relevant today. Some parts even moreso.)
For maximum ease of playability and understanding of the plot, and minimum surprise spoilers, play the games in real-world order. MGS 1,2,3,4,5. The prequels are actually answering questions left open on purpose in earlier games, and without that shock from the revelation, given on queue, the effect is mostly lost. It's like being told Darth Vader is Luke's father before you even meet Luke Skywalker. The Empire Strikes Back is almost entirely wasted then.

that's what i love about the MGS. even with the more fantastical elements, it's a story about war: what it does to the world, what it does to people, what it does to history and what it does to those who fight those wars. it strips away the glamour of war and shows it in all of its stupidity and ugliness. and at the center of it are solider, men and women fighting for countries that often don't care about them and for governments who use them for their own gains and then tosses them away. then it asks "what is the point of loyalty to your nation when your nation isn't loyal to you?"
that's why solid snake is a gaming icon. not just for the bad ass things he's done but for his growth as a character. he went from a solider who always followed order to a man who, despite being an outlaw, fought for what he believed: making a better world for those who come after him.
hideo kojima isn't heralded as one of, if not the greatest game director of all time for no reason. you wanna know how damn good he is? listen to the final codec conversation in MGS2. and keep in mind, that game came out over 20 years ago.

    • @AdeptusCaeiusIII
      @AdeptusCaeiusIII 2 роки тому

That codec call and the conversation just before the final boss fight (you know the one) shaped the very beginnings of my philosophy on the role of government at a very young age. Of course, as time moves on, things change, and the reasoning becomes more complex and reasoned, but the core belief remains the same. Kojima, in about five minutes of game dialogue, lays out one of the strongest socio-political treatises I've ever heard... As a freakin' PLOT POINT.

The Metal gear series is a very special series that stands on its own it certain ways. The producer and director of the game (Hideo Kojima) has a very cinematic story design in his games that make them more like movies at times. The story telling is phenomenal though, in particular Metal Gear Solid 3 : Snake Eater.
Even some of the themes from Metal gear solid 2 have some very interesting story threads that honestly predicted how digital media is in modern society and this games story talks about it even though it was made back in 2001/2002. I could go on about this series for hours, it’s a shame there may never be another entry in the series but it definitely made its mark on gaming

    • @jtnachos16
      @jtnachos16 2 роки тому +3

It's not that people want politics kept out of video games, it's that they don't want the games to be preachy AF about it. They don't want the preachiness about politics and morals to be all the game has.
MGS is a wonderful example of a game series that handles politics WELL, in that while there is a message, that 'message' isn't the sole content, and rarely if ever feels FORCED down your throat. It feels less like the developers using it as a soapbox, and more like natural character development and ideals, which is ALWAYS how politics should be handled in fiction.

Yay! i remember your last video, when i recommended watching the Red Band one.
Such a coincidence to open youtube and see minutes later you actually did it.
Metal Gear Solid is a Anti-War opera.
This one continues the story of Big Boss, the original "Snake" from Metal Gear Solid 3.
In the previous games he started a paramilitary unit called "Soldiers Without Borders" who helped guerrillas around the globe to stabilize sovereignty in their countries against the Cold War setup.
Metal Gear Peace Walker takes place, if i remember correctly in Nicaragua (i could be wrong.) and is the beginning of Snake, now Big Boss after events from MGS3 when he becomes a absolute World savior from a Nuclear Threat between USSR and USA escalating after the Cuban Missile Crisis. Then he realized he is but a puppet with strings attached in this Theater of Horror.
After he let loose the chains who bounded him to USA, he starts working toward peace, and many many soldiers around the globe flock to his cause, making him as powerful as any nation.
MGS5 happens after a coup that literally exploded his Mother Base, a Deep Ocean Platform from where he sent soldiers to fight around the globe, and his fellow men are being hunted one by one. He wakes up 9 years after helping his friends escape from guantanamo bay (those scenes with the girl having a bomb removed from her chest and etc) and as soon as people realize who they were treating the coma, they realize there's a IMMEDIATE DANGER in the whole hospital. From there you get back on your feet and start rebuilding the largest army in the world, with soldiers again flocking to your cause...but 9 years later, you're not the only Private Army in the 1980's... so, big misteries, amazing gameplay, and a overal very good story, with the ending being "meh" for one reason: Konami at the time had fired Hideo Kojima, the mind behind the story, and finished the game themselves as it was.
Things get very weird and very....improvised? as the final missions starts.
What a truly terrible end for such a Legend (Kojima being kicked from his masterpiece.)
I'd still recommend playing though. Metal Gear has some "monsters and robots" to remind us that even though the game is very serious and overflowing with War and Conflict, its "just a game"...or is it? Maybe its all metaphors, dunno. Ask Kojima on that one, dude is a legend and so is Big Boss, a.k.a. Naked Snake.
Grat video, you guys! have a good Sunday!

There are some really high quality Metal Gear “Movies” on UA-cam which are essentially all the cutscenes with some abridged, skillful gameplay to give you an idea of what’s happening in-between. They could definitely be good reaction material after y’all finish of the DMC series. They honestly even have similar vibes at times, MGS can be very campy and over the top as well.
Hideo Kojima is certainly an interesting guy, I don’t go in much for the auteur theory of creation but he does manage to make his own personal mark on the games he directs. Like a half-naked, mute sniper with superpowers who breathes through her skin, who he definitely didn’t just think was a hot character design and came up with a really half-assed origin for after the fact.

There is also Remake of MGS 1 - it's not bad but some cutscences are too much butchered. They also changed soundtrack for worse.
We also got MGS: Portable Ops - gameplay is awful, cutscences are in comic style (something like in Peace Walker but worse) and game itself is something beetwen canon and non canon, there is only one mention about single thing that happend in this game and it's pretty minor thing. Besides Hideo Kojima was not working on this crap.
I would suggest watching this in release order simply because there is such a huge gap in quality beetwen first MG and MGS V. For a first timer it would feel wrong watching MGS V and then goes straight to MG1 :)

How did I miss this video? So sorry to be so late, but I do have some notes.
Metal Gear Solid 5: Phantom Pain takes place during the Soviet - Afghan war and tells the story of how Big Boss became Big Boss, the main villain of the very first Metal Gear game and the father of the main protagonist of the Solid Snake.
Metal Gear (The franchise as a whole, not just the Solid, Acid, or Rising series) was always themed around peace and pacifism. The player is always rewarded from non-lethal solutions to all battles and it is possible to beat many of the games without killing anyone, including the bosses and main villains.
Metal Gear has gotten more and more political with its themes and stories as time has passed on and it doesn't shy away from the cruelty of war.
As a game, I cannot recommend MGS5 Phantom Pain highly enough. It's not a perfect game by any means, but it is up there with Red Dead Redemption 2.
    Some characters introduced:
Master Miller (A.K.A "Kaz", short for Kazuhira) - Mentor to both Big Boss and Solid Snake (BB's son)
Quiet - A sniper, was literally introduced for fan service, this was her first appearance in the franchise.
"Eli" - Later better known as Liquid Snake, Solid Snake's brother.
Skull Face - Forgettable villain, literally can't remember anything note worthy of him.
Emmerich - Father to Otacon. The Emmerich family is.... weird and tragic. It's filled with a incestuous relationship, deep guilt and broken bonds through death and estrangement. But they are geniuses, almost all of them.
Revolved Ocelot - (Revolver Ocelot, Revolver Ocelot) a little bit of an enigma. Possible traitor, double agent, loyalist, or just playing all sides so he always comes on top? A 'solid' anti-hero.
Code Talker - First appearance in the franchise. A bit of a shaman, works with decryption.
Psycho Mantis - A telepathic and telekinetic savant, another tragic character who lived a life of trauma.
One of these characters did not actually appear in the trailer, but saying more about that would be a massive spoiler.
    Chronology of the games:
1964 Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (First prequel of the series)
1970 Metal Gear Solid - Portable Ops (First game of the series on a portable console)
1974 Metal Gear Solid - Peace Walker
1975 Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes (Demo game for Phantom Pain)
1984 Metal Gear Solid 5: Phantom Pain
1995 Metal Gear (The very first Metal Gear game, released on the MSX console)
1999 Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake
    2005 Metal Gear Solid
2007/2009 Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty
2014 Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
    2018 Metal Gear Rising: Revengence
There is also a non-canonical Metal Gear Acid series, that contains side stories, but exists on its own timeline, separate from the main timeline and is often forgotten.
Some people (Including me) like the hypothesis that all Kojima games, Metal Gear, Snatcher, Policenauts and Zone of the Enders exist in a single timeline.
It is unfortunate that Hideo Kojima had a falling out with Konami before the game was finished, as a result, the game was released with its last chapter just missing.

Chronological order is Metal Gear Solid 3, then Peacewalker, then Metal Gear Solid 5, Metal Gear 1 (not solid), Metal Gear 2 (not solid), Metal Gear Solid 1, Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear Solid 4.
But boy howdy I would not play them like that! Kojima made them knowing what was made before, and knowing it's a spy story, full of lies and double crosses and fake identities. So your questions about what's going on are best answered playing them in release order.
Metal Gear 1,2 (can be skipped if you want) Solid 1 (has a recap of the last 2) Solid 2, Solid 3, Peacewalker, 4, 5.
Problem is with watching it, you have to find someone that included all the conversations and interrogations and radio calls from hq that are in the gameplay rather than just the cutscenes. Half the plot is snake sitting in a dark corner talking to people on the radio while trying to keep from being found.
Chip and Ironicus did do a good let's play of the whole series, but that's like... 250 half hour videos? So probably a bit much.
Problem with watching it is Kojima made the gameplay integral to the setting. Screwing with the controls/visuals/sound at certain points to express ideas and emotions. Doesn't come through in a movie.

Since people already recommended to watch everthing Metal Gear related, with order and whatnots, i have weird suggestion. When the time will come for Metal gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, after watching all proper trailer watch... MGS3 Pachinko cutscenes. Thing is, there were at some point quite a number of slot machines themed around games, and DMC4 and MGS3 in particular were made with astonishing graphic miles ahead of proper game. After whole wave of disappointment and rage subdued, we could all agree, that cutscenes are great. So... yeah, check "Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater Pachinko vs Original HD Collection All Cutscenes Comparison" when the time comes

This gameplay is about as open as you can get. What I mean by that even previous titles you can sneak or go guns blazing or however you want. There's stress to manage in MGSIV and there's other factors such as broken bones in MGS3. However the canon is simple both Solid Snake and Naked Snake(aka Big Boss, aka Punished Snake) have done their missions sneaking around very very quickly and NOT killing. So while the trailers show them killing there's many achievements in the series for doing a pacifist run and saving lives in record times without being spotted. It's actually easier than it sounds because you have tons of tools for the job and not just crawling around. However I've done the crawling around method and it works out fine if you make mental notes of patrol patterns. That being said even when I say it's open there's things you absolutely can not do. Such as killing child soldiers. No Snake will kill children, they will knock them out and carry them off to save them from their imprisonment but that's one thing you might be worried about getting into the game, that you might be forced to kill children...you won't. You can't be a living legend if you are forced to break your principles. And while Solid Snake is regarded as the greatest soldier legend, Naked Snake is extremely close and they are neck and neck.

Sad that this was the last game before Konami lost their minds and fire Kojima so V is probaly going to be the last MGS game that matters. They did come out with Metal Gear Survive but that game, always a good sign when they charge you 10 bucks for a save slot, ah ha he he he 😅😅😅........😥.
I think 3 and 5 are the ones in the past, but it's so far in the past, you can watch the games in order. It's a weird situation, most people picked up the series at Metal Gear Solid but there were 3 games before that, and it is a continuous story so when 3 came around it's more of a let's see how that super evil legendary soldier got the way he is. The problem is he's only referenced in Metal Gear Solid 1 and 2 (the games people played) and was the main bad guy in Metal Gear, Snakes Revenge, and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake (plus the titles don't help: Metal Gear, Snakes Revenge, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake Metal Gear Solid which is really the 4th game in the series)
Even this game, the Phantom Pain is almost a direct prequal to the first Metal Gear game on the nes supposedly.

Eli is the main villain in the MGS franchise as he gets older along with others thats kin to solid snake MGS is a VERY emotional game and full of philosophies, love, romance, loss and tragedy. its more Shakespearean than Shakespear itself and is a cult hit like you wont believe. just like DMC you have to start with different orders to get the chronological story order. you can skip all the little spinoffs the order is as follows MGS3-snake eater/peace walker/ground zeros/phantom pain/MGS1/MGS2/ and finally MGS4- guns of the patriots. i highly recommend watching. Venom snake Bigboss/naked snake and solid snake the main portag, are not the same people you'll find out that all the games and people are all connected in some way shape and form to one another its just one big story so good they're even talking about making a live action movie on it. and what Metal Gear is, is a military weapon of mass destruction that changes models from time to time snake usually has to fight it

This game was incredible... until you realize it's just half of a game. The prologue was sold as Metal Gear ground Zero (no really, it's just the first 4 hours) AND most of the second chapter and ALL of the third and last were cut to rush the game out. So you finish the game on a massive cliffhanger.
Then you do some researsh and realise that the director and creator of the serie was ejected of the project and the game rushed to just come out as it was. (you can still find concept art and even unfinished cinematics of the third act who was gonna talk about those child soldiers way more)
For me, Metal gear solid 4 was the perfect ending to begin with but 5... 5 got axed...

This game is a mess... within without.... in totality. It's literally unfinished and never will be. It is a giant mess that was literally assembled from the fragments of a game that was never going to be completed to begin with, Kojima and Konami were done with each other well before the project hit the halfway mark, and no amount of fan hopes tears and dreams can put it back together again. Imagine game of thrones ends with The Night King with his hands around Aria's throat and that's it. You don't get anything else, regardless of whether you like season 8 (or 6.. or seven) or not.

Too bad they fucked up on the gameplay department in the end. Trying to 100% this game a miserable experience. I really loved mgs 1,2,and 3, but boy it really started to go downhill after 4. The first half of the game is great, but soon the empty open world and the repetitive missions start to get old fast. Otherwise, if you are not concerned about completing it, doing all the side missions with rank s and all that its a great game to get.

For first time the man who act as Snake or the Actor and Voice model is Kiefer Sutherland. The fans at start hate the chage of the voice of Snake cuz every snake have the same voice actor David Hayter. But "a little espoil" is on purpose. Kojima is the master of break the 4th wall on video games. and if you play the game in the final the real final. you get the secret why Snake voice is different. and thats is when i love the game. is a movie. plus every Snake has a code name. this is Punished Snake the others are Solid Snake or Liquid Snake.

Let's be real, at this point it's more of a 150k celebration because at this rate of growth, 150k is inevitable. But hey, why not have a 145k celebration right before a 150k celebration. Drinks all around!
"Red Dead Redemption meets Call of Duty" is probably the most apt way to describe this game in one sentence. Best way to play the games is by release order, not by chronological. The reason is because certain reveals are made in prequels that won't have the same impact if you play them chronologically. So while MGS3 is technically the first part of this story, it is best to still play MGS1 and 2 before it.
    Fair warning before you start:
Metal Gear 1, Metal Gear 2, MGS1, MGS2, and MGS3 are kind of a "first era" for the series. The writer, Hideo Kojima, was motivated and excited to tell this story, which is something of a looping narrative. Metal Gear 1 has you begin the legend that is Solid Snake in which he surpasses his mentor, Big Boss. Metal Gear 2 builds on that legacy, with Metal Gear Solid 1 being the most important mission in Solid Snake's life; Shadow Moses. Metal Gear Solid 2 is something of a "passing of the torch" story in which Solid Snake himself becomes a mentor.
Finally, Metal Gear Solid 3 is a distant prequel, dating back during the Cold War where Snake's mentor Big Boss was still a stealth operative under the codename Naked Snake (due to his missions requiring him to drop into enemy territory with almost no equipment, forcing him to acquire gear on-site). Basically, MGS3 tells the story of how Naked Snake became the man we know as Big Boss.
After that, things get... Difficult to explain in a UA-cam comment. Basically, Hideo Kojima didn't want to continue the story after that point, but Konami wanted money so... The show must go on. Games after that get much darker, more tragic, and have a great deal of death and suffering in them, moreso than even the most tragic points of the first era. As you can see by this trailer, really. Second era mostly covers the finality of Solid Snake's journey in MGS4 and the rest of Big Boss's journey with a number of titles, each progressively more depressing than the last.
To conclude this book of a comment, whether or not you decide to dive into MGS, be it just the first era or both, everything comes to a conclusion narratively in Metal Gear Rising, which is so detached from both Metal Gear Solid and the laws of reality that it deserves attention just for existing, meanwhile Metal Gear Survive was a transparent cash grab of a game that makes no sense in the canon and only exists to siphon money from players. So, Rising deserves as much attention as possible, Survive should be avoided at all costs.
    K' bye.
