Terribly sad. Living in Los Angeles, you'd think there would be at least one big rental store for cinefiles, but even here there are none. The evenings I spent with a bag of fast food, a selection of rentals, and my friends when in college were some of the best nights in my youth. I weep for those kids growing up now.
Scott, hope you are doing well. Our last video store just liquidated a month ago. Y'all will be missed. Be kind, rewind. 🤗

Sadly so true, the streaming services making blockbusters and keeping for the specific one exclusive so you are "forced" to sub to that service if want to watch the movie. No option to buy it anymore on dvd.
What an incredible store, I would love to look through the shelves, bravo Scott for going so long, the streaming services lack personality and the warmth of going to the rental store and chatting with the owner or staff about recommendations…..the modern way sucks.. shame on the studios for not giving Scott fresh titles to rent. I hope all these streaming sites collapse under the weight of their own greed. 👍😃👍
Live in Australia, I can remember the video store, started had VHS video tapes, then slowly the dvd took over. Then eventually the store gave way to a self service Kiosk machine. Then of course that disappeared thanks to streaming, now you have to actually buy the movie disc or tv show disc from the local retailer ( which leaves you what to do if you don’t like it). Otherwise pay your $20 per month to subscribe to a streaming service.
