- A replica of the the Batmobile from the 1989 Batman movie was built by Casey Putsch in 2011 and sold to a private collector, who is now having it sold in part to help benefit Putsch's non-profit.

Hey I sat in a similar bat mobile used in the movie. It belongs to Jay Chou who bought it for 1 million and flew it to Taiwan here. He still has it today.

I wonder if he also got sued by DC for trying to sell a licensed character for profit and promotion? legally only DC would be allowed to buy it from them or donate the original build cost to the program in exchange for the car .
What are you talking about??? You can make and sell replicas. Lol
@@apathy11303 several Kit manufactures were sued by DC for doing so without licensing rights. You can build one for yourself but not sell them without permission or even use your own for promotion without their ok. They own the Batmobile character. Every unauthorized kit seller LOST.
That is a legally titled car in his name. He can do anything he wants with it, including sell for profit. Now if he was manufacturing multiple, strictly for the purpose of selling, then DC can do something about it. This was a personal vehicle that he owned for years. Big difference.
