    The "small cones" mentioned at 0:36 are the pollen cones which wind pollinate the female seed bearing cones up near the top of the tree .

    I wish people would stop cutting these down. There are hardly any around and whenever you find one sooner or later it gets cut down. People should be ashamed of themselves. Yes it makes cones and the foliage is sharp but they are a very special tree in my opinion.

      Here in my small town in southern Brazil it was absolutely full of huge Araucaria Angustifolia, but there is hardly a few sparsed around nowadays...
