Tawra is exceptional. Many with her challenges will give up and just exist. She keeps trying. She is an inspiration to people with special circumstances.
Tawra- first of all- I love your cookbooks! Second- I want to thank you for doing your best to give helpful advice to the lady, even though you didn’t know exactly what she meant. Most people just don’t bother. You are truly a wonderful woman, mom, wife and friend to all of us. ❤
I have health issues- doctors can’t help me because all my issues don’t fit for a certain condition. I was told 3 years ago that I needed to get my affairs in order and not take a day for granted.
I’m still here 🎉 😂
I hurt every minute of the day. If I’m not paralyzed- I do my best to move my body. I take probiotics as gut health is critical and often overlooked. I take vitamins, eat citrus daily, I found great benefits in madras- from budists. Open your mind, search for better health, eat well and pray 24/7.
You have been a Great Inspiration and I see you struggle and continue your video or planting or decorating and you are amazing 🥇
Sodas aren't my weakness. Soda tastes better when it's a rare treat. However, milk is my weakness. 😅 It's ok. We worked hard in other areas and are now almost completely debt free. The only exception is a small balance on a zero interest card. Our new goal is to save up for a down payment on a house! Thanks, guys! You all really helped me learn new ways to pinch pennies. Love ya both!
I bought a Soda Stream. It’s maybe not that much cheaper but it doesn’t have High Fructose Sugar in them which is a trigger for my RA. So kinda a win.
The elderly lady was doubting your health problems. I have a daughter with fibro, chronic fatigue and a host of other health issues. To this lady let me tell you it is 100% real. My daughter has the push through it attitude like Tawra has. She works full time, married and has little kids. Yes, she has to do things differently than a healthy person. She does not look at herself as a victim and that is the big difference in what a person is able to do. Fore example, I am 70 and never had the energy or drive to push through to decorate for the holidays. I am not even a good house keeper but there has never been any food rotting under the beds so we have survived. But if I get the bug to build something then I build it. Last year I built a very cute lemonade stand for my grandson. What I am trying to say is that we find a way to do what needs to be done and that we have the drive for. Illnesses like fibro don't show up in an obvious way the way a person in a wheel chair would be noticed immediately. Doesn't mean that it isn't just as real.
I push through my fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue as much as possible. I am the only caregiver for my adult son with cerebral palsey and multiple other disabilities...but WE ARE BLESSED!!! I'm not complaining AT ALL! My son and I are a team for as long as God allows it! I gave up on the victim mentality a few years ago and took responsibility for my health, both physical and mental! I took "baby steps", learned to do what I can and thanks to Tawra and Jill's books and Tawra, Mike and Jill's videos I have pulled up my bootstraps and started cooking homemade food. I learned I love to cook... and I'm good at it! 😂 So thankful for you guys!!!!
Excellent advice from you both! I've just come back from a Dr appointment & we continue to work on strategies to try to give me a bit better health & energy. Some things work & so I continue them, other things don't & I stop! Like you we've spent a lot of money & time trialling things but I'm thankful we have. We never give up on having a little more improvement in my health. I spend my limited energy on a few household tasks over the week but also fun things for me like crocheting & diamond painting that give me joy & use little energy. It's always been about pacing my energy to manage it. My saying since illnesses is "baby steps get you a long way over time!" Your advice is great & I'm sure it will help many. 🥰Blessings from South Australia💕🐨
Made the basic muffins tonight used kefir strawberry for the milk and added some frozen berries. Yum!!!!! Love your cookbooks.
My Dr. changed my bp meds, UTI stopped. I limit caffeine and sugars and haven't had any flare ups with fibromyalgia in yrs. Eating healthy and talking to your doctor about med changes and dietary changes.
We rarely buy sodas. We switched to sugar free lemonade, herbal teas and water. Crazy expensive at restaurants! Up to $3 for a soda!
I'm just about through my coffee stockpile and am thinking ill switch to using all the old teas I've stockpiled....I've also dried a bunch of herbs and could use that too....
Converting an amount to # of hours worked is a perfect way to check if you really "need" or want something.
I only buy at the most six 2 Litter bottles of Cola per month (usually Less). I buy about three 1 gallon jugs of Hi C Fruit Punch. I drink a lot of Strawberry and Chocolate flavored Milk and Hot Cocoa. I also have Flavored Drink Mixes including Tang.
Consider switching from soda to unsweetened Kool-Aide and sugar; turn some into ice cubes to put in your Kool-Aide. Or buy drinks in great bottles to repurpose for holding home made sweet tea made with lemon juice. Neither of these things are near as cheap as twp, two, but they are far cheaper than soda pop.
@terryhenderson424 make kool-aid with some seltzer water, or club soda if you gotta have that fizz now & then
OK, so I had a leftover fail tonight. I had gotten that great deal on the 93% hamburger but some of it was in preform patties so I did cook up some hamburgers. I had two left and so tonight I did hamburger patties with gravy over it with mashed potatoes. Well, the hamburgers reheated because there wasn’t a lot of fat in them were a little chewy and tough. So the rest of the preform patties I have I’m just gonna use as ground beef or find a way to add some fat to it so that it won’t be so tough when I reheat. The only thing I can think of is adding some butter, but I think it’s best if I just use it as ground beef. But it was still tasty and I still ate at home and had leftovers.
I put in about 1 tablespoon of homemade ranch dressing per pound of (80-93%) ground beef when I make burgers...helps a lot for moisture. I originally used mayonnaise...which works great as well, but switched to the homemade ranch because I don't want soybean oil products in my food 😊.
My friend doesn't drink alcohol but hangs out at this bar every day and drinks cans of Pepsi all day ,he runs a bar tab and pays it every month ,he told me last month his tab was over 400.00 he also goes to this little bakery in town and buys the left over donuts at the end of the day ,he eats about 15 donuts a day. Hes 63 and homeless lives in a camper in the alley ,hes pretty healthy actually. Hes like a ferral cat and never ever goes to a doctor, he helps me with labor on my property.
I have a multitude of health issues. But Tawra is right. Just need to power through with the things that you want to do or need to do. And Mike is right when he said "We all pay for it later"chin up!
You would be surprised at how much help you get with high bp by using decaf drinks and reducing your salt intake especially from canned foods
People at school was appalled that I refused to let my kids have unlimited pop. I allow my kids 1 can of pop a day with dinner and water or tea for the rest of the time.
Love the videos, where Mike chimes in, too. Love you , both! God bless!!! ❤
We switched to making ice tea and kool-aid on occasion to avoid the costs of soda.
For the person in their 70’s is there someone from your Church that can help you do the things that you can’t and if you don’t have a church then see if someone from your community can see if their Church has someone.
I would honestly be interested in knowing what things you have tried lately that might be bringing you some health improvement. I’m the same way with the fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome and this past year has been really hard. Constantly looking for what is working for others (not medical advice).
mikes comment about he doubts she’s on morphine everyday got me…My sister is it is fed through an internal and is blue tooth(yeah crazy)She raises grandchild.I know she is depressed wanting to be able to move like she use to.
I buy Kroger (Big K) soda. It saves a little bit of money. I like to have a can of soda with my frozen pizza for dinner on Friday nights. And I watch a movie. Monday I even had a coupon, and I forgot to use it. It was so cold yesterday and today. Tomorrow afternoon it's supposed to warm up more. I only get Kroger coffee. Kroger has good products.
@@magiccarpetrider4594She only has that on Friday night for goodness sakes 😑.
Its just on Friday. What's the problem with that?
having a frozen pizza and a soda is a nice treat once a week. so why u being mean? there were times i myself would like a small pizza or even a slice of pizza. but where i live at its $10 for one slice and a small coke. its ridiculus. and for half that price i can either make my own out of canned biscuits rolled out. topped with sauce and cheese. and get a 6 pack of the really small cans of walmart soda and enjoy a movie. its a once a week treat. rest of the week i ear meals with lots of vegis and lean meats
@@magiccarpetrider4594 I eat pizza only on Friday night, and I try to drink soda only on Fridays. But my dietitian said that "diet" soda is ok.
I am 80++ I find just keep going. I peck away.
Serns to have some bumpy roads in WY.
My husband drinks soda. 2 liter generic. I dk t think it’s worth it… maybe 25-30 a month? But I have my “things” that are snacks. So we are even I’m sure. But… this is interesting convo … to calculate the true cost bs time to work for it. I’m sure we all could find stuff that we just don’t need. And certainly dk t need to work weeks a year for.
it's snow today ❄️❄️❄️🎉🎉🎉.
I did! I did!
I love u both so much 🫶 I can't even begin on saying how your gems of wisdom has helped me on so many things. Not always easy hearing my truth from your mouths but there it was...and all I had to do was listen and apply..
4 ever grateful 🙏
She said $1200.00 per year. Or $100.00 per month.
You caught that too!?
yes correct.
Right 297 in 3 months is about 100 a month or 99 a month to be exact.
@juliephelps7616 far from what she said....so using your 99/month. Using Tawras $10/hr clear after taxes she works about 2 1/2 to 3 hrs per week to cover the soda purchases. Now depending on their budget, that may not be a problem. As Tawra says....I f you have no credit card debt Yada yada.... but from the boo hoos sounds like she has some $ issues. However that's not a huge break the bank purchase either
I heard once that much of the work in the world is done by people who don't feel very well. So I try to a little every hour and then take a break. I am the same age as Pres. Trump and don't know how he does it. I also love diet Coke so maybe it is a secret cure.
I'm younger than Trump and his schedule would be impossible for me!
no seat belts guys?😅
We had seat belts on.
❤❤❤
Me and my niece was out riding around and she asked do you want a cup of coffee I said yes that sounds fine so we go to a local little coffee shop drive-through for 2 cups of coffee they were medium size $14 and something I about fell out the car I did not pay for it I will not pay that price I think that is ridiculous and I appreciate her doing it but I want to say save your money
Cranberry for UTI
Kroger cola is like 4.50 or something. So, you save so much by doing that.
If your UTI viewer uses a statin she could quit. We noticed once someone stopped the status they no longer had UTI issues. Look up side effects.
I’m confused on topic? Decorating?
Who's driving 😂
my son
💜💜💜💜💜
Try calculating it this way 1200/yr = $100/month. Say she actually brings home the $10 you claim. That actually means she's working 10 hrs a month, not what you came up with....hmmm
Yes 3 weeks worth of work a year.
It costs a lot to buy that much soda. $100 a month at $10/ hour is 10 hours a month to buy soda (1-1/4 days a month). Multiply by 12 months, is 120 hours a year. Divide by 40 hours a week equals 3 weeks.
@jeannel1065 i see your math is funny too. 1200/ 12 months =10 but oksome folks should use a calculator for basic math
@jeannel1065 the $10 is supposedly her take home after taxes, gas, wardrobe, makeup, lunch etc
At 71, I have some health issues. This Christmas decorations are still waiting to be put upstairs in storage. Time to downsize them as it is just to much to deal with now. Keep things as simple in the future.
I don't need to know where you are going, but I am curious, who is driving, and did you and Mike just decide to spend the day making several video's while sitting in the back seat of a car?
My son and yes, it was just a 2 hour trip but yes.
I only drink water. Even when I go out to eat. Sugared and flavored drinks are garbage.
Huge sugar beet factory in Billings. They are rather stinky.
😂
Too much soda causes stone
Who's driving the car?
My son.
are you driving or on a bus???
Who's driving the car????
My son.
