Cool 😎. Didn’t realize Oklahoma had fly fishing like that . Is it stocked and managed by the Cherokee? I fly fish a lot in Cherokee NC they stock up there .
Ha, the Cherokees won’t spend “their” money if it gets to be enjoyed by non Cherokees. By “their” money I mean US Taxpayer money. Tribes in OK are full of greed and want taxpayer money to cover all their needs.
Definitely will be some people as it's almost resort like in the summer but maybe not so bad since school as started back. Either way, it's a good place to start!
Never been in the summer, but small flies (baetis and midges) are what I'd start with first. Also some small dries in natural colors. Be prepared for crowds!
I did, was actually there they opened the gates and destroyed the river. Just started going back in the last couple years...great option when AR tailwaters are releasing water in the winter.
Hello Drew - I took up FF this year at age 66 - been driving from Dallas to Brok Bow every other week the past month. Having a blast - I want to fish zone 2 and 3 this time. Staying for 3 days solo :-). What bridge is that in your pic with the big bow - looks like a nice spot. Anywhere you suggest in zone 2 or 3?
That's awesome, welcome to the addiction! I pretty much stay above hickory cg in the catch and release area where I can sight fish. Below the dam can be good too just be aware of the generation schedule.
This will be my second time going to beavers bend it was crowded the first time and I wasn’t able to catch anything I’m going to try and find some new spots for Late November I’m also new to fly fishing is there any spots or flies that would help me out
There really aren't that many spots but going when it isn't crowded is way more important. As far as flies etc,..I'd suggest small natural...midges, baetis etc and the lightest indicator u can find. Foam or yarn...try to avoid the bobber style. These fish see a ton of pressure!
@@LooknFishy yeah I figured finding spots that sent crowded would be hard but thank you for the reply I’ll definitely looks at some flies and give those a shot I’ll just head out really early in the morning thank you once again
Love it! Looking forward to more videos in 2020!
Thx brother, hopefully you can make it into a few with me!
Awesome video man! Ready for this summer heat to die down so i can get back out on the streams!
Same here, looking forward to cooler temps and rising water levels!
That is a great place to be and to fish. Take care, greetings from Ireland.

Not me, never on a weekend but good luck!
@@LooknFishy heading down tomorrow morning so hopefully I can beat the crowds 😅.
My wife and I may possibly be moving from Colorado to OK, this video gives me hope!
Well, depending on where in OK you have the White, Norfork and many small spring creeks in MO also!
Drew LooknFishy good to know!! Thanks!
Enjoyed it 👍
Thx dude!

Don't know if you fished there back in the day but looks like it's coming back.

Awesome! What campground did you stay at?
The state park, hickory campground...fyi, you have to reserve sites online now.
Drew LooknFishy thanks!

Where did you camp and put in at to fish?
State park!
What was you using bait ( fly)
Lots of small stuff...midges and baetis sz 20-22!
I realize this is a while back, but what fly rod size/weight were you using here?
Would you share the location?
How clear is the water there
Gen clear most of the time...6x is my standard.
One of the most beautiful areas left in Oklahoma and they turned it into an unnatural dammed system that slowly destroys aquatic life. How stupid.
