Derren Brown's Ghost Train Breakdown 2017

- So in April 2017 we visited Thorpe Park. After quite a few rides broke down that day, I got stuck on Derren Brown's Ghost Train, with many others, for approx 1 hour.
Luckily (or unluckily depending how you look at it) I whipped out my phone and recorded what happened.
It was soooo hot on there. The air conditioning stopped, so the Underground Train was like an oven.
If you ever get stuck like this on the ride, I would recommend asking to get off the ride, so you don't waste an hour of your life, and time in the park.
Once I did get off the ride, they then did another little gimmick that is part of the ride (I won't spoil it), but most people were not in the mood for it.
Not sure if anyone re-rode the ride (it was the last ride of the day). I certainly didn't. Never again :(
Such a shame that this ride didn’t turn out how it was intended to! It had such amazing potential
it broke down on me for 5mins but they said keep you protective eye glasses on
Yeah, if it's a short breakdown, then they would ask you to keep them on. Thinking about it they said that to us at the beginning :)

Yes, I'm sure that it is a shame and very boring to be stuck for an hour on the ride, but not going on it ever again is a bit of far stretch. It's a good ride, it could be better but I'm happy with that it is. Just because of a bad breakdown doesn't mean that you have to avoid the ride forever.
It wasn't that it was just boring, it was extremely hot on there. The ride should have been evacuated (as other rides do) rather than let it limp along. I'm a Theme Park addict and in all my years this was the worst experience I've had on a ride that has broken down. I'd just rather not put myself through that experience again.

Theve gotten rid of the vr headsets now and added live actors personally the acting and performance is great but they could of made it a tiny bit more scarry but then again little kids can go on it as well but i definitely recommend 👌
People shouldn’t lash out on the staff, they forget that they’re stuck too! They don’t want to be stuck aswell.
When I went on the ride yesterday, we got stuck in the queue as the ride broke down, so they had to get an engineer to fix it, causing a delay. But when I got on, no breakdowns or anything. Smooth ride.
But being stuck there for an hour must suck..
What happened after the main hour delay happened? Did it start and stop or did it run smoothly? Did you get to the end?
A year down the line, went fright night tonight and this ride opened 40 mins late due to “technical issues”, then broke down twice whilst queuing for 80 mins, then broke down twice whilst we were on the train and a third time between trains. When will they sort this ride out!!
Well...from the many comments on here about the large downtime on this ride, its either going to come to a time where they say enough is enough, as it's giving the park a bad reputation, or a massive overhaul to fix it correctly. Which is the right option?
It broke down while I was on it for like 1 minute in 2016.

Me and my friend got stuck on here for an hour and this was when the temperature was 35 degrees my friend passed out... was fucking ridiculous.
Queued for 2 hours for this today,,, my vr head set didn't work, I had audio but blank screen, I thought something was eventually going to happen super freaky, utter shite! Utter utter shite!!
What happened in the end?
Do you mean what happened after we got off (the extra bit of the experience) or once the video stopped? Once I'd stopped recording, the ride kept starting and stopping a number of times and we did get to see some of the actual ride, but by that time the novelty had worn off.
