I really feel like this film was meant to be shorter but they were determined to hit 20 minutes so they decided "yes, walking away is an integral part of this, show them walk the whole way. Also, SONG" lmao
I believe people's readiness to trust the AI. Jesus is something akin to the crux of Terry pratchett's story of small gods... The idea that the faith itself is what people revere and no longer the god. As long as the church tells you that a TV screen with a picture of Jesus on it is enough... Religious people will happily lap it up.
Somebody in the thread already mentioned Dan Haggerty played Grizzly Adams on a 70's TV show. That's legendary enough, but in 1963 he played one of the caped muscle men in the Frankie Avalon/Annette Funicello movie Muscle Beach Party, which makes him a golden god, in my estimation.
I would say to call this a musical, there has to be some plot progression through song. It narrowly passes with the "Christmas Light-Off" where Jennifer redeems Burton by singing him into a puddle. As long as we're calling that a song, this is technically a musical, as barebones as the music is.
Is it weird that the thing bothering me most are the mountains at the North Pole? ;-) Second place is the bleak "compound" - grain silos look more inviting than that... 😅
I loved this video! Especially your rendition of the duet song; you've got much better pitch than the voices in the movie. Spot on! Um... "the first animated Christmas movie"? Are they effin' kidding me? Here in the states, we've grown up with animated Christmas movies since 1964: "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer," "A Charlie Brown Christmas," "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," "Santa Claus is Comin' to Town," and I've only barely started; there were so, so many, mostly in the 60s and 70s, waaaay long before 1995 (AND they were GOOD). Who did they think they were kidding with "the first animated Christmas movie"? It's an insult to Rankin/Bass. I love your videos; keep up the great work, and Happy Holidays!
Thank you, Emma! I would never have known this pile of...inspired ideas 😉...existed if not for your diligence. And as always, you watched it so we don't have to! I laughed almost continuously through this one, especially during the "Burton Lemon Turns" section. You were really at the top of your game here, which is a sign that you only keep getting better at this stuff. And thank you for putting The Board together for us! Even if the Little Brother didn't look so good, the importance of The Board and The Pointer cannot be understated. I thoroughly enjoyed this video, right down to your smiley/frowny vest!
Dan Haggerty was an animal trainer that worked in Hollywood training bears. He became famous when he starred in a wildlife adventure movie about a man exploring the mountains finds an orphan bear cub and they become friends. The film would inspire a TV show in the 70s about a true life mountain man named Grizzly Adams that was set in the 1800s, unlike the movie that was set in modern day. But it was basically the same premise. Man with bear friend. He was known for his epic beard. Picture Kurt Russell in The Thing only on steroids. That is if it's the same Dan Haggerty. He was a staple of American TV in the 70s and then very quickly forgotten.

I helps me to gain perspektive to capabalities as well as the limitation of current mainstream AI models. Of course neuronal networks and machine learning have other applications where different capabilities are used. But in general neuronal networks are mostly just very good at pattern recognition but also somewhat likely to see patterns where there are none (not unlike humans).

I’d argue Rapsittie Street Kids is worse
Finally a fellow Rapsittie survivor
I really feel like this film was meant to be shorter but they were determined to hit 20 minutes so they decided "yes, walking away is an integral part of this, show them walk the whole way. Also, SONG" lmao
Hi Emma, I discovered you only recently. I think this is my first new upload since subscribing! Keep doing what you do! Love it!
Thank you for making me smile during these troublesome days of Christmas.
As a 3d artist who has few resources, this movie actually looks like a great production for the time.
Thanks for the vídeo!
Couldn't imagine better christmas gift than a cork board Emma video
first one that came to mind was "A Christmas Carol" by Disney with Donald Duck and all .... Merry Chrimbus to you!!
All the elves wanted to was to make the Arctic great again.
Is it weird that the thing bothering me most are the mountains at the North Pole? ;-)
Second place is the bleak "compound" - grain silos look more inviting than that...
I spent a year looking up bad movies and this was not one of them, it was not worth it. Thank you for doing the work that few people are willing to do
Thank you, Emma!
He was a staple of American TV in the 70s and then very quickly forgotten.
qustion : how many smileys fit on a an outfit?
emma's answer : yes! :D
I love your wit Emma. Keep up the good work you do.
"If you liked Toy Story you'll love The Christmas Light." Will, I, though? Will I!?!?
Aw... My oldest child was born in 97! Maybe that's why I like you so much, you remind me of some of my kids friends. Thanks for the video Emma!
Frosty the snowman was 1969
Charlie Brown Christmas 1965
How the Grinch stole Christmas (cartoon)1966
Santa Claus is coming to town (stop motion) 1970
Rudolph the red nose reindeer (stop motion) 1964
Rudolphs shiny new year (1976)but it's a new years story not really Christmas but it has Rudolph and Santa
Rudolph and Frosty Christmas in July 1979
There were many Christmas movies made before 1993 sorry to disappoint 😹😸😹😸😻😻😻🎄🎄 Happy Holidays 🎄🎄
Thanks for the laugh. I kind call a movie with someone singing, even once, a "musical".... But that's putting it mildly. Happy Holidays Emma!
@12:24 "The Iceman Cometh"
Eugene O'Neill: The Iceman Cometh "Themes are Self-Delusion and "Pipe Dreams": The characters in The Iceman Cometh [in the bar] live in a state of denial, clinging to unattainable dreams and illusions about their futures."
I have seen other people talk about this weird movie, it's like a childs first cheezy movie to riff on. My favorite part is of course when Burton bites it and they just go "ah well" only for him to return as "The Snowman" complete with voice reverb. also you hair is very shiny like spun strands of gold.
I really liked you calling out AI as Large Language Model. I kind of knew that but it really slipped my mind and your comment brought it back.
Santa's compound?
Is Santa a super-villain?
I find it troubling that Santa told the little girl not to wear anything warm, but later she ends up walking outside (without a coat!) in the blizzard to find the snowman's cave.
Loving the outfit of the day it's giving swashbuckling pirate bard or something
If the 1985 film Santa Clause: The Movie couldn't afford Dudley Moore and hired Burton 😂
Santa Claus: The Movie if it was REALLY bad.
Can’t wait to watch! Great getup for this video
Thanks Emma, now I have to watch "Scrooged" and "Bad Santa" to get that horror out of my head.🎄
"The snowman leaves the complex, going south at a high speed..." Well, that certainly narrows things down... ;)
1995 was a pretty good year for the UK rave scene
