I'm not saying it's fake, but there are many ways of doing this that can not easily be reproduced or scaled worldwide. Battery swaps are expensive and will not scale well either. It's a case of whether people will be prepared to pay for it in some form. It's all possible, but may well not be successful long term, buyer beware.

Other than minor maintenance and upkeep theoretically the car could last forever unless you wanted to upgrade to a new design and features. Kind of like a smartphone 🤓
In my opinion, EVs are like smartphones. It is technology that will determine the leaders.
EV batteries will last a very long time though. Early batteries and thermal control were not great. High mileage examples have been thashed to death, rapid charging multiple times a day. It will soon be more than usual to get good battery performance after 300,000 miles and run on past 500,000. That's 30 to 50 years at my useage and I probably won't live that long.
This would be better if it was done when other cars and people were around

Not necessary. Will you program your Nio EV to go autonomous battery swap at night when you are sleeping or when you are busy working at office when queues are long and probably you will need to use the EV for travelling? This demo is realistic. I dont see the need to choose a busy period to demo the autonomous battery swap.
Nvidia's autonomous hardware works very well even in cars like Nio. I wonder why Tesla decided to work on their own hardware instead of just going with Nvidia. Cheaper and better.
This is impressive! but why on earth use a swapping station and not invest into wireless charging, no need to swap a battery, just tell your car to go charge, cheaper and better in every way! Tesla is already close to finishing this anyways.
Wireless charging take time, Power Swap is much faster.
In what scenario will you pay more to charge 10minutes faster and how much more are you willing to pay?

@flujori you pay 200 per month, but you didn't have to purchase the battery in the first place. And the 12 EUR/swap include the energy. Do the math, based on your local supercharger prices per kWh and come again.
