My sister quoted some lyrics from this amazing song, for her 21 year old daughter. She suffered a fatal heart attack,a complication from years of battling bulimia. Go heavenward, like all good angels do. you were angelic my little niece.
That’s beautiful. I am so sorry for your loss, Grant. That heaven gained an angel with your niece, that we can be sure of. God bless you and your family.
Grant, even if your posting is bit older, I'm shocked and so sorry for your sister and you.... I was cryin for minutes. My interpretation of this lyrics and "my story" behind is completely different, but maybe it's the secret of their lyrics and music which allowed us to feel things we want or need to feel... Why must beatiful young people die or even not to be born only because of our ill civilisation? At the illness that doesn't really exist? Sometimes I wish we would live in the past your niece would not have died and my daughter would be born. Best wishes for happiness!
......and this was my story i have posted to an other version of this beatiful song......"I'm not a very good english speaker so I have to translate while listening to be sure I understand right what they sing. I love this band since my new smart-TV gave me a suggestion on YT one year ago. After I heard this beautiful song for the first time my very first feeling was this is not about the death of a friend, this is about the death of a child..... I guess they say that to protect themselves from stupid questions. I thought my interpretation was a little bit too crazy but after reading your moving, sad story i know it doesn't have to be like this at all. (I have replied to another post with a very sad story of our human dramas). Maybe this is about very young child, that is not even born yet.... I know, terrible thought for the pro-abortion youth of our time. But I know what i'm taking about. I'm sixty something, of polish origin living in Germany 2/3 of my life have a beloved son aged 41. When my girlfriend got pregnant in the late 70's, she was 16 i was 18, we were forced to have an abortion. At that time in Poland it was kind of "normal", almost every couple did it. The stupid doctor even told us after the operation that the baby was a girl. A grave doesn't exist of course, they threw it away as if it were butchery waste. If we had been braver or the doctor had said: 'cmon, don't do it, people will help you' we would have a wonderful (i'm so sure) daughter, a five years older sister for our son. For decades the girl has lived and grown in my imagination, i imagine how she would be as a human being in every single phase of her life, even talk to her, and, yes, maybe some don't understand it, like Ellen Ciara Rowsell sings "she taught us things we all should learn" and "i long to see her when it's my turn" and "i'd see her dancing on". People please do not kill human beings who could one day became such a wonderful, gifted, sensitive, valuable person as Ellie from Wolf Alice! I'm a man who never ever cried all my life, and was very progressive about things like abortion and so....... since i got "addicted" to this song i cry every day imagining my 'Earth Angel' unborn daughter dancing with me in heaven."
@@martaartworx I’m sorry you had to suffer this way, I’ve had two sisters out of 4 who have battled this non existent disease, it’s scarred my childhood and adulthood, bullies and society really torture young girls and boys to look a certain way, and the fashion industry is just as toxic. I pray you and other sufferers find a way, some people aren’t lucky to have the good memories, I’ll treasure those of my niece, the little girl who just wanted to help those in hospital with her, who wanted to help fellow sufferers. Be free my little niece and absolute mirror image of my daughter ❤️❤️
I haven't immediately liked a band in so sooooo long. I dont even remember the last band I did love immediately, probably Strung Out back in the 90s. I heard Silk on the Trainspotting soundtrack and then every song of theirs is magically amazing. Fantastic band
Your mum created you a small heaven I was there just an hour I could tell that you'd be leaving So cruelly beyond all our power Go Heavenward Like all earth angels should Go Heavenward Like all earth angels should I'm gonna celebrate you forever You taught us things we all should learn I'm gonna celebrate you forever And long to see you when it's my turn Go heavenward Like all Earth angels should Go heavenward Like all Earth angels should See you dancing on You dancing on See you dancing on You dancing on See you dancing on You dancing on See you dancing on You dancing on
Absolutely amazing band
I've been digging into this band for almost a year and keep finding new gems. They are the best thing going, no question about it.
Right? I've been looking for obscure recordings of their older songs and performances for a long time. Have not found a bad song yet. Phenomenal!
