I brought the e book bundle and read this book a little over a week ago. I have read a frost of fear and fortitute (twice) as well as a sea of sorrow and scorn since and im about to start the next one. I cant reccoment this series enough!
Also I saw a comment about being unsure of whos the villian but please stick it out. I promise you will be satisifed and understand by the end of the story.
The santa inspired books are shorter if you want to try another story of the writers that you can get through more quickly as to get invested into his work!
Lastly to the writer, thank you for making this accessable to those who may noy be able to afford it right now. I love your work and good luck on your future books too!

I'm lovin this book so far, I finally found a book with some grit, I'm 2 hrs in
really awesome to put some of these up on youtube. made it abosolutely not an issue to instantly buy on audible after finishing and now on book 2 ive wanted to try these for a while. and. only recently saw this. inormally dont use a credit on audible on any book under 10 hrs long. but ive just spent 2 on the next book and the next one. so great job making me break a rule for audible. makes me sad they are so short. but its very well written. and i enjoyed it. cant wait to hear the rest of them. wish they were like a 2-3 book bundle for a credit cause it still feels like im being cheated normally only using a credit on 15-50 hr books. but you did it. and did it well enough that ive spent em already haha
The comments complaining about characters not being all goody two shoes are ridiculous.
If you want actual characters with true depth, they have to have flaws. The author does a great job establishing the way of the world early on.
Go check out The Hobbit or LotR if you’re wanting a traditional good vs evil story

2 hours in.. I like that there aren’t really “good guys” or “bad guys” but it’s hard to know where the story is going.. we shall see where this goes!

The narrative struggles being confined to observations of the speaking character. Without background how can the reader get a feel for the story? The reader saves the handicapped story with his steady timbre.

What a voice! So many audio books are unlistenable due to poor narrators. This guy is perfect for the book.
Aaron Smith has done such an amazing job with all of the audiobooks. He is such a fantastic narrator!
I'm usually not one for audio books but this one seemed to grip me. It's quick pace lends well to an audio book imo, as well as the first person narration. I hope the others will get narrated as well. Story wise it was quite alright. I wanted to know what happened next and got surprised a few times. Overall i would recommend people give it a try. Some thoughts while reading: "Jared you're a simp" and "OMG, that's brutal."

I really appreciate that you put this up on UA-cam for everyone! I have wanted to read your series ever since I saw your reel on Instagram. The concept is really good and I definitely understand what you tried to do here. It is not my favorite retelling of Robin Hood but it's very unique. I think my main criticism is that some of the language is very repetitive, especially the chapters from Jared's POV(this may have been intentional on your part as the story is mainly told through intrusive thoughts and these tend to be repetitive in nature) and this made the plot drag for me. I like that the book is written in 1st person though and there was plenty of action as well as more realistic character developments than is usual in fantasy. Great altercation in the final chapters but I wish we had got more of the final fight. I'll happily read more.of this series

The more I listen, it feels to me like a dark fantasy retelling of Robin Hood.
He reminds me of Robin Hood with his bow, green cloak living in the forest and giving money to the poor but still a good book. I liked it.

I'm a hour and a half in and there is no one to root for 😢 the writing is good so I'm trying to give it a chance but a book about evil dudes with no apparent main character is making it hard to be fully invested in it.
This book is very interesting they made the good guy and to the bad guy in the bad guy into the Jared is definitely the good guy but they made him into a bad guy very interesting Dr Jones😂

It's almost as if good guys and bad guys aren't a thing and that those who are good are capable of evil and even those most wretched know charity and have kindness within them.

Story could do with being a bit longer, couldve mentioned how the kid saved the medicine man, and other points of views, like the barkeeper and his daughter, and the evil mage. But still very good, and the narrater is amazing.
