LEGO nailed the Baron's haircut.
Crazy they molded that hair specifically for him, wonder if they’ll somehow be able to use it for other figures
true
@@thisisthisis542they had to build a whole new machine on the assembly line to mold it.
double molded too, they went all out with his hair
@@batmanvsuperman_ can't believe the original lego creators had the foresight to think this far ahead into the game. Absolute legends if you ask me
It makes me so happy that he not only knew about it but built it!!
Same!
ofc he knew, Lego had to make sure they had permission or they risk getting sued.
@@dealerovski82they would have to ask the studio, not him
And fought to get a prototype for Christmas. 😆
They don't need directors permission. Dune is owned by Legendary Pictures. @@dealerovski82
I LOVE THAT DENIS VILLENEUVE IS A LEGO FAN
The Baron is already the third figure rendered after Stellan Skarsgard after Bootstrap Bill Turner and Luthen Rael. How doesn't he know hahahah
Edit: It's even four: I forgot Dr. Erik Selvig.
I think Selvig and Luthen used the exact same face print, too. I have Luthen.
It's a secret😅
I want the fifth one: Martin Vanger
@@St-hu3om Something tells me Lego won't be making a set from a movie that features a very graphic and deeply uncomfortable rape scene in it.
@@needamuffin But lego is ok with star wars, where dozens of children are slaughtered, brother and sister are kissing and genocide is a daily routine.
denis has a childlike energy. thats key to growing old. thats why he's such a great filmmaker
Agreed
My desert, my arakis, MY DUNE
MY LEGO
MY LONG BARON
Lego needs to make more Dune sets!!
Sand worm 😍
I really hope they make some smaller more affordable sets. The ornithopter looks stunning but I can't afford it at present sadly.
@@seanolaocha940its only about $160 usd
@@DylanGodor Oh I know it's not _that_ expensive, but I can't justify spending that much on Lego at the minute.
@@seanolaocha940 fair enough, I actually used Afterpay so I didn't have to pay for it all at once so I can't talk lol
Denis being a LEGO fan is as crazy as learning Christopher Nolan likes the Fast And Furious movies
Wait what?? Chris likes ff lolll
or Robert Pattinson is a huge FF7 fan
@@ToxicTurtleIsMad check out his interview with Stephen Colbert
@@shooter5503 him and Pom Klementieff are FF7 fans
But then again, who doesn't love Lego?
Lego sent one of the first Mars Exploration Rover sets to JPL. They said it was more fun building it than the real thing.😂
JPL?

he literally did the french laugh haha 1:04
Love seeing their reactions
I hate how he gets pegged as an inaccesible, high-brow auteur when he’s actually a big kid!
Some people don't understand that it can be hard sometimes to express your thoughts in a second language. And they think you are distant. Happened to me in the past
You should hear him in french. He's really a big kid that is passionate about cinema 😊
How exactly does being pegged 'inaccessibly' work as compared to being accessibly so?
I love Denis I think he always seems like a thoughtful, smart, happy charming Montreal French man.
There's nothing wrong with that as long as you do good work. Denise is someone that definitely earned his chops as a director since he doesn't just make the movie, but he respects the lore. That's what makes him powerful. I compare him quite favorably to James Cameron who is likewise a great visionary, but his investment in lore is skin deep.
Hoping for a LEGO Sandworm set...
Hell yeah, and an imperial ship
Denis is the real OG
Yay! My son was excited for this set & built it yesterday in 3 1/2 hours. It's an impressive set!
Wtf 3 1/2 hours is wild 😮
Go to 1:03 to hear a stereotypical French laugh
Denis is Québécois. French-canadian laugh sounds like ''han-han''. French laugh sounds more like ''hon-hon''
Wow Villeneuve has a stronger French accent than I remember. Then again its been awhile since I've watched him in an interview.
He will always have this accent obliously English is not is mother tongue. Cinema is his fist language😃
French-Canadian. A Quebecois accent is a little different from an accent of a native of France; it's much more nasally sounding than Parisian French.
Thank you for making such great movies Mr Villeneuve!
More of this please
This brings me such joy
Pretty sure this is the 4th time Stellan Skarsgard has been a Lego figure. His characters in Avengers, Andor, and Pirates of the Caribbean were also made into minifigures.
I just finished building that Lego Ornithopter tonight, it kicks ass!!! 😁
Crazy level of engineering gone into it!!!
Goodness me even more reason to love Denis!
I want that backdrop as a wallpaper
That baron figure 😂😂😂
This makes me happy
THATS MY GOAT
After 21 years, maybe it's time to get into legos again...
That’s not the royal ornithopter? That’s the military grade one the royal one has gold windows and a rounded nose
Holy shit io9 still exists.
Stellan Skarsgard now has like 3? lego minifigures made of him. His characters from Thor, Andor, and Dune.
This is great.
he is Literally Me
Did selvig have the same face on the baron?
Stellan was already a Lego figure as Dr Erik Selwig in the Avengers Tower set, but that was a very basic figure.. this is way cooler (if that word can be used unironically about a Lego Minifig).
This is the first time I see Stellan look his age - he's 72.
Anathema maranatha
Of course Denis was a Lego spaceship kid
Holy damn, I didn't know that Lussier was 109 years old.
So relatable how Denis had to save up for months in order to purchase this kit like the rest of us.
Im majorly disappointed by his Dune films but I can't hold anything personally against this guy. He's a family man who builds Legos with his kids.
That's the dream
I feel like Denis is a LOT more nerdy than he lets on
two people talking
THERE IS NO GREEN VERSION in the video or anywhere else, If you clicked for the thumbnail. Someone decided to color shift the picture just to make you click
It’s the lighting bro, it’s not that deep
He had a blast?? Is he alive???
Maybe his movies are so good because it's coming from a make believe play angle, rather than a preaching or business angle.
I'm sorry Denis Villeneuve, I was not familiar with your game
Americans had not quite a blast never being able to pronounce Villeneuve correctly ever.
I was expecting an obese lego figure for the baron.
Man , Germain looks like he eats meat out of a bag, what happened to him???
Love Denis but hate Germain Lussier.
I believe it's spelled ⊃∪∩∈ (or ⊃∪∩⪽ , depending on the promo material)
Bro showing off his magic font abilities 😭
DUNC
@@ninjagamer1359 it's not a font.
Those are mathematical symbols used in propositional logic:
"A ⊃ B" means "A is a superset of B".
"A ∪ B" means "union of sets A and B".
"A ∩ B" means "intersection of sets A and B".
"a ∈ A" means "a is an element of set A".
And for the alternative version,
"⪽" is just "subset with dot".
All those unicode characters can be found by either just googling their meaning or looking in a unicode table.
