0:12 This is the sound I was searching for. I heard this a long time ago. It sounded like trees snapping or something. Glad I found this video finally. I don't know if it's the mic quality difference but the one I heard was way fking louder and violent
The reason the thunders more powerful then usual here in this video is because it looks like you had positive lightning striking around you which holds a much higher current than typical negative lightning. We had some positive lightning in England back in south Wiltshire in August 2016 and the thunder sounded like cannon fire.
Very textbook positive lightning thunder. If you see images of positive strokes, often you'll see that the channel is much smoother and there is no branching especially close to the ground. With negative strokes there is almost always dense branching near the ground especially if it's a more intense stroke... basically the opposite of what we see with positive lightning. When there is a strong negative stroke nearby, you basically always hear a cracking and ripping sound before a loud, distorted boom. That's from the side-branches and jagged main channel. Because positive strokes often lack side-branches near the ground, the very first thing you hear is the blast from the main channel which can be quite loud if the peak current is high and the lowest part of the channel is straight. Edit: We can hear a soft crackle before the first stroke in the video. That might have come from positive leaders aloft before the main channel accelerated downward.
This comment taught me something new because I’ve always been wondering if thunder is a shockwave what does that crackle come from? Because the first thing you expect from a shockwave is a boom now I know what it comes from. Thank you for this comment.
I went to my sisters house in Edmonton CA, they were having a heatwave and it was hitting 35c. A few days later, the weather broke and the storm was astonishing. I was out walking when it started and still a couple of miles away when the lightning started. No word of a lie, it was like something in a horror movie, and it was VERY close. It scared the living shit out of me and I love running out with my camera in a storm. Then the rain came. I was utterly drenched in 10 seconds. Coming from the UK, it was an experience.
Weird thunder the first and second thunderclap sounds very weird, but the third one really captures my attention. It sounds like a huge blast before a loud plane taking off. It just sounds Super unusual.
That's awesome! I wonder if there was a temperature inversion? I always hear meteorologists in our area talk about that when there is loud thunder, especially at night.
yeah my room like i have a glass tapol and some glass thing my room was shaking and my windos where shaking to i live up stairs and this duner hit hard and lightnig dont get me started when it hit my windo look like it was mornig
Buddha taught that right hearing is being conscious and open to the teachings of the Dharma. Right hearing means listening with mindfulness, attention, and understanding. So while you may literally hear thunder, right hearing is something much deeper.buddha what ear hearning is thunder
Not very smart to be hanging out in the middle of a massive open field as one of the tallest objects around sitting under a network of lightning like that...
Have we not shown you any signs? Yes we did. The word رعد mentioned in Quran. Quranic Verses about Thunder. The word Thunder رعد mentioned 02 times in Quran in 02 verses. (2:19) أَوْ كَصَيِّبٍ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ فِيهِ ظُلُمَاتٌ وَرَعْدٌ وَبَرْقٌ Or [it is] like a rainstorm from the sky within which is darkness, thunder and lightning. They put their fingers in their ears against the thunderclaps in dread of death but Allah is encompassing of the disbelievers. (13:13) وَيُسَبِّحُ الرَّعْدُ بِحَمْدِهِ وَالْمَلَائِكَةُ مِنْ خِيفَتِهِ And the thunder exalts [Allah] with praise of Him - and the angels [as well] from fear of Him - and He sends thunderbolts and strikes there with whom He wills while they dispute about Allah ; and He is severe in assault.

It sounds like a flag blowing in the wind. Or a fighter jet flying over if you’re ever heard one
@@flip7194 In person it’s a whole lot different experience, and we know that by now
It almost sounds like a missile flying through the sky
Sounds like when a jet breaks the sound barrier
@@fischerman7187 same effect, shock wave breaking sound barrier after air is superheated by the lightning and expands explosively

Positive Lightning makes the scariest type of Thunder
Indeed
It's scary because ìt doesn't rumble and then crash, It just pops, crackles and explodes through the sky and it all catches you by surprise
Lightning causes thunder
Yes, if the lightning flashes so bright, the thunder will release the loud clap.
