Kyle could have been that antagonistic character on cw shows, you know the type. But he ended up being a solid friend to Lois and Clark, i really like characters like that.
Yeah they definitely had him start out that way and I for sure thought he was going to continue to be a pain in the ass like those kinds of villains on CW shows, but I'm glad this show has the maturity to take a bad character and redeem them to the point that they are a beloved "good" character who really just had some flaws that they needed to work through. I think it really speaks to the Superman mythos where the villain doesn't always deserve the justice of Superman, but rather the empathy of Clark Kent. It shows how Clark has a great ability at helping people turn themselves around for the better, without having to resort to physical altercations.
As I recall, Bruce has admitted the world needs Smallville. It's like he needs one spot in the world where everything is still good. The issue was one where Smallville had been severely damaged and Bruce Wayne donated a bunch of equipment and materials to help rebuild. Naturally Superman had to pretend he thought Bruce was just another corporate shark.
Clark and Lois are the kind of people you want to have as friends

One thing I really liked is that although Kyle came off as a jerk in the beginning, he really did want the best for Smallville.
Nice to see Clark and Lois help Kyle and Chrissy with getting their dream house.
In another version... he could have just ask Bruce for help since he bought a bank and all.

Here in Georgia thats a 1.2 million dollar home.
A house that big for only 300k? Here in the UK that would cost you about 820k - 1m.
Smallville is an economically stagnant farming community, so real estate costs far less than in growing or high density areas.
