Would highly recommend getting a bolt to Belem early. I got there by 8:30 and there were 2 other people at the tower. By the time I left the area at 9:30 I could see it getting very busy

That's a great tip! Sunrise is even better. We really should have said to go to Belem Tower for sunrise and then go to Jeronimo's Monastery.
