thanks, I'm happy you like its output in video! I only use an iPhone 6s to film actually and initially I felt like maybe it's not delivering as much quality as viewers would prefer. quite outdated in today's standards, but I have two kids to earn a living for, rent, and car mortgage to pay LOL so I'm still sticking to it for now.
@@arachnotherapy7322 At my rate i may as well mail you my Sony a6400. Lol. I invested $1500 into it, meant for my drives but here i am chilling at home. Point is, Imagine how many people buy top quality shit for an occasional selfie or don't even use it period. It just sits there uselessly. I definitely appreciate when people can get the absolute most out of what they already have instead of upgrading for the sake of upgrading..
Beautiful species btw. Very calming video, which I like and enjoy very much. She is one of the OW species I've been thinking of getting as my first OW. And, yes, the legs are such a gorgeous color of iridescent blue. Do you make your own enclosures? I prefer mine to be glass. They don't tend to scratch easily, and I find they are easy to clean. But I have considered acrylic ones. Thank you for the video.
Hi Linda, I have a local craftsman make enclosures for me. I agree with the fact that acrylic gets scratched up with the smallest debris on whatever you wipe it with even with the lightest touch. and I also agree with the fact that they're hella lot more difficult to clean lol. I stuck to acrylic tho because the city I live in gets hundreds of earthquakes a year and my fear is if I use glass and they fall off the shelves during a major quake, they'd definitely break or shatter easier than acrylic...and yes I'd say go for it! HP is a very good choice for a first OW species as they're a good combination of beautiful and chill. I got a P. formosa and an OBT for my first OW, got a lot of bolts and threat poses, haha.
@@arachnotherapy7322 OH yes I fully understand about earthquakes. I grew up in the Los Angeles area and I remember the big quake we had in 1971, I think it was. I was living at home and getting ready for class at college and the whole house started shaking. My mom screamed and my dad ran from the bedroom trying to keep the China hutch from falling. Then driving to school the roads were cracked in places and it was eerily quite. We had many aftershocks. Luckily, we have very few earthquakes here where I live now. I have bolted my shelves and applied a layer of clear silicone and let it dry. The silicone prevents the enclosures from slipping. I used Exo-terra 12x12x12 enclosures for my terrestrial t's and a 12x12x18 for the arboreal. What I really like about them is the double front doors, so when I clean, one door is always closed. But my Ts rarely bolt, thank goodness. Also, there is a place I order new tops for the enclosures, and they are great. They provide adequate ventilation and they use a mesh that prevents my t's claws from getting stuck in the mesh. But, pretty much, on occasion, I sometimes take my enclosures outside onto my covered porch in the warm summer air for a few hours. I love watching them, even though they are pretty much pet rocks! You're lucky you have someone make custom enclosures for you. I live in a very rural area and beside a friend or two, I think we're the only tarantula keeps in my area. My only advantage here, is I have a friend who owns and runs a pet store and he gets me T's at almost cost and no shipping fees. It's a win-win for me. Hope you have a wonderful Sunday Afternoon. 😊
sounds like a traumatizing earthquake, I'm glad you relocated to a safer place! My mom and grandmother went through a similarly horrific experience and they haven't gotten over the trauma until now. I absolutely love the look of exoterras especially the ones with double doors. but where I'm at, they are rare imports and the sizes you use are worth a month's wages. to some, even more! haha. but yeah finding a craftsman to make custom enclosures offers more versatility, it also feels good to be helping someone in making a living :) and yes I had a very interesting Sunday, thank you for being so thoughtful. I hope you had a good one too! :)
@@lindabriggs5118hey, sorry for intruding, but can you please give me some info on this kind of mesh that's safe for Ts? Like, is it a specific size? Since there are no enclosure businesses in my country, I'm considering adapting fish tanks into enclosures by building mesh lids, but I'm worried about harming the spiders.
Hi! I see the video is from 2022.. can i ask you how it end up being this set up? I have one Harpactira too and barely see her always underneath the surface. I'd like to know if your enclosure stressed too much the tarantula or was perfectly fine. Thank you!
Hi, great question! The first enclosure she had had deep substrate, so expectedly, she made a hole in the ground reinforced with some webbing. I rarely saw her out except for a couple of her toes sticking out when she was hungry. So the next one I put her in, I placed a shallow bed of substrate but with more pieces of wood. She made a lair out of the entire enclosure with webbing, it was beautiful! It was obvious where her "bedroom" was, because she covered the outer webbing of the area with substrate, sort of like a blackout curtain for total privacy. In the end I knew she was going to hide away anyway, whichever setup I put her in. so I placed her in setup B, where she can at least make me something beautiful that I could appreciate more than just a hole in the ground. I know this answer won't appeal to many, but this is the best compromise I could give the little beauty. haha
Hello Gab! wala pang masyadong magarbo, d katulad nung OBT. gumawa lng sya ng single tunnel webbing tapos tinakpan ng lupa. tapos floor webbing sa 70% siguro ng floor area ng enclosure nya.. at onting pakalat kalat na web here and there. hehe. hindi nman sya stressed or unhappy sa set up, madalas syang gumagala at actively hunting pag nag lapag ako ng ipis :)
Also I absolutely LOVE the camera quality!

@@arachnotherapy7322 Maybe you can get your craftsman to make something out of plexiglass to look like an Exo-terra enclosures.

great video
What is that piece you glued in?
Fossorial, they want a nice dogleg burrow. I used excavator clay to make mine. Definitely not terrestrial, she'll wedge herself in the back.
Ganda nya!!
kung makita mo sya sa personal mas mapapa wow ka hehe
Hallo was is das für eine Erde?
part2?
nice videography
thank you! had to slow down some of the shots I took without a mount, my hands shake a lot.

yo great enclosure and spider but just one thing, shouldn't you put more substrate into the enclosure? Because I heard this species likes to burrow

How big is she on this video?
👍

This is awesome! Is this the one called GBB?
