Float your top coat to help with the bumpiness of the edges! Also when I do stickers I will top coat them and then cure for only like 10 seconds and then take a silicon tool and rub over the sticker. It’s helps to push the little bit of uncured gel under the edges of the sticker and then finish curing. Then do a second layer of top coat and it works perfectly! So maybe a couple of options to try
@@ElizabethJackson-bd3jz floating is where you put a thin uncured layer of topcoat and then do a thicker layer on top that you “float” over. It’s a technique often used for rubber bases. 😊
I share your fear of spooky scarys. They hate peppermint. So soaking balls of cotton in the essential oil and hiding near access points is a great help. Love your work so much! ❤
You could try using plastic wrap to hold the decals flat while curing. That's what I do when trying to get stickers or decals or whatever to lay flat, just take a strip of plastic wrap and stretch it over the nail to hold everything down, then cure. The gooseneck lamp really helps, too! Edit: A clear jelly stamper works really well, too!
Same!! Watching Emily’s videos helps me come out of my depression funks and do my nails!! 🩷🩷🩷 always have her in the background and she’s taught me more than any UA-camr over the years ✨🩷🩷
I made a video about doing these stickers with regular nail enamel years ago,. I have since done them with gel and I have a few tips for you. First before you do anything else, use a regular air dry enamel top coat and paint on a thin coat before you do any painting on top with gel. Why? Because that stuff peels up so much easier than a gel. After all isn't that why we all prefer gels over normal nail enamel? Then instead of using a gel top coat to apply it to the nail use a foil glue, whether that be a gel or a regular air dry. Obviously, it's sticky and will hold it down better. And before you try to stick it to the nail roll the sticker over a brush handle a couple of times to get the shape of the nail, even if it's far curlier than your nail it will lay down better. You can always use a little plastic wrap or zip lock bag stretched over the nail to hold it in place while curing it if you don't have foil adhesive. I've also used builder gel. I apply just a little then wipe the majority away. It leaves a sticky layer on the nail. If you have any areas that still did not lay flat you can always apply a coat of Builder gel on top before top coating.
Hey Emily you're looking absolutely beautiful as always and I have never seen these templates before so tfs and I hope that you and everyone watching has a wonderful day 😊❤
So here's my top tips for making your own decals like this! Use a matte top coat for the decal itself, it's more flexible and thinner than base or top coats Use foil gel to stick them on your nails, apply the foil gel and cure for 60 seconds Use a silicone tool to press the decal onto the foil gel 💕
Hi Emily! Not sure if anyone recommended it yet, but Mod Podge works wonderfully as the base for these stickers. I think I saw Dash Nails use it, but it dries clear and super flexible. I also just tried Makartt's 3d no wipe sculpture gel, and it's also really flexible when cured in thin layers, so I image it could be perfect for this technique. As for the spooky scaries, I totally get you. Mine are slugs, and I was going to enter Dev's nightmare contest, but even thinking of sculpting the fake slugs gives me actual shivers haha
I've used regular nail polish before and it came out much thinner. i also put a clear topcoat on and then used a nail brush in acetone to help melt the edges down
I found that using a peel off base coat as the base for this technique makes them super flexible and they lay down perfectly when you apply them to the nail! I use the Daily Charme peel off base
Emily I'm sure you could have drawn them all yourself freehand... You never give yourself the credit you are owed as you are a very talented nail artist and one of the best out there and you always come up with such creative ideas... ❤👍🏻
I feel like the brand definitely got hit with a cease and desist letter which is why they took everything down. There are Nightmare before Christmas characters on that mat and Disney is extremely protective of their intellectual property.
Emily, please would you share with me what you use to glue on your nails? And even more importantly what you use to just pop them off like you do? What's left of my natural nails would appreciate any help you can give me!! I don't sleep well so I turn you on the tv. It's so comforting to have a friend sit with me when I can't sleep bc of pain!! You are Amazing! Never Forget How Much You Are Loved! 💜 💜
Whenever I need to find the motivation to do my nails, I watch your videos. Your nail videos are the only ones I can actually get into and pay attention to. ❤
I made an amazing Contraption with a LED light flashlight and I put a rubber Stamper on the end of it and then you just push it down and cure it and it lays completely flat it's amazing for flowers and decals, and something metal decals. I'm pretty sure they sell lamps like that now.
It was a base coat gel polish and honestly I found it easier to do that way because it lifts my whole image up in one. When I wasn’t putting base I had lots of patches and it wasn’t lifting easy
Gorgeous set, per usual 😍 When I need to cure stuff that is not curved or takes the shape of the nail, I use one of those little flash-cure lamps, with a jelly stamper attacked. The stamper forces the thingies to curve.
Or if you make your own you could change the color to light blue or something else so you can see the you outlined in black!❤❤❤ Amazing job as always ❤❤❤
You should give animated nails a shot!! I’m obsessed with vivxue’s art and I think it’ll be such a fun concept for you to play around with as well 💖💖💖💖
emily you inspired me to start doing my own nails!!!! you’re amazing. 🖤🖤🖤 what’s a good drill to start with!? i did my first set with no drill but i’d like to get a good first one that’s inexpensive 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
i will probably never get my nails done but at this point i might know more about nails than my loved ones that always get their nails done. ANYWAYS… always love watching your videos. so therapeutic. ❤️
And without saying the s word, I really like when you put them on your nails and I put some on my nails too. Especially I really liked your recent purple set with the webs French tips
I was thinking you were gonna use the seran wrap method to get them to lay flat. Would that not have worked? Just wondering. Still beautiful nails! You continue to grow and improve every time you do your nails!
16:44 for “not doing acrylic in a while” YOU DID SO GOOD GIRL OMG! Love theseee so far! And I feel you on crooked nails, worst thing is deciding to start fresh or not 😂❤
So I almost bought these but I didn’t because a lot of the images were just to large for nails. But from an artist perspective a clear base coat before would be the best method
They should have done the stencil drawing in a colour other than black...that way you could easily see the black lines you are painting, as most will line with a black....you also can get UV torches with a silicon stamper on the end...they are great for curing things like this to the nail shape. 💛💛The brushes are amazing. That glow 👻👻
Would those lay flat to the nail with a silicone stamper or plastic wrap technique? Very cute set. Love the Halloween vibe with the classic glitter. I gotta get some of those stencils! How cool!
Figured I'd jump on here and tell you that both techniques absolutely work! The plastic wrap worked so much better for me, but either way the answer is yes!

I do a matte top coat first then a thick type top coat for stickers, I think doing 2 layers is the way to go in either case
What does that mean float your top coat?

Thanks for ze tip😅😅
It works, but is toxic to cats & dogs. Just a heads up! :)
Wow!! The things you can find on a nail tutorial 😅 I hate those creepy-crawly too, so I'm going to take this advice, thank you!
yes but be wary of essential oils around pets, it can harm them
I looove how you didn't put any song over the nail prep and everything!! so satisfying to hear it :D
I think it would be fun to use those stencils and also Emily has gotten so good especially with acrylic
Thank you 🥺
We're do I find these sheets of art?

I like your lisp because someone pointed out that I had one too, and I never noticed and I think it’s so cute now lol yay us
Love your videos . I started doing polygel over a year ago because of you . On a side note your look stunning, love your hair colour ❤
I've used regular nail polish before and it came out much thinner. i also put a clear topcoat on and then used a nail brush in acetone to help melt the edges down
The little ghost is so cute!!
oh i LOVED the music-free nail prep section
Always get super happy when I see an upload from you!!
You should get a flash cure light with a clear stamper attached to it. Works great.
Your hair is just absolutely everything in this video! It looks so stunning 😍 you're so beautiful Emily 💖
her hair gets more stunning each video 😩
The face looks so good with the glow in the dark 😍

I cannot believe I did not think of that 😵💫 thank you!

Soooo cute! You could warp the stencil sheet a little so it cures with a slight curve so they lay better on your nail (:
I feel like the brand definitely got hit with a cease and desist letter which is why they took everything down. There are Nightmare before Christmas characters on that mat and Disney is extremely protective of their intellectual property.
A great trick I've used is to use a clear stamper to smoosh them down flat while you cure!
May I just say *chefs kiss* to your ASMR nail application ❤
Nailz by dev Heavenly French set would give you an amazing range of sheer pinks!!!! ❤❤❤❤
Wow that paint sheet is super cool. I would have never thought of doing this. The wolf is calling to me for some reason. I really like that one.
Love seeing you laugh Emily! Haven’t heard a laugh in a while ❤

try the clear jelly stamper hack. cure while pushing down with a clear jelly stamper and it’ll make decals or glitter lay flat
Love the asmr moment! And those stencils are a game changer for us that can’t draw! ❤
I’m so happy for you I like this channel ❤

That's wonderful nail art. The ghost that looked like something out of Mario was especially cute.
We are rooting for you from Japan.

Your hair is actual perfection.
My favourite time of the day I love your videos ❤
You can also try using a clear stamper to hold down the sticker and cure... There are clear stampers attached to a uv flashlight. So you can try that?
you are my comfort youtuber 🖤 I always love watching your videos!
Those nails you made your friend for the wedding is soooooo beautiful!! Omg Emily. You're such a sweet friend ❤
i really live how this video was edited!! it’s so different from your other ones and i love it

Emily you look stunning your absolutely gorgeous and your also my inspiration and because of you I’m learning how to do nails ❤️❤️
Those are so cute! Love them!
When you cure the full color the background hold it around a brush to make it round then it will stick away better
You should give animated nails a shot!! I’m obsessed with vivxue’s art and I think it’ll be such a fun concept for you to play around with as well 💖💖💖💖
These are freaking adorable!!!

LOOOOOOOVE your hair like that. Color and style 🤌❤️
currently binge watching your videos to get an idea of what i should do with my nails!!🫶
Use plastic like Saran Wrap for “wrap” the decal around the nail and cure it! (Sorry for my poor english!)
The finger with prints is amazing 😂I never even could have imagined that
i will probably never get my nails done but at this point i might know more about nails than my loved ones that always get their nails done. ANYWAYS… always love watching your videos. so therapeutic. ❤️
I saw a trick using a clear jelly stamper to push down the decals and cure with a uv flash light. They may even make a tool for that
Yaaaay a halloween video!! I am loving the little asmr parts!! Hope you are doing good💖
Emily you look soo gorgeous in this video!! I'm OBSESSED with your hair!! I wish I could do my hair like that! Loveeee youuu

I love the idea of stencils! Now I’ve gotta go look for some. This set is awesome as always.
Hearing your file and drill is the opposite of asmr for me js. Otherwise absolutely love your videos, you have helped my nail art hobby so much!
And without saying the s word, I really like when you put them on your nails and I put some on my nails too. Especially I really liked your recent purple set with the webs French tips
Loved watching this!!!❤❤❤
Lovely tutorial! Spare your eyes and invest in a really good magnifying lamp, it's awesome for small detailed work!❤
Why have I never thought of templates for designs!!!!?? I want some of those but I'm definitely gonna try plastic wrap!
❤❤❤ Thank you for another amazing video! I was actually watching your videos from 6 years ago when you uploaded 😊
Such a long time! Thank you 💗
Try Saran Wrap and it hold the decal down so it conforms to your nail
The packages are so cute
I was thinking you were gonna use the seran wrap method to get them to lay flat. Would that not have worked? Just wondering. Still beautiful nails! You continue to grow and improve every time you do your nails!
I watch your videos anyway but as a beginner, the “EASY” really pulled me in 😅❤

Love this set👻🎃
So I almost bought these but I didn’t because a lot of the images were just to large for nails. But from an artist perspective a clear base coat before would be the best method
Not sure if anyone mentioned this, but you can bend the page a little to get the decals up! Getting it into a ‘C’ shape should do the trick
I loved the ASMR section ❤

The asmr sequence ❤ reminds me of those restoration channels
I think that’s what made me wanna do it cause I’ve been into watching those lately 😝
@@EmilySusanah you could have a fallback career sandblasting rusty items for sure
Oh how I loved the nails!! ☺️☺️☺️ You are so talented!!!

I gotta get some of those stencils! How cool!

Love these, so cute...
Have you tried the method of getting glitter smooth on the nail by using plastic wrap? Maybe that would work on these decals too.
