  • In March of 2019 Sami traveled to the Outer Banks, North Carolina, to pop and jig for bluefin tuna. In this video you see an amazing strike on his Hammerhead Cherry Asymmetry 240 lure. The rod was a Saltywater Tackle Monster Ledge 300.

What a close call setting the hook on that first fish. Stay against the gunnel my man!

Sami was that lure rigged with your typical OBX setup single hook assist off the nose/single hook tail??

Hi Dan, No it was rigged with single at the belly and the tail, no assist used on that set up.

Saltywater Tackle That assist setup has been excellent for me after seeing you use it. How would you compare the Monster Ledge 300 to the Race Point 300 when actually connected to the fish in terms of power and forgiveness? Thanks Sami, always absolutely love the content you provide!

Hi Dan, the Shut off point of the Monster Ledge 300 is different than the Race Point 300. i would say they both have the same power but the bend is different keeping in mind that the Monster Ledge 300 is longer. i honestly don't see any forgiveness when you tend to use any of those 2 rods, the 300 series for both are made for the avid experienced angler to target big fish.
