    Car haulers are probably the most innovative truckers out there.I have seen them come out with some of the most amazing solutions to car transportation.

    Have done that quite a few times over the years. Is a great strategy and trick to learn and comes in handy if PTO breaks or as stated here, your load direction changes.

    Any one else hear him scrape the splash guard while backing up? Good thing it's used and dealer likely wouldn't check. XD

    Thanks, Vegas Trucker! It was the 1st time we'd done it that way! Our load was 'posed to deliver opposite (drops), and this was the only car off at this location. Gotta love dispatch, huh? lol We almost had to unload 8 to get the 1 off! It was a time saver! :o) Crazy, but kewl. Ha ha!

    . . . . and the driver got to charge the dealership for the 1-1/2 hrs normally required to unload, meanwhile spending that spare time in the back room of the adult store. It was a win-win day all around.

      These drivers are usually paid by the loaded mile with a few dollars for each car loaded and unloaded. Husband was a "Car Hauler" for 32 yrs, no hourly pay ! Union usually pays mileage if the truck is moving !

      +GT Stanger Let me check with my Son-In-Law who is a car hauler. My Husband has passed away and I am no longer familiar with the pay scale. Car Hauling is hard on the body as the driver does the loading and unloading one reason why the pay is better than other driving jobs.

      Norma T Hi, Norma. I am sorry to hear about your husbands passing. After reviewing some more videos about auto hauling, I've decided not to pursue employment in that field of work. I do appreciate your help. Thank you

    I can do that, and I don't need you to hold my beer, the car has a cup holder

    Good Vid. I've had to un-load / re-load, nose to tail, like that, 6 times over the years due to mechanical issues. It ain' fun. 'specially by yer-self using a 'spare' company truck as a 'ramp'.
    Don't forget to pin those decks !!! It only takes a second - but can save a life !! It can also save a bumper or a spoiler when the non-supported deck 'sags' when the cargo unit puts it weight on it. Been there and done it - right and wrong.
    Later.

    Why did you put that tiny Accord over the hood? I understand if thats your last car to drop if you have multiple stops,but why didnt you put it behind the sleeper??? PLUS,you have that White Durango pulled too far forward.You have a football field's length between it and the Toyota p/u.That trailer right there is why I have always ran a high side or mid rail....They suck as far as having to do multiple stops...

    • @brandoncaldwell95
      @brandoncaldwell95 8 років тому +3

      would make sense, but you have to clearance to deal with along with weight.

    • @purnuvar
      @purnuvar 7 років тому

      I think what happened in this case has nothing to do with clearance and weight distribution. Since this particular car is honda accord,I believe,with the curb weight around 3500lbs. The only thing that could happen over here is that the driver didn't want to unload the whole trailer just for one car and load the cars back.

      @@purnuvar Purnuvar, the light weight and low height of that car is why it was loaded over the cab, that's how it's related to weight and clearance

      Not many companies have 250,000 dollar forklifts. No dealers ,posts colleges, military etc not going to have this type of equipment. Some auctions and scrap yards have them. Would you want your 50,000 plus car lifted with ine?NOT
      Damage will accur.
