Hi guys, welcome to Marks Irish Kitchen, where I make family friendly recipes that the whole family can enjoy. todays video is for fifteens.
This incredibly easy and quick to prepare traybake tastes like heaven on a plate with its marshmallow, coconutty goodness! I like to use a combination of white and pink marshmallows.
Fifteens are a classic Northern Irish traybake, if not THE classic traybake. Fifteens are also a no-bake traybake and aren’t usually made in a tray. So really they are quite confusing
They are sweet and sticky and delicious and also freeze well, so you can always have some close at hand. If you are going to put some in the freezer, I’d advise placing them between sheets of greaseproof paper, so they don’t stick together.
Ingredients
15 marshmallows, quartered
15 Digestive biscuits or Graham Crackers, crushed
15 glacé/candied cherries, quartered
7 oz or 200g condensed milk (half a regular can)
desiccated coconut
Instructions
Crush the biscuits until they are mostly crumbs, leaving a few larger pieces (about the size of a hazelnut) for texture and place in a large bowl.
Add the chopped marshmallows and cherries.
Pour in the condensed milk and mix until everything comes together, adding a little more condensed milk if you need it.
Place the mixture onto some cling film or greaseproof paper and shape into a log. Cover the outside of the log with the coconut and roll around until it’s covered on all sides.
Wrap it up tightly in a roll and place in the refrigerator for a couple of hours. Slice and enjoy.

So good! Easy for dummy like me to understand. Could someone maybe give me a tip if I add a wee bit too much of a condensed milk? I already ran out of the biscuits, also do we need to put it in the freezer or just a fridge is alright?

@@ashlings390 Nice. Visited the cemetery last time we were there. She has lots of family there. 😎
Is it regular condensed milk or sweetened condensed milk?
Regular condensed milk. Thanks for watching 👍
They are the same, you can't make condensed milk without sugar, condensed milk is just evaporated milk with lots of sugar.
It’s called sweetened condensed milk in USA
@@Anteater23 thanks i will have to remember that
Could you make boxty please?
goodman a women made us these when we were kids and now I shall pass on the tradition
Thanks. I'm hope the next generation enjoys them as much as we do. 👍
Decadent! ☺️ Why is called a tray bake?
That's something no-one really knows because it's not actually baked but it can be served with a cup of tea or coffee along with biscuits, cakes etc. 😋 it is well worth making. 😀
You had only 5 things to get. Get it right or don't put it on the internet. 🙄
You're so right but obviously you've never heard of a suitable substitute. I'm about 100% sure it didn't effect the taste. 👍
He had five things. What are you criticising?
Homey you need to take 5 minutes and chill tf out
