The bells of San Marco

Christmas Day, 2008 by the campanile in the Piazza San Marco. I was trying to keep the swirling, gusting wind off the microphone. This may result in some banal footage of people milling about. It is the sound from this campanile I wanted to capture most of all. It is one of the most magical and haunting sounds I have ever heard.

I'm glad you like it. I was fumbling to get the camera ready to record but my fingers were too cold to respond, the wind was bitingly cold!
According to the exif data (and I don't know how accurate that is) it was recorded at 18.39 on Christmas Day 2008. Probably the time used is GMT.
