Each plane has a Class Type that determines how it will behave when performing certain tasks, this is not visible in the Full Mission Builder. This is hard coded with java files (com\maddox\il2\objects\air\) and they must be decompiled if you wish to see this information. Though it is pretty obvious what Type a plane is by just knowing basic historical information about it.
Here are some decompiled Class files in case you want to check it out for yourself: www.sas1946.co...
Some examples of the plane Types:
TypeAcePlane : Used to designate ace aircraft from default game
TypeAmphibiousPlane : With appropriate FM settings, allows them to land on water
TypeBNZFighter : Variant of above, but will attack more often in vertical plane
TypeBomber : Level bomber, with proper code allows for use of bombsight
TypeDiveBomber : Will engage in dive bombing when above a certain altitude
TypeDockable : Can be attached to another aircraft e.g. parasite fighter, refuelling
TypeFighter : Readily engages in air-to-air combat (in particular other fighters)
TypeFighterAceMaker : Aircraft equipped with gyro gunsight
TypeGlider : Glider, can attach via cable to a defined carrier aircraft
TypeSailPlane : sea plane
TypeScout : but maybe makes aircraft less likely to engage in aerial combat?
TypeStormovik : Performs ground attack. Without this, aircraft will only level bomb
TypeStormovikArmored : Seems to be exclusively used by the Il-2, but I presume it makes these aircraft more conservative in evasive manouevres due to their extra armour?
TypeTNBFighter : I believe it is same as fighter, but suspicion is it will never attack vertically
TypeTransport : Unsure, but like scout, presume it makes them unable to engage in aerial combat.
TypeX4Carrier : Required for aircraft that carry X-4 missiles

Also excuse my sloppy editing, some empty frames snuck in two or three times when I was compressing clip velocity.
Game version for this IL-2 1946 video was 4.13.4
Thank you very much. :)
These tutorials are awesome.. I wonder if this game has this information at least in a text form somewhere
I am having an issue where my dive bombers want to strafe targets after dive bombing them instead of just taking off after the next waypoint. Half the time they are also just diving, releasing their bombs then ramming into the ground trying to maybe strafe something. Any help would be appreciated.
I have also encountered this issue in the FMB and I have found a temp fix to this, not the most ideal for early war campaigns/missions. The B-2 Stukas will not strafe their targets after their dive bomb run, they will just head to their next waypoint. Even if you set 2 targets for them to attack (one to bomb, one to strafe) they will only attack the 2nd target with their bombs if their first target was destroyed. However the D variants of the Stukas will strafe their targets. I recently did a Kursk mission with the D-5 variant and after bombing a T-34 Column, they used their heavy machine guns to strafe what was left of the column.
I think the AI thinks in terms of "firepower", even the B-2 won't attack soft targets with their machine guns whereas the D-5 has heavy front mounted machine guns.
Hope this helps, sorry I couldn't be more useful
Pls help me the avengers aren't using their torpedoes properly, they are just dropping it and the torpedoes just act like normal bombs, I'm trying to make the avengers torpedo a moving aircraft carrier but it ain't workin
whick is button that allow you to view the falling bomb?
This should show it. Called Ordinance Camera View and you need to map a key to it. Exists only after versions 4.13m

@@andrejsygur thank you a lot
Music?

which mod and what mad did you use?
No mods were used, the map is named "MTO" (should be the 10th map on the left).
Running the game version 4.13.4 with no mods installed.
Andrej Sygur thank you this really helped me ALOT, you've just earned a like and a Sub, keep up the good work
Andrej Sygur also which key did you press to watch the bomb fall and se other planes?
To watch the bomb fall you must bind a new key to the control "Ordinance Camera View", it can be found at the bottom of the VIEWS controls. (Ordinance Camera View is a feature included in 4.13 versions of the game).
To see other planes in the external view use these keys:
Ctrl + F2 :: Enemy external camera view
Shift + F2 :: Friendly external camera view
I personally use F10 as my Ordinance Camera View.
Andrej Sygur you sir; is the best tutorial teacher Ever, as i said before keep up the good work
