Hello Refika, I am vegan and I have recently found this channel. This is my favourite Turkish recipe and I am really thankful that you do vegan recipes as well. I love your videos and energy. You and the team are amazing. Can you make more recipes with isot pepper, this is my favourite spice. Thank you! Greetings from Bulgaria 🌟
Can I just say how much I love Bahar's comments from behind the camera. It's like Refika has her little sidekick in each show. 😂😂 Çok güzel güzel olmuş, Refika's Kitchen'in takımı. 🥰🥰 Seve seve yapacağım. Almanya'dan selamlar
I'll need to save this recipe for when I have plenty time but I hope to try it because it sounds and looks so interesting and delicious. I'm so glad you don't only focus on quick or complex recipes but give us plenty variety. I made some pomegranate sour after watching your video about it and wow it so good I need to make more while we have pomegranates because I've already used quite a bit of the batch I made! Thank you for making my life more delicious 😁 and of course, as always, making me smile as you share not only your recipes but also your love.
My husband and I watch you daily. I want him to make semit!!! He made your cabbage rolls and they were “outta this world” delicious! Keep up your fabulous show! We love, love it all!!!!!!! From Toad Suck, Arkansas
For such a long time I was omitting trying cig köftes and kisir just because they didn't look that appetizing to me on screen (everyone was saying how tasty they are, I know), but man, oh man, once I tried them, I understood why they were saying so 😍it's delicious ngl 🤤
there were cig koftes's made with raw meat. you're possibly missing all the real joy. I really miss that now every cig kofte is 100% vegan coz raw meat is forbidden in food.
Finally a chikofte I can eat. In our house, there was chikofte every Sunday with kebab... I never liked the idea of raw meat. Can't wait to try this. Thank you
Merhaba Sevgili Refika ve ekibi. Boyle akici Ingilizce ile tarif vermeniz beni cok mutlu etti. English arkadaslarim Turkish tarifler istediginde bu sayfayi onerecegim. Gercekten cok tesekkur ederim. Iyi varsiniz, Turk yemeklerinin dunyaca taninmasina destek oldugunuz icin sonsuz tesekkurler. ❤️💐
Hi team, I love this technique❤ Each and every time you make a vegan or vegetarian dish Refika, I get so excited. BTW Yagiz is adorable and I wish him all the happiness and success.
Congratulations to Yagiz & Bahar's great editing! This video is full of joy, love & great friendship and it made me feel good & happy....so Merci! I didn't try Cig Kofte when I was in Istanbul but it looks worth the effort and I can cook and work on my forearms, definitely better than going to the gym to pump up some iron! 😂😂 Love the idea of Gabriela about a summer school....hoping it'll come reality???
Thank you so much for this recipe…we've eaten cig köfte two years ago during our vacation in belek. we loved it😍 Dear Refika, you and your team are absolutely awesome!
A Labor of Love by you all. I am in awe of the size of your radishes. Rafika, you are such a beautiful soul and a delight to watch. If I could drop by for a Turkish coffee, I would do it in a heart beat. Love you sunshine. Keep shining on. Keep well. 🌞💖👏🇨🇦
Wohoww am so happy I can do this ! Have alwasy thought of it !! I normally use pomegranate sour especially with side dishes and rainbow salad with the dressing ..thank you ,I am happy I pressed the bell ! The video popped up on my list ! Yuppy
Amazing! That is a must try rocker..Thanks a ton Refika & your gorgeous team..I find myself smiling away at the bonhomie & camaraderie your beautifully warm posts exude.Lovely!Stay blessed as always.
It is so nice to see Yağız advancing in his cooking career! I happen to have a bag of very fine bulgur and was wondering what to do with it. Not sure I have the stamina for this recipe, but maybe :) Do you think smoked paprika might be a good substitute for isot?
I am so glad I had it with meat! I was so surprised upon returning to Turkey and learning it was now made with bulgar.. I did not have a chance to try that type before I had to return to the state because of a severe illness.. maybe I will try to do this myself. love the show
I am a Turkish vegetarian woman living in the States who keeps watching the English channel. People who don’t know Turkish believe me this channel is so much fun (maybe funnier than the Turkish channel 🙊). I am a big fan of Refika🤩 I share her recipes with my American friends and take them to the Turkish grocery store to buy these unique ingredients. Lastly, of course, I bought Refika’s knife when I visited Turkey 🙃
How exciting! I haven't had this kofte in so many years, and now I can make it for all my vegetarian friends--fantastic. Yagiz (sorry for not have the right diacritical marks), I'm looking forward to seeing more of you in the future. And I *love* the idea of the poster below to have a school--that would be huge fun.
I got isot pepper in Australia under the name urfa biber, and it's one of the best spices out there. I like to put it in my pilafs, roast pumpkin, and tomato-based stews. I look forward to using it in this :)
I just watched your other kofte recipe and I was getting ready to ask if there was a vegan recipe then I looked at the list and there it was! Thank you!
I am Vegan and recently a restaurant with the name of this food is opening near by thàts why I searched it now that I watched your video I be following you you are so light and kindly explaining 🥰 and also I’m more excited to go to that restaurant to try the Vegan Çingokofte
Greating from Canada.Isot pepper is available from the spice treckker in Canada.Continue your work with your team, love your recipe and the technique.Thank for the vegan recipe because let's be honest the price of meat like so many thing things have increase.
Oooh! I don't know if my arthritis will be able to handle this, but I'll have to try it out and see-- I'm phobic of getting badly burned using the oven & stove bc of a few bad experiences in my childhood, so this kind of thing is def up my alley. If my hands can't handle it, this might be what makes me get a stand mixer, though.
Bahar's hair is so cute!!! The kofte looks good and in spite of the HOURS OF KNEADING seems rather simple! You're right that I don't have the pepper paste or that other kind of pepper, but I do have soy sauce!
Congrats to Yagiz and welcome, lovely to see a new face with new ideas! 🤗 I can’t wait to try this, though I will have to adapt it for gluten sensitivities. I have been looking for a good meat alternative that holds together. I find most bean based are far too runny, even after baking them to remove moisture!
Tonight I am in cappadocia.. I love 🇹🇷 through your words..all the way from india I am visiting here these days. Amazing.. I tasted many foods you show on channel.. I miss u refika and teams..
Oh lala Refika, one of my best friends Who is Turkish made those for me..it was abolutely heaven!! I did not dare making them..but you make it look to easy!!I will try it I promise! ❤🇨🇦🇩🇿
Welcome Yağız! I am drooling! I will totally make this, but the "cheater" way since I have problems with the joints in my hands and simply won't be able to knead that long. KitchenAid for the win! 😃
I made this not long ago but instead of cumin I added sumac and allepo peppers with Urfa biber. I add pomegranate sour. If you use a kitchen aid, use a box grater for the onion and make sure you drain the water or else you'll never get the bitter out.
Hi dear Refika! I am really so happy with your recipes and with your kitchen clues! I now have a video request. I love the Turkish savory cornbread with feta cheese, but I was looking for a recipe that fits a twelve muffin pan, because that would be so beautiful to serve and ready preportioned to freeze! Sadly there is no such a recipe out there for me to find on UA-cam, so I thought maybe you could create one! I guess it would turn out gorgeous ☺️👍🌟✨
We at my home make using besan or flour of Bengal gram. One may add other types of lentil/ legume flour or coarse ground lentil/ legumes too.. and some veggies if you like . It's completely vegan and gluten free too.. do try ' thali peeth bhazani' and ' upwas bhazani' these are flour mixes, the former is made of various lentil and legumes and the latter is made of amaranth, water chestnut flour etc specially meant for making fasting day meals..
We actually have another version which is made with half bulgur and half red lentils, (mercimekli köfte) it has a milder taste and goes well with a onion heavy tomato salad
I haven't even seen the video yet but am so happy to see Vegan meatballs! In India Street food rage is- soybean flour tandoori smoked soya chaap tikkas that are difficult to replicate in home kitchens so this video was manifested for me ☺
This video was so full of life and so beautifully made! I had indeed seen your videos made for subway stations of Istanbul a while ago and now was thinking of making cigkofte for my friends, but it definitely looks harder than I’d imagined 😁
Vegetarians will actually find that Turkey is a vegetarian friendly place despite the country being more well known for kebabs. When I was there , I had no problem finding lots of veggie dishes in their locanta - which is like Turkish style restaurants. Wana visit them soon

I didn’t think I’d like this but it looks really good. Wow! You radish is huge!!!
Thank you very much for the vegan-friendly recipe !! love from Seattle! ❤

Genius recipe, the ingredients are very tempting. And I love your humor. Well done and approaching 500000, yeah
yayyy!!! sooo glad to hear this 🙏🏻🙏🏻
You are amazing 🌸love your details recipes of Turkish style 💐
I love your energy
I haven't even seen the video yet but am so happy to see Vegan meatballs! In India Street food rage is- soybean flour tandoori smoked soya chaap tikkas that are difficult to replicate in home kitchens so this video was manifested for me ☺
Vakti gelmişti. Çiğ köfte candır can!
katılıyoruz ve arttırıyoruz! ❤️❤️
I love cig kofte and your channel
This video was so full of life and so beautifully made! I had indeed seen your videos made for subway stations of Istanbul a while ago and now was thinking of making cigkofte for my friends, but it definitely looks harder than I’d imagined 😁
Vegetarians will actually find that Turkey is a vegetarian friendly place despite the country being more well known for kebabs. When I was there , I had no problem finding lots of veggie dishes in their locanta - which is like Turkish style restaurants. Wana visit them soon
Hi Refika,
I am SPEECHLESS!!
i have tried cigköfte soo many times..
Once follwing exactly the recipe, once just trusting my own feeling.. but there was always something missing..
Adding ground nuts was the missing thing. I have made your cigköfte today and I was going crazy.. can't wait to make it again and try out adding soy sauce.. i was not surprised that yagiz was irritated about it in first instance, but I exactly knew what you aim with it. It can add some umami into it..
Long story short... THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THIS RECIPE!!!
Keep going like this, wish you a lot of success!!!
I love Bahar's little mischievous editing in this video lol
What a great option to have when my vegetarian friends come over!
Amazing recipe Refika!! Keep doing n keep going well!
Nice, I have all the Turkish ingredients bar the very fine bulgur. Though I think I can get that online if I look around. Sounds like an ideal spring/summer dish... so maybe not today after the storms & snow we've been having in the UK this week.
Loving the sound & idea of all the fresh tasty ingredients. It's one of the few Turkish dishes that you've made on the show that I've never tried before. So I really have to eat it now.
Look after yourselves & thank you fora great video..
I've found it on Amazon.
@@lillyess385 Prompted your message just had a look & found it too. Not expensive either. So I may be trying the recipe out sooner than I thought.
Thank you for the hint. 😁
Fine bulgur is also a good storage food. To make it edible, you only add hot water and salt and wait.
So you can use it as a carbohydrate filler/base for whatever else you have as a side. Like canned beans etc... It's application is sort of like ramen cups, but without the seasoning, and much healthier.
Çiğköfte is a dish that can be eaten in all seasons. There are shops selling Çiğköfte on the streets, it doesn't matter when you eat Çiğköfte in the morning, noon and evening. You should definitely try it🤍🤍🤍
Thanks Refika for vegan recipes, Refika rocks
Refika, I love watching your channel! I wonder if you can tell me the difference between Turkish, Greek, and Italian oreganos? I'm familiar with the difference between Greek and Italian, so I'm wondering if Turkish is closer to one or the other, or if it's a whole different thing.
Thanks! Keep up the great work!
“I open the ears of it…” I absolutely adore how Refika wastes nothing.
Hi Yaglz and of course Refika,
Excellent first debut we enjoyed the duet very much. In London we have a white burgle or crack weed the very fine medium and coarse the brown one can I substitute please . I am going to use my Kenwood mixer 🤪👌👌
I remember when I was last in Istanbul there was a restaurant called "Bulgar King", near Sisli mosque.
Hello Refika, congrats for the effort, I try to make most of the dishes made by you, I get impressed with the type of Copper tinted utensils you use, I am travelling to Istanbul in April, can you please let me know where can I find those type of utensils in Istanbul. If there are any shop names you can suggest it would be great, Thanks.
Love you guys!
I really appreciate your recipes thanks for sharing

Bahar is a comedian at heart. 😂❤
