My mother had 5 brothers who fought in WW2.Uncle charlie was in the invasion of the phillipines,shirley fought thru north africa to northern italy until the surrender.Jessie clyde was captured in normany on the 7th of june 44,a day after the invasion.He was sent to dresden,and was ordered to pull out dead civilians after the bombing of dresden and bury them.Claude was also fighting in italy until the surrender.He later joined the merchant marines for 2 yrs,then he rejoined the army into the 82nd airbourne division.He fought in korea winning a silver star, and later was hand picked to become one of the first special forces soldiers.He was one of the first advisors sent to vietnam and did some work for the cia,retiring in 1963 as a master sargent.Howard served on the enterprize aircraft carrier during WW2 and retired after 20 yrs.Hank retired from the coast guard.Than linda for this fine video.Oh,i have all of my uncles service records.I also served for 11.5 yrs in the army tank corps.
A side note about adolph galland.The german airforce ( Luftwaffe), found out that 6 U.S. airmen were being held in a concentration camp.They went to rescue them and bring them to a Luftwaffe p.o.w. camp.The SS said no,your not! Then general gallant showed up,pistol drawn,and said,yes we are! While the american flyiers were being brought out, a captain of gallants men sneaked over and took a crap in the front drivers seat of an SS staff car.The Luftwaffe and regular army german troops hated the SS,because they were cold blooded murderes.

@@lindaeastburn1472 My Grandfather John William Denny was inlisted With the 28th Maori Battalion from New Zealand 🇳🇿 WII( Temporary Sargent) Whom fought along the Allies mentioned above. Then After Nagisawa n Hiroshima bombings. Enlisted with the Jayforce in Japan 🇯🇵 to repatriate the Countrys Citizens. (4-5yrs). Come home, got Married. Had 3 Beautiful Children n Passed away of Bowel Cancer ♋️ in his 58th year in Sept 1976. I was Born Jan 77. So Just Missed meeting him at birth. He was staunch to the War efforts n Cause. And I’m great full for the way paved by All Allies that banded together here, to be able to have had n stil have the beautiful life I lead n live with my family. LEST WE FORGET!!! Salute 🫡
