    Thank you for those comments that were constructive. I can take criticism of myself, but will delete anything demeaning about Angela. Regarding the small raise rule about folding with 21 outs, I count only single cards that will beat you as an "out." Considering two-card combinations that will beat you is muddying the water too much. I should have mentioned that in the video. The dealer is a real dealer in Vegas, but wasn't trained in Ultimate Texas Hold 'Em, so I apologize for any procedural errors. Thank you for watching.

      Thank you for clearing that up because the 21 rule had me going crazy for a bit but now that it's been clarified, I'm feeling much more relaxed. I have seen rules that say you should only make the small raise if you have a pair or better, if the board is paired up and you have the third best kicker, or if the 5 community cards make a straight or better. By the way miss Angela and the dealer are beautiful

    I've played twice using a similar strategy. The first time I turned $400 into about $3,000. And over the weekend, I turned $200 into $1,000. I wasn't sure when to bet/not bet on the end so the 21-outs on the board is helpful.

    I totally agree about side bets. But if I am up at an ultimate texas holdem table, or if I am winning from playing previous casino tables I am tossing a $1 chip on the progressive. The thoughts of making that royal on the flop and not having a chip on that bet gives me nightmares lol...

    Thanks, Wizard of Odds; please ignore the rude comments. As a newcomer to this game, I found your video very easy to follow (the game almost seems too easy; but I like the odds of this game over 21). I'm heading to Treasure Island Casino in MN in the morning; no real poker on Tuesdays, so I will have to spend the day playing this game, with a minimum buy in and playing just the basics as you describe, so that I can stay in the game and walk home with out losing too much in a day of enjoying my first experience with Ultimate Texas. THANKS AGAIN.

    Follow the Wizard's advice and try out the game on a $5 minimum table. Play your $5 ante and blind and not the trips. Then the most you can lose on any given hand is $30 if you bet the maximum. It is good for learning. The 21 rule works, but I found I am betting either the 4x (max) or the 2x well before the 1x decision comes into play. Listen to how he explains things for the different bets and just write it down. Go to the wizardofodds.com website and practice...then go to the casino and have some fun. Also, get a players card so you can accrue comps. That's where you really make your money....free rooms...free food....etc.

    I'm confused when you say make the medium raise if you have 2 pair or better OR a hidden pair except pocket deuces. Isn't the 2 pair requirement redundant if you're already going to raise with a hidden pair (5 cards)? Surely you don't mean a pocket pair because you would already have made the big raise with a pocket pair.

    I just performed a test of Mike's strategy at his website at wizard of odds. I was playing $25 per hand and I played 50 hands. I won 30 hands and made $787.50
    I can't believe I did so well and I was not even employing the 21 outs rule, I just stuck to the rest of the strategy. My final bankroll could have been a little more
    because there were a couple of hands when I knew I had crap cards after the river and I wanted to fold, but the software said that was the wrong move so I called
    to see what would happen and each time I still lost. Too bad this wasn't real money. Can't wait to hit a casino or two in Lake Charles to try this out.

Can the casino rig the video version to a preset house advantage regardless of how good a players strategy is? In other words, should the video version of this game be as trustworthy as the table game itself?

      Yik Wai Donald Leung I would guess that being able to see other players' hands would not raise your advantage or have a negative affect on the House edge. I say that simply because the cards are shuffled after about every other hand. That being said, you really can't try to predict what you might get. Most casinos use continuous auto-shuffler machines at this table.

    • @mressay
      @mressay 8 років тому +1

      +obiwanfisher537 Well, the guy you talked to has no idea what he is talking about. The odds on the game are by far the best odds for a carnival game, and the odds challenge the odds of blackjack etc. Now, if you play all of the side bets then your odds go down dramatically. Playing optimal, you have a less than 2.5% house advantage (which is incredibly good). If you play the trips then the house has less than 2.5% on your ante, blind, and play bets BUT the house also has about a 3.5% advantage on the trips bet.
      If you play the progressive or "millionaire maker" then you odds go down even more dramatically. If you want to have a little fun then play the trips and suffer a little worse odds. Do not ever play the progressive or millionaire maker. Those bets are horrible.

      @BMGipe45 8 років тому

      +thaichi23 But he only counted 19 and told her to call. He neglected a flush, 67, Q10, and QJ as hands that beat you

    • @mressay
      @mressay 8 років тому

      +BMGipe45 Yes, he did neglect a flush. What you would do in that situation is count the flush outs that are available, which would put you well over 21. If there are flush opportunities and nobody on the table has shown their hand (which is legal in some casinos but illegal in places like Flamingo) then I would just assume that there are a lot of flush outs and just assume a fold.

    • @BMGipe45
      @BMGipe45 8 років тому +1

      +Richey Robbins The only thing I can think of to justify the call is if he is only counting single card outs, any K, any 9, any 8, any 5, any 4, or any A. For the extra hands that beat her (flush, 67, Q 10, QJ, or any pocket pair) I'm guessing those don't get counted since it takes both hole cards to matter, not just one. Kind of like when calculating outs for yourself, you don't really factor runner-runner possibilities, only when one card improves you.

    • @mressay
      @mressay 8 років тому

      +BMGipe45 That probably is the case. I do know that I do not factor in flushes unless there are 4 to the flush on the board. I do not factor a straight unless it is 4 to the straight. Otherwise I think the odds are so crazy with having to calculate the dealer with two hole cards that trying to factor those into the situation is too difficult. I love the game though, and the odds work. However, you need to have a decent bankroll in order to cover your cold streaks. If you only bring $100 and get nothing for the first few hands then you are already out before the odds start playing out. I believe starting with at least $300....$200 at minimum is needed for a $5 minimum bet game. $200 is actually pushing it.

    He's missing a few things that are different; at least at the California Indian casinos. First, the dealer lays out the the five flop, turn and river cards. Then the dealer deals out the two cards to the players then the dealers cards. Of course, all face down. Second. The cards are shuffled by a machine with each slot in the machine holding five cards. I can't prove it, but I believe the machine reads and rigs the cards, for the most part, in the house's favor, but also rigs it for the players just to keep them playing. The secret is to know when to walk away from the table. Whether your up or down. Remember, also, every time someone gets up, leaving a void, or sits down, filling a void, it changes the dynamics of the cards. I always do the best when 3-4 players are at the table. Find your niche and stick with it.

      I dont disagree. I played heads up against the dealer and they manually shuffled the cards. I won a lot of hands that night. In your 21 out "theory" you don't take into consideration that there are three hearts on the board? There are 13 hearts in the deck. Her one heart plus three on deck leaves nine. With 9 cards dealt that means one in 5 cards can be a heart. (As demonstrated two diamonds dealt) You are going to raise blind into a three flush? Also a 6-7 beats to a straight. I agree with your strategy, but it could be way safer. Three flush, straight possibility say don't raise! Take the push. I know the odds or two cards to straight are low, but two cards to flush not so low. Why push the button on something when you can and will push or lose very little rather than raise? Now with multiple players you can count cards out, but I am pretty sure this game is not played with one deck... so the whole philosophy goes out the window. 21 out rule with a 2-3 deck stack... forget it.

    • @Nosirt
      @Nosirt 2 роки тому +1

      The rule of 21 is just the probability of you being beaten. The flush and straight need 2 cards to beat you. This makes the probability less than .5%, or less than 1 card (given 1/52 on possible 2 card out of 52).
      So in fact, you can ignore the flush and straight possibles as well as trips because they will always be less than 5% chances of getting.
      This is of-course only when it’s 3 flush- with a 4 liner, you count all the flush or straight possibles as well as trips.
      Think of it like this, the rule of 21 is just that after your 2 card and community 5 cards, there are 45 more cards left that could be dealer cards. 21/45= 46%, or less than 50. If dealer has less than 50% of making the hand, you have 4% chances of winning it. This is just with the pairs. Now let’s calculate your flush and stright possibles too. There are 3 hearts, so dealer needs any combination of 2 Hearts to beat you, there are 9 hearts left, so 9/45, or 20% chance and the next card is 8 hearts left with 44 cards, or 8/44, or 18%, together it’s 3% chances of getting a flush. This basically means the chances of the dealer making flush is half as much as chance of dealer making a single pair (6% with 3/45).
      And the possibility of a straight is always no more than (4/45)*(4/44)= .8%, or less than 1% or 1/6 the probability of making a pair. When added together:
      The probability of the dealer making a flush OR a straight is 3+1, 4% which if you remember, rule of 21 means there are 21 cards that make pair to make you lose, so 21/45= 46%, 46+4= 50%.
      So in the worst case senerio, with flush and stright draw, the rule of 21 when it’s exactly 21 gets you even money- and when it’s less than 21 gets you winning hand some small percentage time.
      Basically, the flush and straight possibles are already calculated, this is why the rule of 21 goes to 46% and not 50%.

    This is one of the biggest sucker games out there
    you have to put an anti and a blind bet. If you lose
    you lose both but if you win with less than a straight then
    you only win your anti and push on the blind, so lets say you bet
    $ 25 anti you must put $25 on the blind, your betting $50 to win $25 if
    you lose you lose both.
    unless your hand is a straight or better, to me the blind is a forced side bet
    and all side bets are sucker bets, especially if you have to make it.

    I wouldn't raise on A because I have got beaten even with pocket A and still got beat by two pair its like the card machine dealer know how to just beat since they know exactly how many players is playing so it's not a hard drain at all....the only thing I hate about this game if dealer don't qualify it's just even pay out u don't win shit

      Yeah its bs. Last time i played fucking dealer was hitting face card pairs the whole time and i had all 9 or lower. I dont trust the auto shufflers. Cant see how theyre being shuffled.

      +drew duenwald It's a basic "how to play" video, NOT "how to deal" video. Although, pretty much all of the acting, dealing, talking to the camera, was pretty terrible. Probably unrehearsed and all done on the first take.

      how much were you betting? it's best to prepare 100x table min for this game to bank the variance. So If you were playing 10 dollars, it's overbetting. usually, I'd even bring 300-400 table min to ensure a good session. I've lost 100 dollars on 5 dollar tables really fast, and have tripled it in 20 hands or so as well, so this game is swingy as hell.

    um... the dealer has alot more outs than that dummy. She can also have 22, 33, 66, 77, 1010, jj AA added to that also, this guy is slow.
