  • A polymer clay skinner blend is one of the most basic polymer clay techniques. It’s a base technique. It’s used in just about any area of polymer clay art from canes to surface techniques and is a must if you’re getting started with polymer clay. In this tutorial I’ll be showing the basic two color skinner blend, but I’ll be showing a three color skinner blend and a rainbow skinner blend in coming tutorials.

    Thank you for sharing. Even though I have been "claying" for many years, I am still learning new tricks and techniques. Your UA-cam techniques have taught me a lot.

    Thank you for this excellent video. I do other crafts, but have wanted to add polymer clay. I struggle dreadfully. I totally understand that you really should have the skinner blend down before you go on to anything else. I just can't do it. I just get one colour of long clay. I can say there is _no-one_ who explains the technique so clearly. I feel confident to try again, with your video close by. Your work is beautiful too. Thank you again.

      Abbey Stewart same here!!! My tissue blade and I have also not gotten aquatinted! Cut myself within 10 minutes, lol :)

      @@heatherpsyd Dear Heather, a great way to prevent cutting yourself is: get a bottle of any bright nail polish you have at home and paint 2 marks on the tissue blade, one mark on each end of the side you're meant to hold, the blunt side. This will remind you where to take hold of it. Or, Sculpey sells a set of 3 tissue blades that I bought quite cheaply online, and they come with handles that fit all the blades. Good luck. If I want the skinner blend to be wider? Wider enough for a trinket dish for example do I use bigger bigger triangles is that going to make it wider?

    • @JessamaTutorials
      @JessamaTutorials  4 місяці тому

      Yes. You're only limited to the width of your pasta machine so use as triangles as large as you want.
