So it sounds like the multimedia function keys work only on Mac computers. Still stand by my original recommendation of not getting this keyboard, I still don't really think it's worth the $75, even with working function keys. If you have any other good keyboards that beat this for the price I would love to hear

I agree that it would be nice for them to work in Windows as well as Mac OS but definitely not a reason to give it a "Don't Buy This" suggestion if that's the biggest issue you can find with the keyboard IMO. All that said, I can agree that at a $70 to $80 price point there are some better options out there to consider before purchasing this specific though. I recently picked this keyboard up off Amazon for $34 and I got to say that it's actually a really good deal for a pretty decent keyboard at that price. It won't win any awards due to some of the other small issues you mentioned, but it doesn't mean that it's a horrible keyboard and nobody should buy it just because the multimedia keys don't work in Windows. I've been using an rk71 for about a year now on my pc and absolutely love it! It's a solid little keyboard and I love that I can pair with up to 5 devices.
@@AMUSTYPANDA I know it's not hard to do with the manual instructions. I cant recall the keystroke, but I usually use it plugged into my pc via a braided cable. I think linus did a review of it showing the pairing process.
FYI to use the Mac volume & other secondary Fn keys you can toggle them with Fn + Ctrl. I like the keyboard a lot for the price, it's perfect to use with my hackintosh.

That does work. I mean using the fn + ctrl does activate the multimedia keys. However the challenge is you lose the primary function of the number keys. Is there any way to preserve the number keys but using fn + f(some number) invokes the multimedia functionality.
Most lilekely a driver issue, I remember one day when my extrafunction keys stopped working and I had to troubleshoot, however they should address this in the manual though...

Just wanted to share that I bought this kb like a month ago and it started malfunctioning 2 keys and I got mad af lol but I found out that cleaning with alcohol isopropyl 99% may fix that issue so I clean every switch and now works fine :)
Are there any indicators if it is fully charge other than the space bar flashing 5X? it is very easy to miss especially when im not using it. Older models turns the space bar red when fully charged, but mine does not.
I think the reason of this problem is u bought the first generation of this keyboard , it's way more better in the second generation, it has pbt key caps and more ! so yeah.

I’ve only tried this one, but the magicforce looks promising. It’s also much cheaper. I really just don’t think this RK71 is worth $70, based on how bad the metallic pinging and extra noise when typing is.

@@AbhishekKumar-vx9ub Ducky SF uses nonstandard keycaps, so you'd have difficulties changing them out if you want to replace them. I'd say between the Womier K66 and the Magicforce board. Definitely watch reviews before you buy though, I haven't used either one of these
@@zashmnk Why don't you lube it? You don't need to desolder, just use superlube and drop 1 drop in each corner of the key with the switch pressed down. Then press the switch up and down a bunch. The superlube is like 5$ on amazon and comes with its own applicator/needle. Easy asf look it up
For 75 usd, it’s an atrocious price. Here in the Philippines you can get it for less than 40usd. I read if you buy it in Hong Kong or China you can get it for 30-20 usd. Those import fees are either nuts or someone is making a killing.

I had no problem using the volume/media keys. FN+CTRL will enable, then same again to disable. So a little back and forth.

Hey, one question, are the back panel plates surrounding the RGB white?
They're light blue which looks pretty nice and you don't notice it when look dead on. Also, you can mask off the led's and just spray paint it.
