First time I heard this song was Christmas day 1981. I asked my parents to get the album for me as a gift. I will never forget hearing it that day. You did a fantastic job!!!
Bill Bruford always has a way of making odd time sound natural , but what gets me is his rolls are almost always an odd number !! Nice playing as always Larry !!
This is great! Excellent and precise transcription and drumming! As a drummer, I'm revisiting a lot of this music lately that I listened to when it came out. I would love to get a copy of the transcription of this. The links do not seem to work. Still possible.
Hi Todd. Thank you for checking out my video. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Yes, the transcription is available. My website is currently getting a revamp. You can message me through the Facebook link. Cheers! LC
bravo, bravo & bravissimo! What I love the most is the relaxed approach to your performance over the cool time signatures. Love the tune and love your performance, well done!
I am listening to Bill Bruford my whole life. Solo, all the bands he did. Seen him live a few times. You did a fantastic job! Not many drummers covering Bruford. Perhaps you could do Presto Vivace from the UK album. I would love to see that. Thanks for this video.
Hi Raymond, thank you for watching my video. This was a fun one to put together. I'm a big Bill Bruford fan and he was one of my influences. Cheers! Larry
Good one Larry..... Could you please make some tutorials on how to read rythms... like semiquavers notes in combination with quaver and dotted crotchets..... I will be very thankful to you.......
Hi @natalyav3883. There is an example of how to count this time signature 19/16 as the video begins. Think of it as 4/4 with 3 sixteenth notes tagged on the end, so, 1, 2, 3, 4, 123. Or, 1e+ah, 2e+ah, 3e+ah, 4e+ah, 5e+ Ultimately, it's best to learn to hum or sing the synth melody and then play along with that in mind. I hope that helps.
@@masterfuldrumming8408 I saw Allan play the iou material in the half moon pub in putney in 1980. There he was, a unique ground breaking genius. So different & advanced technically & musically compared to other players it was if he was from another planet of super humans. Yet I don't think it was even a full house.
I was given this record when I was 14 and just beginning on drums. I was flabbergasted .
It's a cool album for sure! Thanks for watching!
I had the same problem as a bass player. Should have stuck to Donald 'Duck' Dunn. Jeff Berlin.

Bravo! Your one of the greatest drummers I‘ve ever seen. Your precision makes me speechless. 👍🏼 - Studio drummer?

Great job, Tom,s sound like rototoms, do you play heel down Larry.thanks for all posts epically SD.
Thank you pj. I play mostly heel down, but I also use the heel toe and heel up techniques. It depends on the music.
Fantastic job man, very very tasteful!

Hi Efrain. Thanks for checking out my video and I appreciate the positive feedback! Best wishes Larry
Wow Nice cover dude!!! You have a new fan from Norway!🇳🇴🤩
Hi Fredrik! Thanks so much and greetings from Canada!!!!
Excellent cover and transcription! Would I be correct in saying the main riff is 19/16 time? 1 bar of 4/4 + 3 x 16th notes?
Hi Jim. Thank you for checking out my video. Yes, you are correct 19/16, think of a bar of 4/4 and then add 3 16th's! All the best. Larry
How do you count this rhythm

@@masterfuldrumming8408 Thanks a lot
If only he'd just had allan on guitar playing all the chord work. Then he'd become part of iou
Except that Dave Stewart wrote Hell's Bells. I loved IOU! Thanks for watching my video!
