It's lludicrous that 8s in 9 ball who are below 600 fargo are made to compete with Fargos over 700.

Yeah, its odd. APA has always had a very loose def of what a "pro" is. Would make sense for them to move to a fargo cap maybe. That said his robustness is not very high, but he has a record of beating established pros on occasion in some tourneys, so... 🤷♂
APA's response is always "we don't use fargo ratings."
@@supermanalexk love that response. Meanwhile, this is a single's event and not a 'men's singles' event and this Gary dude is rated higher than all but like 5 women in the entire world.
APA should have big payouts for amateurs . Our local APA league charges $10 per person per night

@@cristiannumber14 I think it's dumb that's it's gotta be in league's favor they should learn to play with tighter pockets that's why diamonds are generally way more challenging than the valley's

Man Gary Abood got old! I met him about 13 years ago. At APA nationals at the Riviera. I played a lot of poker back then and was busting him and other players. Later found out what a good pool player he was. He looked way younger.

Why does the APA disqualify a member from the singles with a 585 Fargo rate because she holds a "pro card"? However a 757 can play in the tournament? This person also owns a bar that allows APA league to play out of her establishment.
It's a technicality and it's not very fair. Women have a professional organization that determines whether you're a pro, and men don't. So guys who play at low to mid-pro level are still technically amateurs by APA standards.
I agree with you. However to take her money and then cancel her from singles competition is questionable.... But the APA has " technicalities"

@@AAAskeet Should be to 2 to 1 or slightly higher actually. According to Mike Page, if you're exactly 100 Fargo points better than your opponent, you should expect to win twice as many games.

@@AAAskeet I see that now, and you're right. It looks the 2:1 comes into play when someone is 109-131 Fargo points above their opponent. So this matchup (in the 63-108 point difference range) is just shy of it. I guess Mike was generalizing when he said 100 points=twice as many wins, as it's actually 109+.

People that complain about using Diamond over Valley tables are the same people that would complain about the car rental company giving you a mercedes to drive vs a Chevy Caprice for the same price.
Especially since they aren’t traditional diamonds. They had the pockets cut to be more forgiving for the apa lol
Noboday would complain about that. Bad players plat on valley tables. If you shoot out of place with a valley. Then your not good at all

Pro pool needs dead money in tournaments to much to limit who can play in a tournament.
Ppl saying he’s a pro but he’s not doing anything I haven’t done or can’t do
niether of these guys are pros, don't think I saw a 1 break and run. Just cause a guy is better than you doesn't make him a pro.
