Thanks for sharing this information. But kindly clear one point that giving anesthetic liquid in nasal cavity doesn't lead to aspiration and respiratory distress in bird while the bird in sedation?? 0.5ml is for 100g bird it means 5ml is for 1kg chicken which seems high amount of liquid.???????
First of all, unlike intramuscular injections, intranasal medication is not given rapidly. It's given dropwise manner. And midazolam gets absorbed from nasal mucosa itself. Usually a full dose is not required. By 2/3rd dose, bird will be sedated.
@abman5842 please do checkout benzodiazepines lecture in Anesthesiology playlist. I can't remember the theoretical dats, especially when they are less frequently used. Bird cases are very rare in field.
Thank u Dr. Sagar, it is very basic but most important video which will help to field veterinarian to tackle the rare cases of birds & lab animals. U elaborated the information in very good manner. Thank u for this lecture. Keep it up.👍

Sir/Ma'am Please consult nearest veterinary dispensary or any NGO who deals with animal activities. No oral anesthetic can sedate the animal. It can only tranquilize upto some extent.

In market tablet or Im/iv preparation is available. which one should be used for intra nasal application
IM/IV Preparation
Is there any other anesthic agent other than midazolam which is safe to use in field condition?
Diazepam and Ketamine can be used. But it's not practical. Hardly, any farmer will be interested for GA.
Can we give midazolam injection into intra nasal or there is other type of midazolam usedfor intranasal
The same midazolam injection is used for intranasal sedation.
WHAT SHOULD BE USED FOR CAPONIZATION
You can use diazepam and ketamine combination.
Congratulations dear
Thank you 😊
If possible can you please give some lectures on turtles or rhodents
Will try didi :)
