Whether you are new to the idea of dressing modestly or it has been on your heart for a long time, I’m sharing why I’ve become more modest over the years and Christian advice for modesty, both in your spirit and in your outward expression. I’m coming with receipts -- telling you how I used to dress versus how I dress now and the effects it has had on my personal development, interactions with others, self esteem and more. I think you’ll be surprised by some of them!

I love being modest. I honestly feel empowered when my body is fully covered. When a man approaches me, I know he’s interested in me and not into my body. Modesty also helped me understand that inner beauty is far more appealing to others than our outer beauty. Thank you Lord for wisdom. Being a God fearing woman is truly an honor.

I will def agree with your there, 5% to 0 cat calls. More compliment from gentlemen, door opening, etc. You give off a different vibe. Modestly is class when done well, but everyone will have their version. Great advice for young women.

I noticed when i wore jeans and went to get 50# bags of chicken feed i always had to load it myself, now when I'm in a dress i don't have to even ask for help but the cashier calls in help for me.

I so loved this! Thank you for sharing! Would love to see your "fashion inspo" and the process of finding/being intentional with buying new clothes! I'm definitely in the stage of feeling uncomfortable wearing what I used to...but haven't found examples of modest fashion that I'd want to base my wardrobe off of.

Oh no! How does it sound for you? Is it just too quiet? Muffled?
God called me to cover myself 2 years ago. He was already giving me this desire for a long time to dress modestly but I didn’t know what it looked like or what reason. The Holy Spirit’s gentle prompting told me this personally:
~Nobody (except my husband) should see your womanly shape~
No drawing too much attention to waist & hips
Nothing showing shape of bottom & front
No upper chest or breasts
No torso
Nothing that a man would wear or looks like belongs to a man
Full arm showing is too much skin
No legs showing
Nothing tight & attention seeking (prints, colors & images that send wrong messages)
It may feel uncomfortable transitioning into modesty dressing around family who may not understand. But please know that God wants US to be sanctified women (set apart with a difference compared to ungodly women) & we can’t look like the people of this world or care what anyone else thinks of our journey into holy lifestyle changes. God desires us to be pure inside and out.
“Modanisa” & “Sefamerve” are great modest clothing websites (& apps) to start for sanctified women.
