  • Matthew Yeakley anchors this weekly jazz performance that's held in the slightly secretive location, underground and down a dark passage in the middle of an alleyway in downtown Los Angeles (does that sound intriguing enough?). Curtis Taylor delivers his signature smooth trumpet lines, Ben Shepherd makes the bass yammer and howl (solo starts at 9:42), and Dan Schnelle drives the drums.
A wood paneled bar sets the scene on the Club's dark, carpeted interior with only a little mood lighting, so the visuals on this video are rather dark. The band plays under a row of brightly-colored, larger-than-life Andy Warhol-style portraits of Queen Elizabeth II wearing her unwavering gleam that has lasted over half a century.
In this song, saxophonist Danny Janklow who wasn't on the playbill sauntered in, jumps in and plays along in rich harmony with Curtis Taylor's trumpet. Ben Shepherd starts off this piece noodling around on the bass until the horns pick up and lift the tune off.
