Triglav and Sudaruska are the best normal damage type swords in the game. For optimal use always use SSB and at least ASI Med on it and it's a completely different experience. As for its charge attack that's where the weapon shines (mainly the stun one because freeze can be dangerous).
So, from what i'm getting out of this, your problem isn't with the BTB, but flourishes in general. The weapon's just a little too fast for you to use comfortably. Your issue with the triglav is uhh... Well, you're not someone who studied hte heavy weapons of SK either. Don't get me wrong, Triglav's pure normal damage makes it especially cumbersome, but it's charge attack is where the item truly shines, as it's PERFECT for giving you breathing room. (Although i don't suggest bringing it into a party, the knockback is horrendous if you don't know what you're doing.) although it doesn't help you purposefully went to the worst levels in the entire game to try out these weapons, besides that, it really is just a matter of adjusting to them and their patterns. for the flourishes, this is going to sound counter-intuitive, but you'll do the combo faster if you press the buttons _slower._ giving yourself hte breathing room to shield cancel is key to making it easier on yourself. As for heavy weapons (that aren't the rocket hammer) uhh... Well, spiral knights is a slow game. It feels incredibly fast, because it's a very intense game, but the overall flow of combat is very methodical. Heavy weapons capitalize on this the most. Excersize patience with a slow weapon. Positioning is absolutely critical for heavy swords too. The same way brandishes and standard 3-swing swords reward offensive, aggressive play, Heavy weapons reward defensive play. If possible, try and learn how to charge-step. It's janky at first, but it'll save your life when you figure out the pattern. This is all coming from someone who's bread and butter is the Divine Avenger. I'm a sucker for the BIG CHONKY WEAPONS in this game! Not that there's many heavy swords to begin with.
