Oh love this!!! You are so much more alive!! Happy. Love to see it! You have such a wonderful place to walk! You couldn’t keep me in the house! I am the one who had severe agoraphobia. And you can’t get over it unless you push those boundaries and allow the anxiety, to happen. Once you start allowing it to happen and you get over it, and have a victory over it, you get better. One can not get better feeding the fear. Just push the boundaries a little at a time. Go a little further away from your house and stay out longer than you are comfortable. Do that new route until it is comfortable. Until it becomes part of the safe zone. A trip to the market. A conversation with a neighbor. It is very difficult! But you can do it! It took me 5 years! And the hour long daily walk is essential. I remember when I got to the point that I went to the movies by my self! I was so proud of myself! Because the agoraphobia also extends to people. I felt safe in my house, but I only felt safe with certain people, and in the presence of those people. Always felt so vulnerable when I was alone. But I have not experienced this in 30 years. My husband’s job took us all over the world, and I had to be in social events with many strangers. I got used to it. You are all about learning new skills and you can learn this too. I wonder if your itching is more of a contact dermatitis. It may just need a topical solution. If you can get ahold of 40% zinc oxide paste, try putting that on where you itch. It’s used for diaper rash, but it’s a very effective for mini things. Most diaper rash paste come in 12% zinc oxide and that is not enough to stop painful itching in an adult. We have a brand in the states called Desitin that comes in a 40% solution. 20 to 40% is what’s needed. The chemist would know how to get that. Also, a great thing to do is to wash the area before you put on the zinc oxide with a white vinegar and water solution. I actually take a bath and put some vinegar in my bath to keep the itching away, but my itching is from, Hashimoto’s
The itching calming down is from the antihistamine taking effect. Nothing to do with salt. You need to feel that panic at least briefly when and about to improve.
Good to see lots of moving about, and I'm glad you have more variety with the fish. Especially as it is so quick and easy to prepare as well 😁 Perhaps it isn't so much the salt (Sodium Chloride) that makes you itchy but perhaps another mineral in with it. I remember you said you have some pink Himalayan, and some Redmond as well, so maybe one of those have a mineral you don't get on with? So far as I know, histamines are produced in the body when you are allergic to something. Loratadine can be good for things like insect stings I've heard. A little muscle soreness is OK but you know you've overdone it if you get DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness), which is when your muscles get sore a day or two after, and stay for for DAYS!
Wow, you're really energized today. I enjoyed the walk. We have well over a foot of snow here in NW Michigan, (and counting, along with icy roads to boot), so it's rather risky to even step a foot out of doors. I hope all your efforts pay off in the end, and they result in you living a long and healthy life. Good for you. XX
Surely your salt intake would’ve been higher prior to starting Carnivore. Traditional ‘British’ diets, particularly the less healthy, processed ones, tend to be packed with salt. I can’t imagine you’re consuming that much more now, if any.
Probably a generalisation. But, just going on what Rick portrayed his diet prior to this to be like. He mentioned McDonalds, Bakewell Tarts (granted, not that high in salt), pizzas, snacks, general high carb processed foods. Adding salt to a steak is nowhere near your daily sodium requirement. Just can’t see how he can be consuming more now.
There’s salt and there’s salt. Personally I would steer clear of iodised table salt with anti caking agents. I remember checking out the anti caking agent in the table salt I was using, it was sodium ferrocyanide! Try quality sea salt as it is not just sodium chloride, it contains many other minerals apparently and you need those electrolytes according to some.
❤ awwww thank you so much for the kind words. I'm really excited for our week of clean eating. I'm looking forward to it and seeing how it makes me feel compared to what I've been feeling up to this point. Keep up it up my friend. You're doing great. I tried Sardines. I wish I could enjoy them as much as some people do. I may revisit them soon. 😃👍❤️
Now that I think of it, you could be suffering g from what is known as keto rash. Some get ot for a while when first the body begins to change over to a fat burning machine. Some people take "go BHB Keto Salts. " not sure what others do. Might need a bit of research there
A few days ago I headed back to the Swanage video... just go back and look at the difference in your appearance. Day 65 for me. I was hungry today. Two steaks and three eggs. Hmmmm
Cheers! There are many external factors that may cause itchy back like running the heaters causing dry skin or showering with drying soap etc so please consider more than just what you've ingested through the mouth. With regards to the weight loss, remember that muscle weighs more than fat so if you're gaining muscle with those exercises you may still be losing fat and gaining muscle mass to offset which seems like you're not losing weight but in reality you're still getting much more healthy!
The post I put up hours ago has disappeared! Ah well, I will try again...here goes nothing. So glad to see that you were able to have a enjoyable walk! YIPEE! And you have a lovely neighborhood trail too! The benefits of your daily walk will be positive and long term! ....It's been -35 to -42C here where I am, so walking outdoors has been impossible. But I did manage to get out for a wee bit today after spending the past 10 days indoors! Anyway, great to see that you have been choosing sardines. They are a tasty way to jump start you metabolism and change up your diet a bit. Try to keep up your water intake, and be sure to monitor your outputs (how often and how much you are going for #1 and #2)...Sorry about being so graphic, but what you put in is just as important as what comes out! lol Have a wonderful evening and enjoy your sunshiney days!
I am very interested in your itching. I am approaching the 6 month mark and everything is better except I have some itchiness on my back. Not severe enough to make me want to stop carnivore given the other wins but it's there.
Not convinced with your salt thoughts. I cant see your salt intake being much different to when you were eating processed foods, much like sugar, processed food have high sodium content.
Hi Rick, I read on a book that the more detoxifying we do the better it is for us. May that itching be a detoxifying symptom and NOT related to anything you are currently eating but instead connected to your past eating history? I was also a carb addict and I had some skin rashes for around 11 months out of little more than a year that I have been on the carnivore diet. Thanks for the video!
I think the itching may be nothing to do with your diet, have you changed your bath soap, or washing powder. Also look at what you wear, wol or synthetics? If you did not try changing it some people get alergic after years and years use of something.
Try using beef tallow for cooking instead of butter. This will eliminate casein, the dairy protein can cause some people problems. If you never tried eliminating coffee, that might be a good experiment. I've had skin itching when overconsuming coffee.
I have anxiety and had it quite badly in the past to the point I had rashes and wheels all over me and was very itchy. The GP said I'd become allergic to my own adrenaline.... I still itch occasionally if stressed mainly on my face , and if I take an antihistamine it does carm it down
Hi Rick, sorry to hear you’re still struggling with the itching. Apologies if this has already been mentioned, but have you ruled out shingles? Hoping it eases soon.
what about clothing causing the itching, they are covered with chemicals when being shipped to prevent mould etc. perhaps switch to 100% cotton washed and double rinse before wear.
Great ro see you out and about never makes sense on paper whenits 0 degrees ,but iit always lifts the mood i prefer cycling as thy say motion and emotion are close
Hi Rick, I started my carnivore journey last week , today I learned something new .you might already know this but if not here goes First thing in the morning our cortisol levels are at typically higher in the morning so that contributes to people having higher glucose So drinking coffee first thing will raise cortisol and Along with that higher glucose a way to prevent this is to postpone the coffee and eat breakfast, some fats and protein ie bacon and eggs hope this helps 👍
Rick I think part of your issue is finding unprocessed meat. A good local butcher would have been my starting point. Supermarket meats are treated with all sorts😢
Hi Rick, So good for you to go for a walk. Watching your video, you scratch your neck a few times so have you thought it might be your washing products or showering wash?
@@rickvanman if it's some kind of toxins cleanse, i recommend taking a plastic table spoon of diatomaceous earth in a big glass of water 2-3 of hours before bed. it mops up traps toxins in the gut and takes them out. my entire family has been drinking it for years. i encourage you to try it. it's very good for health in general. it's not plant based in any way. it's dirt basically
@@rickvanman But did you start itching whilst doing the carnivore diet last year? This is what I find odd. So if not then why now? One difference is that you didnt start with the BBBE challenge the last time, which you did this time. That may have increased your salt intake & triggered a reaction that is difficult to get rid off. That's if it is salt causing the itchy rash.
Does the antihistamine tablet need more than just one tablet to take affect? Maybe a longer course is required to fully rule it out. I did comment when you started the BBBE challenge that it's alot of salt your consuming with the bacon which is considered unhealthy. So it could be eating too much salt in your diet that has triggered an allergic immune reaction, also some studies have linked it to causing an outbreak of eczema. As you keep well hydrated that should help tho. Considering this is not the first time you have eaten the carnivore diet but didn't get the itchy rash adds weight to the higher salt intake from doing the BBBE challenge being the culprit. So eliminating salt & foods like bacon is worth trying. However that will leave meat tasting quite bland which may make your diet less enjoyable long-term if it is the cause. Like i say the issue of you having an undiagnosed food allergy should not be dismissed. Where eating a restricted diet only increases the chance of eliminating foods that causes you issues which your not aware of.

It's different (+ usually different type of salt used in Carnivore) once u cut out the carbs/sugar.
traditional british diets would be what exactly

Hi Rick, the itching could be salt intake or ketosis?

So good for you to go for a walk.

Definitely not the washing powder - I use a eco, non-bio natural product that I've used for years :)
