Pitcairn would be even more enjoyable for its remoteness. Someone who tried both SM and Pico they told me that SM island is like continental Portugal. If they wanted to live in a big city, a crowded place, they could as well move to PDL, Terceira or LIS, but Pico and other less crowded islands are the true Azores.
