the real problem about Dubai is that all the blood money in the world does not buy competence. the tower has no sewage system, the city is prone to flooding if there is more than a mild breeze weather (some of the housing is already underwater before the neighborhood was finished) and all of it could have been solved with some preplanning
I should add that immigrant workers get better treatment here than in their own country, and get paid higher than what their own governments can pay them, otherwise they wouldn’t volunteer to work in UAE or any gulf countries.

Ottawa has always been fucked bc of the government House prices finally jumped in the prairies this year but they've been relatively stagnant since the early 2000s until the pandemic, and Halifax kept going down until now too

@Anel Zukic that's not why. there was a trend of bricking up fireplaces about 10-15 years ago.
@Anel Zukic they're part of the structure, plus if the property is terraced they're often shared with the property next door.

@@adilmohammed7343 in most middle east countries, the immigrant workers from Pakistan , India and Bangladesh are underpaid and cannot be promoted and over worked. Moreover, the govt and tax policy suck for them too. They are paid less because of their ethnicity not qualifications.
the real problem about Dubai is that all the blood money in the world does not buy competence. the tower has no sewage system, the city is prone to flooding if there is more than a mild breeze weather (some of the housing is already underwater before the neighborhood was finished) and all of it could have been solved with some preplanning
I should add that immigrant workers get better treatment here than in their own country, and get paid higher than what their own governments can pay them, otherwise they wouldn’t volunteer to work in UAE or any gulf countries.
