Let's everyone appreciate for a moment how Ramsey describes the notes, including the hidden notes smells. And after this, watching those dry reviews from usual suspects with free bottles is just impossibru
@@RamseytheRam thank you Ramsey. And I am writing as someone, who couple years ago found your channel and critiqued you about the way you thought about Ambergris (it was a bit ignorant), not liking the Chanel overall. Now coming here last half of year waiting for your videos more than anyone else, as your improvement in this space is unmatched. You literally becoming an oud expert with all your passion about naturals. Thank you for what you are doing, considering that for you it is a hobby, and you have actual work as most of us do. This video, technically, shows the level you are on discussing scents. You flow with it, so effortlessly bringing all the necessary details and your rich package of comparisons.
Cheers Rams , I wasn’t aware of the connection between this one and Oud Infini ,nor of its association with her dad, good stuff I like the house and also enjoy the Rose Oud genre so would most probably enjoy this one for sure ,if it comes in the calf skin box m’lord ,I’m sold lol 😂. Great review have a good one ✌️🙏👍
Oud and Rose is my favorite combination, especially the more natural the ingredients the better the combination🤌🏼 SOTD is Ombrè Nomade from Louis Vuitton, an amazing 3D designer Oud Rose and incense. Have to give credit where it’s due. Wouldn’t think that LV would make a scent like this🌹 Great video like always mate🙌🏼
Just blind purchased this fragrance last month. Glad I did as I love it. And I get the same Oud as in Oud infini or at least very similar to my nose. I do get the dried fruit accord and I love it.
Interesting review! I haven't thought of Oud Palao but good that you mentioned, need to revisit that one since it was a while! Appreciate the honesty as always. I would like to share my personal thoughts on whether Pissara is the perfumer of Dusita or not. I had a chance to meet her at her boutique. She asked me if I wanted to compose a fragrance with her from the scratch; from choosing raw materials one by one, adding the oils drop by drop, balancing them to finalising the whole composition... I think it's hard to "fake" being a perfumer when you literally have to curate how it's done (and my goal was not easy as I wanted to create a complex Amber Floral that pays homage to the traditions yet has the comtemporary heft and perfectly unisex. I did give her a hard time to achieve that haha). She might not be a master perfumer with the degree but to me she's one of the most skilled self-taught perfumers out there. Yes, I do think there might be someone in the background kinda helping her with stabilising compositions but I do believe she's the "main" nose behind the creations of Dusita.
Great take Ramsey. 🌹 Pissara seems like such a lovely person. 💛 I will say that I've seen her perfume organ multiple times so that's something to consider. I'd honestly love to see Roger's!
Unbelievable video as usual Ramsey. Yup, you do your homework. I have to say that I met Pissara in Paris in 2019 when I was invited to go to Paris (after going to Brouge Belgium). I set up an appointment with Pissara at her lovely Salon filled with people who work for her and love her. I have to say it was a wonderful visit and Pissara is not only beautiful, but very charming and seems to know what she is doing. I do think that Montri, while perhaps not being her best selling frangrances, is probably her best. I still have some Oud Infinni left in my bottle, however, even though I love Oud, I find that fragrance to be somewhat difficult to pull off, while I don’t think of Montri actually being a replacement for Oud Infini, On my skin, I find it to be more beautiful and pleasant to wear than Oud Infini . As I own both of them, I will have to compare Oud Infinity and Montri. I do think that I may prefer Montri as it is much more wearable on my skin and I do think it smells great! Your rope description is perfection.
Hi Ramsey. Great review as always. Montri is the smooth and more natural smelling of the bunch (Musiqa Oud from Nishane, Dior's Oud Ispahan or Dyptique Oud Palao) On top of that you have this Oud Infini dirtiness which makes Montri quit sexy I'd say. The drydown also has some classical french masculine perfume DNA from the 80'. For me the start and the end of the wearing experience is quite different 😉
Thanks Ram! Sounds interesting, now I’m thinking about selling my Oud Palao and buying Montri in its place as an affordable real Oud/rose. Is this more natural smelling?
Ramsey I'm torn, I found an incredible offer for Rose de Taif Extrait from Perris, I would never afford it otherwise, between RdT and montri which one has the best rose note? Please help
@@RamseytheRam from your review it's seems like rose is more of a secondary note after oud and iris. Would you say that Montri is more powdery and sweet compared to oud palao?
every time ppl see the notes list, they assume the full interpretation of the notes written. Most time you will get a slight fraction of a note listed.
I get what you're saying about frags showing up on discounters cheapening them, I also don't have the kind of "F U" money to buy them all at full freight, so... You know, shut up 😂
Ohhh I am not saying to not buy them at discounters? Even if you have the money why pay 200 when you can get the exact same fragrance for 100? You would be a fool to pay full price for something you can get it for half price ... i support buying bottles as cheap as you can... its the best way to build a collection

Honestly it's been so long I don't remember...maybe by a hair but there is nothing wrong with oud palao 🌹
full bottle for 65 bucks no regrets , even though it is a little redundant in my collection.
At that price you can't go wrong 💪🐏

Best rose note on its own? Rose de Taif Extrait
@@RamseytheRam from your review it's seems like rose is more of a secondary note after oud and iris.

Smelled it in the store, it's pleasant.
Yes not bad for a modern rose / oud 😍
Great review. Another rose oud that doesn’t stand out ?
Basically lol
Better than some but not worthy of a bottle IMHO
@@RamseytheRam wonderful review though. Thanks.

As for quality, is Dusita the same as the old Amouage? As for quality, is Dusita the same as the old Amouage?
No
I don't think that Montri is about oud. In my view is about elegance and sophistication
Thanks for sharing your thoughts
The best of the genre for the money I'm prepared to spend
