William Mark Wainwright or William Orbit aka Billy 'O' to us is a goddam musical wizard that creates ambient vibes that reach into one's subconcious mind, this track like the album it came from ' Hello Waveforms' is quite sublime. I am in awe of this man.
This is a little weird, but a recent Slate article (google ASMR) made me dig through my favorite videos and revisit ... I think Orbit is tapping into that buzzy, trance feeling... for me, the people walking backward in their brown 70s suits in the first minute, the DOS prompt about leaving a note in your locker, and the kids swaying - something deeply nostalgic in those images, and excellent timing with the music. Thanks for enhancing the Orbit experience.
William Orbit produced Madonna's album Ray of Light, and these sounds are ALL OVER THE ALBUM, if you listen it close!!! it is just magnificent!! MAGNIFICENT!
Please listen to "Spirit" by Caroline Lavelle (specially the track named "Turning Ground"), an album produced by William Orbit 3 years before "Ray of light", I think it was a rehearsal for Madonna's "Ray of light".
I don't know how, but of all the songs I have to relax to, this is one of the only ones that really calms my mind. William Orbit is incredible. What's odd is that I can't quite describe why.
Ich liebe es. Es bringt mich runter und ich kann abschalten. Das Video regt zum träumen und nachdenken an. 2010 entdeckt und bis heute ein Teil fest in meiner Playlist
I read the entire book “Anthem” so many years ago while listening to this song. I’m so glad the very same video is still here and I can listen to it whenever. ❤
I learned about William Orbit from his work on Madonna's "Ray of Light" album, and since then I've been a fan. I love his productions, they're transcedentally sleek!
I Luv this chune, it just has a Reel relaxed Kewlness to it!! You feel as if you're in a Metropolis on a different planet of sorts. It has a magical feel to it and the camaraderie at 5:21 looks so 70's happy. You rock Orbit!!!
havn't visited this video for a while! forgot how amazing it is, this song is actually ridiculously calming....can't stop thinking about stuff and contemplating life right now
Took me a while to find this video again! I couldn't remember the name at all, only the video itself. Finally!!! such a nice piece of music to listen to, so calming.
I have never heard this until you posted it, so I play it from time to time here. Last week, I was humming this song while I was finishing my jog down hill. The sun was setting behind the skyscrapers of Los Angeles; very peaceful.
I'm sitting watching this in the Wisdom Cafe in tiny Nevada City, California, on headphones, and got a big laugh from that little slice of chair boogieing near the end. Nice work, overall!
The footage was released online and made available by Sony Pictures and Sony Television many, many years ago. I pulled it all down and stored in on my hard drive, then the service -- called Screenblast -- went bust. Made the video shortly thereafter!
well done! its nice to see someone with a creative mind due a song justice as oppossed to throwing up annoying pics of keyboards or what have you. a truly surreal and rad piece of video magic thanks man!
i know ive already commented but i think this vid is awesome and this music is awesome!! the music works so well with the vid, im addicted and im in a state of trance!! love it.
DustMight, this really should be the actual music video for this song... I recently started making a music video that I posted and some other little documentaries put to music, but this has such a feeling with this video put to this music... inspiring... now I gotta watch all of your videos. Kudos.
This is a great vid!! excellent transitions, the tone fits the movement. I have never attempted to make a vid, but, this an entry of using everyday elements to translate what the music is expressing. my very best to you...
I bought the last copy of "Hello, Waveforms" available in stores in my city. Orbit is an excellent DJ, but when he's not producing remixes of 'Ray of Light' or Cher's 'Believe,' his electro-classical compositions defy description. This is an amazing vid (did this yourself?! Wow.) to a truly inspiring composer. The song "You Know Too Much About Flying Saucers" is my favorite track. Bravo for posting this.

Nice! He actually replied to the vide via Twitter and said he enjoyed it. Definitely a musical hero of mine. A sublime tune.

This should seriously be considered an official william orbit music video!

It reminds me the summer night when I was 7 years old, clearly very clearly.

Another beautiful track by William Orbit. Listening to this is like drinking melted chocolate.
this piece, and it totally is a piece, is a discussion between eternal mystery and the human pursuit of understanding it. prove me wrong.

It's old b-roll/stock footage from a movie studio that shall remain nameless. ;) It was all digitized from betacam SP tape.
