  • Rich Karlgaard, author of Late Bloomers: The Power of Patience in a World Obsessed with Early Achievement, is the publisher of Forbes magazine and is based in Silicon Valley. He is a lecturer, pilot, and the author of four acclaimed previous books. A self-proclaimed late bloomer, he had a mediocre academic career at Stanford (which he got into by a fluke), and after graduating, until age 26, worked as a dishwasher, night watchman, and typing temp before finally finding the intersection of his talents and drive that ultimately led him to his current career trajectory.
    DESCRIPTION
"Rich Karlgaard explains while some students respond to being pushed to achieve, others will rebel against this type of teaching. He talks about how parents can assist their children who may be late bloomers to achieve their goals. According to Karlgaard, being able to take the time to find one’s passion and talent can have many benefits including feeling pulled toward one’s destiny instead of being pushed."
