Reducing Radio Frequency Interferenc (RFI) on Icom IC-7610 | Using Noise Blanker and Noise Reduction

- I remote HF to my Icom IC7610 and I experienced a very strong and harsh RFI coming from somewhere near my QTH. I use the Noise Blanker and Noise Reduction to eliminate the majority of the noise and can still make QSO on HF. This interference has also affected all of my HF bands.

There's my lil buddy!!
I would start with a common mode choke at your radio then one at your antenna. Why, a short explanation, the one on the radio stops common mode noise at your radio the one at the antenna to keep the RF in the antenna. This all helps to lower your noise floor. This with other activities will help. Noise removed outside the radio is more dynamic range in your radio. Note you need them to have 30db reduction for best results.
sounds like electric spark, now comes the part where you deal with the power company.
first clueless cust service, then tier one guy with handheld am receiver they send out and finally after lots of pains someone qualified
Yep, sounds like what I'm experiencing.
I had very similar experience 20 Db all over the bands I was so powerless I had had to make RF loop sniffer antenna on my handheld HF receiver it was a house up the road it was kitchen LED and solved the issue I had to pay them to get genuine LED. it would be good idea if you send this video link to
electric company if it needs to. Hope it gets sorted very soon good luck.
Thanks! That's cool that you bought better LED for your neighbor.
Have you found the source of the RFI ?
Yeah. The utility said in 2 places. They had to replace 1 equipment. I dont know if they already replaced it. I will have to follow up when I get a chance.
