It's at night when they come
When I'm alone
And not with anyone
Through the shouts and music
Of the crowd down the road boozin
Near the free car park, the bins
And the alley way of the Chinese restaurant
No 3 for 2
And No 4 for 1
We're going down like BHS while the able bodied vultures monitor and pick at us
We're going down and it's no stress i lay in hope for the knuckle draggin exodus
We're goin down like BHS while the able bodied vultures monitor and pick at us
We're going down and it's no stress
We're going down like BHS
I think about the heat as it lowers itself on me
past the closing hour when the light in my Phone starts to lose power
Through the karaoke it screams it's name you can't blame the betrayed, in the snakes and ladders, we are the baldrick’s son, and black adders
But oh oh oh oh oh
laying on a boat well what do you do
But oh oh oh oh oh
Laying on a boat mate look at you
Look at you
We're going down like BHS while the able bodied vultures monitor and pick at us
We're going down and it's no stress i lay in hope for the knuckle draggin exodus
We're goin down like BHS while the able bodied vultures monitor and pick at us
We're going down and it's no stress
We're going down like BHS

This is the most British thing I've heard in years. I love it.
How so?
These guys are my favourite Jam right now! All us boys over here in Australia spend our nights getting pissed and listening to the 'Sleaford Mods'!
No bling, dollars, or pimps.
This is hip hop for the twitchy bloke in the chemist.
And it is fucking glorious.
You described me. I'm mouthy aw though liked yer man.
Ab-so-lute-ly-fuck-ing-spot-on
Hip hop? Maybe punk hip hop? Whatever hole you shove it into I like it.
id say more like post punk. but thats me
'...twitchy bloke in the chemists...' LMFAO!
Sleaford Mods!! Post Punk legends! Keep telling it how it is lads. Fucking love you guys
Sleaford Mods have rejuvenated my thoughts on modern music, simply put they are punks for the modern era, the every-person representative, rough round the edges but human and always going down swinging.
I hope the continue to make music for us, the UK really needs a kick up the arse with regards to its music output at the moment and very rarely do we see artists with such conviction that speak these modern day truths to all people from all corners of society...
Fuckin absolute banger this one lads!
Do You rate Idles,Jack Freeb ?
Loved Warsaw, love the Sleafords. Punk attitude plus creativity is still too unexplored.
@@drychaf Let`s hope that we have Artists brave enough to explore the hitherto ,unexplored. The market is drenched in mediocrity. I believe we will have to belong to the underground to hear the music that makes us feel alive
Hiya mate you have you touched a woman
Check out random hand if you don't know them, might up your alley
Sleaford Mods found it out. Have their formula, yet keep it fucking fresh as the first. Mint
The first Sleaford Mods song I ever heard. Instantly loved it, these guys are genius.💝
Same here!☝️😃
Best lyricist of this generation and the beats are excellent. Big up the mods.
Padraic o'donoghue I think you mean Alex Turner, right?
best lyric in a moneys song is I wanna be yours and that was written by john cooper clarke.
Padraic o'donoghue Obviously haven't listened to Arctic Monkeys a lot then. Despair in the departure Lounge, no buses, secret door, crying lightning, suck it and see, only Ines who know, red light indicate doors are secure are all better than I wanna be yours and the list can go on easily
Yes mate he is class no doubting that.
ImSoIndieAndVague 1869 I don't think they do
How could someone listen to these dudes and not get hooked immediately.
The amount of people in the same boat as me that instantly thought Hans & Jez would love these lads is real.
Who the hell thumbs-down these guys??? Tight beats and lyrics that are unfiltered and hit to the quick!
pearls before swine
such a fresh sound, absolutely love it. can't wait to see you guys at boomtown! ♡

Dude ! this Band Rocks...I'm hearing them for the first time and I love it. Greetings from Tucson Arizona(USA)
Cool, check out the rest of their stuff. Big up the Mods and big up you for finding em 👍
Wait another tucsonan who’s into them?!
Check out the band “art brut” if you’re into the UK punk vibes!
Was introduced to these guys last week and I must say ,what a breath of fresh air. My new band of 2019 . 👏👏👏
Great Tune, great music I feel this so natural and honest. Keep it up!
I drove to Mancs Academy to see em...said onstage by 9.30, got there late 9.45, though had been on since 9. Couldn’t get past the throng of already ensconced crowd reluctant to let anyone pass as if their entire life depended...heard 5 songs from the back of someone’s head. Drove home, part of motorway closed, 2+ hours home and only live 30 miles away. Sweet
4 years old, still relevant, not dated. Classic
Best tune & words I've heard in years👏👏👏👏
Pure Class the Sleaford Mods, quality tunes!
They're like the anti-Pet Shop Boys.
The Welfare Boys
Desirable Jodie underrated comment.
You nailed it!!!-)))
Hahah! Niceone!
The Pet Shop Boys for Men
Saw 'em play at New Slang, Kingston Upon Thames earlier this year. The energy of them live is incredible.
I love these guys. They are the best at what they do.
How good is this song... Brilliant.

This is a nice bit of work, awesome video , awesome subject, whoever filmed it needs a thumbs up as well. Mr Green part well played. Nice clear picture quality as well. I like to look at this piece as an entire experience and Sleaford Mods smashed it with this one. Great bit of work. Keep it up boys.....
Mr Green means rich man?

@@LaimaThedog-cu8lq Thks, i'm so proud of the mods, I like so much such comments!
@@yodavai it is just awesome to get a text for an awesome song, so i can quickly learn the lyrics and sing it loud and Hard while i travel so other People also can get the pleasure of the lyrics hehe.
One LoVe
There is no lyricist currently writing songs that are as intelligent or thought-provoking as Sleaford Mods. Perfectly sum up British society.
Can someone explain then ? I m french ans loves this song but dont quite understand it ..
love this song can't stop playing it
one of the great bands going these days.....what blows my mind is they were asked about The Fall, and Jason was like he 'barely knew them' and definitely hadn't listened to them much.....Sleaford Mods come closer to capturing what Mark E Smith did than most anyone (although still a long ways away artistically).....Working Men's Club are the only others that aren't blatantly 'trying'
That is surprising - first thing I thought when I heard these guys was Mark E Smith.
I'm seeing these guys live tomorrow!
Just great. Love them and their attitude. #Onpoint
Saw them in Birmingham last Saturday absolutely mental performance. Brilliance personified
Not only are the beats excellent the lyrics and delivery are too and they are really funny. Proper Band.
"In the snakes and ladders,
We are the Baldricks, son
and Blackadders"
The sickest most devastating lyric I've heard in a long time. Tight !!!!
Can you explain a little what you think it means please
@@SunnyvaleTrailerParkSupervisor It's referring to the TV show Blackadder. Baldrick/Blackadder tended to be subordinates to incompetent people in higher classes/positions. The owner of BHS lived a famously extravagant/expensive lifestyle whilst robbing from the company's pension funds. I think it's basically about the people in power not giving a shit about those lower than them.
Blackadder's sidekick.
@@c.s.4428 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blackadder
@@SunnyvaleTrailerParkSupervisor In the Britsish tv show, "Blackadder' - Baldrick is the common servant (in other words, most of us are descendants of Baldrick) and the Blackadder character is a moron but he's part of the aristocracy/ ruling class. In other words, society is run by morons and we all stay of low class/subservience.
Im a 35 year old English geezer and found the mods through jobseeker AND NOW THERE IS NO GOING BACK 🍻
lovin this...raw, unpretentious...wicked RYU sampleloop...neopunk
2'53'' : That Peter's laugh makes it ten times better !

When yer dad & his never married weird friend decide to start a band in their late 40's you get Sleaford Mods !
Just like we do
They've got something to tell. Possibly more than all kids together nowadays
Top notch. Thank you.
Cools bass sounds and great tune, lads.
Up the Mods.
Not sure how effective such anthems against corruption can be but IT IS NEEDED.
Best act around..... Nottingham 3rd Nov was tops... This track flows so nicely... Well done fellas... When is the next UK date????????????? Need another fix :)
Fantastic. Just entirely fantastic.
This reminds me of PNE's Fulham day out.. what a lovely day out..Over Land And Sea..peace and love
Read about you in a Swedish newspaper. Love your lyrics. "No 3 for 2 and No 4 for 1". Nice little niche you found. I hope things goes well.
Du de Normaundie Haj på daj
I want the other bloke's job
Stand, nod, and press a button every three minutes! \m/
Good to see Silent Bob got another gig.
I refer you to the comment of @
itookallthenames to ua-cam.com/video/dEYYI1ii0AU/v-deo.html and I quote "i love how the bloke doesn't bullshit us by pretending to "DJ", I made the music mate, all I needs to do is press play!" @
itookallthenames likes it and so do I.
Brilliant comment 😂🤣
The blushing bride, she looks divine, the bridegroom he is doing fine, I'd rather have his job than mine, when I'm cleanin' winders.
Brilliant, as usual.

As a ex employee of BHS I feel this hard! 😂
Je trouve cette musique particulièrement entrainante et dynamique, vraiment cela est un vrai bain de jouvence.
new shitt waaauuuu. loved you at flow. my fav gig there
bloody gem mate !
A cross between The Streets, John Cooper-Clarke and Idles.
Don't mention them in the same sentence as IDLES. They're not keen. And it should be pointed out that they were active as a band before the Bristol five piece.
If Johnny Rotten had had a drum machine...
underrated comment
Glad this reminds someone else of PiL.
Totally
DISCOGOTHTHEJAZZFAN Except Johnny is from London and these guys are from Nottingham.
Obvious Bicycle Grantham*
The best best best stuff I've seen in 30 years
love that beat!
Супер! Ребята молодцы!!! отличный ритм и текст
Just bought the CD!
Just bought the minidisk
lay and hope for the knuckle dragging exodus!! Awesome
Great, a real pleasure to hear good stuf !
SM58, no reverb. Keeping it dry in 2017.
reverb is for pussies
its tight like those 'hipster' pants they sold, fucking shite
next comment try talking less shit
Ben Coleman Sounds I think it's perfect this way as it fits the mood of the song really well.
The lack of effects on the vocals gives a very raw feel to the song.

Fit for work
A brown envelope comes through the door
It’s painfully picked up off the floor
By a sad old man more dead than alive
Fit for work at sixty five
The cancer treatment was a success
He’s had two weeks to convalesce
Now sickness pay will no longer arrive
Fit for work at sixty five
A morning appointment next Monday
In a Job centre plus ten miles away
He’ll have to get a taxi: he can’t drive
Fit for work at sixty five
They found him a job TWENTY miles away!
Packing stuff in boxes for minimum pay
Barely enough for a mouse to survive
Fit for work at sixty five
One year later, he’s still there
Like an worn out motor in need of repair
But nothing that a hard days graft can’t fix
Fit for work at sixty six
He’s working treble shifts, week in week out
His sleep pattern’s truly up the spout
Aching joints thrown into the mix
Fit for work at sixty six
This wasn’t the life that he desired
And many of his friends are long retired
He’s an old dog tired of being taught new tricks
Fit for work at sixty six
He stayed with a company for fifty years
But his pension plans ended up in tears
When the boss sold up and bought a yacht for kicks
Fit for work at sixty six
Ten years later he’s past spent
But the government pension doesn’t cover the rent
Or a diet of Pot Noodles and Weetabix
Still at work at seventy six
The prostate cancer didn’t come back
But he suffered a massive heart attack
And the paramedics couldn’t resuscitate
Died at work, aged seventy eight
And so ends this tale of misery
This working man’s obituary
From the day he was born till his final breath
The sum of his life?
Birth, school, work, death
brilliant. who wrote this?
Exceptional, info please?
Great stuff, mate.
Subbed
That's why you save up your earnings or learn something creative, if you don't have money at the end doesn't expect the life of luxury. Could have been a rockstar had he actually went for those guitar lessons when he was a kid.
