I’m headed up next July. When I did Mt Washington I used the same rule you use driving a semi if you use 2 nd gear to climb it use 2nd to descend it great video man
Has to be one of the top videos of the trip. I love that area and the drop offs are no joke! Super sketchy! I was up to Red Rocks in a car and didn’t make it to Pikes Peak. Definitely bucket list item. Your videos are making me plan a coast trip from Alabama. The video where you guys talk about your ages and just do it before you’re too old and can’t is true. I dropped a bug in my bosses ear about riding that far and he had a funny look on his face. “ that would be at least two weeks” he said. Yep 😊
amazing John. you are such a good guy. you are always so positive, I wish I could learn this also. please, if you go on roads where little stones could come up from the street...wear at least some sun glasses. otherwise, if stone comes to your eye, you will lose youre eyelight. all the best to you all.
Back in the 90’s when I got to Colorado Springs I took my sportster to the top of the peak. After you left the break check point, it was all dirt road to the top. There has been several cars over the years that went over the side because they lost their breaks. Glad you enjoyed the ride.
Awesome Awesome Awesome just to see for miles up and down is crazy I'm just speechless for words. Ooooo man to see the rain that high up coming from the clouds over those mountains it look like a water fall
I could not agree more. I rode it last October it’s a very technical ride a lot of lower speed switchbacks and a sheer drop. Makes your butt pucker up a bit. But well worth it.
Beautiful absolutely beautiful!! They have taces to the top ,both cars and motorcycles. One of my favorite riders ,Carlin Dunne #5 Multiple champ and record breaker lost his life on that peak during a race he was winning. Ducati Multistrada. God Bless great video.
EPIC VIDEO!!! You got down at the right time. So glad you guys enjoyed Pikes Peak. I guess the next day you did the turn and burn towards home. What a trip! Congrats brother. I see ya soon. I'm rootin fer ya!
We've been biking around Iowa this weekend and stopped at a bar in some very small town because there were a few Harleys out front. We met some folks from St Paul Minnesota and struck up a conversation and I asked if they ever watched 2 Lane Life on UA-cam and they said oh yeah, along with Cycle Fanatix and several others. I love how you guys have given all us motorcycle nuts a new way to connect. Great video Brother and keep up the great work!
Pikes Peak is a great and challenging ride however the ride up Mt. Blue Ski (Mt. Evans) also in CO, is even more challenging. Tighter hairpins and the road is in far worse shape. On top of that you have to dodge mountain goats and big horn sheep. Thanks for sharing your ride.
The worst part of this video is that I am now all caught up. You said in an earlier video that this could be 25 videos, I sure hope you are right!! Those views from the Peak 🙌
Drink a lot of water & that will help with the altitude sickness. We can see the Welcoming Center from our porch. We just moved up here, Colorado Springs from TX last month. We haven't been up there yet but soon. Cripple Creek is a great ride also. 💯
Two years ago I rode my 2021 Harley Pan America up Pikes Peak. When coming down I realized I had left the bike in sport mode. Not smart on my part but what a great riding experience.
Awesome video John!! The views of the mountain range are ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!! Absolutely breathtaking!! This journey footage has been more than epic!! Incredible job you did!! I made a little video yesterday morning on my channel and gave you a big shout out, along with Cams channel and Sandy's over at Holy Shift . Keep up the great work brother and always ride safe 🇺🇸🤘🏻💯!!
@@CYCLEFANATIX , no , thank you brother 🤘🏻💯!! I love to ride, hands down! Love taking road trips with a great bunch of people who love to ride. Your journey/road trip has given me so much inspiration to get on my bike and travel more. Getting together with my buddy from high school soon to plan a trip. Going to cover Central/Western Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. Then make our way back home to Mass. It is you who deserves the thanks brother 🇺🇸💯🤘🏻!! Keep up the great work and always ride safe 🤘🏻💯!!
Wife and I Road to the top of Pikes Peak 4 years ago in August on our CVO Road Glide Ultra Limited. Had to wait for them to clear the snow off the road before they'd let us go up. The next day, road to the top of Mount Evans (10 feet higher). Absolutely beautiful views!! If your going to do it on a bike, be sure you have octane booster in your gas, or you'll be pinging!! 😂😂😂
When I went up on a triglide years ago had cars in front of me stopping in the hair pins close to summit. I thought to myself if I was on two wheels with cars stopping in the corners oh crap!! Going down was a hoot. 1 st gear engine braking.
Did RickRak beef up the metal frame yet? I hit a bump last year riding RT66 and the frame flexed and the front hooks popped off the luggage rack. The bag rolled back and was only held on by the clamps to the rear portion of the luggage rack. I now put rok straps around the bag. Also you need extra straps to hold the rain cover on, but it looks like RickRak added straps to the rain cover.
Absolutely zero issues with my bag and I have probably 15,000 miles on that bag already, I also put a lock on it after I clamp it down just in case and yes, the rain cover comes with straps now that will also secure the bag onto the cargo rack
Nice Video. When you’re talking you should have the camera face out so we can see more views instead . Most of the video we are looking at you talking and missed out on a lot of views. Glad you made it down safely. Looks like a blast and it is now on my bucket list.
I am a new rider and live near here. I hope to make a similar ride this year when I have the skill. My friend and I took the COG train up last year. We are both from NY, although I moved to CO almost 3 years ago. When we got to the top, she nearly fainted from the altitude because she wasn't used to it. It's no joke.
@@CYCLEFANATIX I live here and am used to the air. It was my friend that almost passed out. I am a novice on my first bike, and haven't one for that reason. I will as soon as I am ready.
All that rain do you run a rain sock on the new wedge air cleaner? I hate getting caught in the rain but i use to run mine just during the buggy longer trips.
When did they build all that platform and the fancy elevation marker!? last time i was up there, it was basically an empty parking lot with the restaurant, and a well worn wooden (i think?) sign that had the elevation...i guess that means ive gotta cruise back up there! congrats on engine braking and your low brake temp! that road is no joke!
How are your tires holding up? How many miles per tire? I have a '24 Street Glide with just over 4K miles, and the tires are looking pretty so far. Thanks!
John , I don’t know what the deal is . I left a comment it seemed to post . I read some of the other comments went back and my comment was gone. Has anyone else mentioned that this has happened to them?
I know it’s very strange and frustrating. I have also noticed that people have been subscribed to me for several years. Have somehow been de-subscribed by UA-cam
Those views were AMAZING!!✌🏿✌🏿
I’m headed up next July. When I did Mt Washington I used the same rule you use driving a semi if you use 2 nd gear to climb it use 2nd to descend it great video man
Incredible! COOL! Be Safe! Thank you sir!
Yup after a bunch of days on the bike doing 2 / 300 mile + days the body gets tired need to rest for a day my friend!! Great content!!
Thanks Eric
I can see you guys had a good and tiring trip to Pikes Peak. It was into look at the video. Enjoyed the views. Be safe guys
That’s my backyard brotha! 🤙 glad you got to experience some of the BEST riding in the country!
No doubt!
Man, what a beautiful view I’ve got to get out there and ride up to the top of this mountain.👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
3 Storm Runners.
Awesome Vlog John.
Loved Pikes Peak and I had only been riding for about 2 years! It was epic!
It really is!

I have been to the top twice. Once in a car and once on a bike. The top one third was still gravel. This was in the mid 70’s
Sandy is lucky to have you! you can see your experience is helping the other guys get through this ride!
amazing John. you are such a good guy. you are always so positive, I wish I could learn this also. please, if you go on roads where little stones could come up from the street...wear at least some sun glasses. otherwise, if stone comes to your eye, you will lose youre eyelight. all the best to you all.

Your right it’s spectacular not to be missed. Great job guys. The rain in Colorado comes in every afternoon .
Nice views, thanks for sharing
That view around the 8min mark i can only image
Hey my friend hope all is well. Yeah, it was definitely crazy.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ awesome video ride safe and enjoy

🔥 hopefully doing that ride next week, depending on whether
I like that you admit when the hail and rain comes it sucks! It’s all part of the trips but sometimes….it sucks!
It's a great ride and you are correct cameras do it no justice
Great video sir.
I could not agree more. I rode it last October it’s a very technical ride a lot of lower speed switchbacks and a sheer drop. Makes your butt pucker up a bit. But well worth it.
🤣🤣yes
Great effort by you and the crew. Sketchy indeed but worth it. 🤘
Beautiful video, my friend.
I wanna write with you guys too !
Very nice 👍.

Rode it early 2000 two up with wife . Only paved 1/2 way up at that time Great ride
Wow, that must have been exciting

Another epic adventure, great inspiration to start making plans to just get out there, love how you guys play it smart and keep it safe✌️
Thanks so much!
Beautiful John.... Thanks for sharing... Jesus Christ of Nazareth Bless you all..
Got to be fun!
What a fantastic ride! Keep it up bro.
What a day fellas 🙌🏼

Amazing ! Nice, IPAs afterwards ??
Great video 👍🇺🇸😊
Thanks 👍
Great vid John...
I did Pikes Peak in 2017 and the day I did there was a 13 yr kid who rode the whole way up on his unicycle! 😎

Its too bad you didn't stop at Royale Gorge, looks like you were right there by it. But im sure time just ran out. Love your videos!!
Thank you
Great segment…pikes peak is definitely a must although with some breathing issues I have may be a bit difficult at that altitude
Yeah it’s definitely hard to breathe up there

Thanks for the tip
I was concerned about you all getting altitude sickness since Sandy got real sick in India. Glad you did fine brother.
Yeah, Jim
It’s definitely hard to breathe at the altitude and for some people they can definitely get severe altitude sickness
Do you have the Elevation on your GPS? My 2019 RGU has it on the Boom Maps. Great video. 👍
I don’t believe so
I am a new rider and live near here. I hope to make a similar ride this year when I have the skill. My friend and I took the COG train up last year. Yes, if you are a beginner, I would not recommend and also if you have any problems with breathing, I would also say don’t go up
@@CYCLEFANATIX I live here and am used to the air. It was my friend that almost passed out. I am a novice on my first bike, and haven't one for that reason. I will as soon as I am ready.
Dope brotha😎
All that rain do you run a rain sock on the new wedge air cleaner? I hate getting caught in the rain but i use to run mine just during the buggy longer trips.
I didn’t this time, but I had it in my saddlebags. If I knew we were going to be riding several hours and pouring rain I would definitely have it on.
Haha yep 👍
The new visitor center is only a few years old. All new building and platforms.
How are your tires holding up? How many miles per tire? I have a '24 Street Glide with just over 4K miles, and the tires are looking pretty so far.
Thanks!
I currently have over 10,000 miles on them and they still look like they have another 5000 miles left
Do you use the hood on the rain gear under your helmet? Or how do you keep the rain from getting in by your neck?
Unless you’re stopped for long period of time as long as you’re riding rain, don’t travel down your back
Aw John, smooth seas never makes a skilled sailor!😂 Ride that mountain like brokeback, son!!! Hahaha
🤣🤣
@@CYCLEFANATIX but man was that some views! I rode beartooth sev years ago, was pikes peak better?
Can't believe you were in my backyard😂 Altitude is killer huh?
Haha ohh yeah
How much did it cost to get in? And r there any discounts?
I think the gentleman mentioned that in the video
I did Pikes peak before it was paved on a Honda Valkyrie with six carbs screaming for air🤨
Best cut of meat there is…. RIBEYE!!!! Change my mind…
What no heated gear?
No
I'm be there probably 5 time I getting to the top 2
You never did say which was the hardest to ride Pikes Peak or Mount Washington?
Pikes Peak definitely
Great views John but your audio sucks, to much wind noise, Sandy has the right idea with his recordings
I’ll buy the bag from RickRak if they ever get them in stock.
Yes, it’s a hot seller, but they will be restocking shortly
That’s the only problem with GoPros, they just don’t show what it really looks like
Once you got to the top you should of said " I'm cycle fanatic, I'm from Jersey baby and your not!!" 😂😂
🤣🤣
been riding for years ..don't know if I could do this ride..that no guardrail gives me the creeps!!!!
Haha yeah it’s sketchy as hell
John , I don’t know what the deal is . I left a comment it seemed to post . I read some of the other comments went back and my comment was gone.
Has anyone else mentioned that this has happened to them?
I know it’s very strange and frustrating. I have also noticed that people have been subscribed to me for several years. Have somehow been de-subscribed by UA-cam
Did you eat a donut at the top?
Haha we wanted to, but we were rushing to beat the rain
I really like your videos, but man the new helmet has to go looks like something a super hero would wear sorry keep the videos coming (Bill)
Come on Bill I’m the new Iron Man 💪🤣🤣
My ears popped on your way up
Haha 🤣
