he hit that "BAYBAYYYYYY" so perfectly and off the cuff. legend.
legit felt like someone played a sample
Still got it ain't he
Bruh! Mid conversation! Crazy!
It wasn’t perfect but it was good
Bro can just sing…he hit that note and it sounded exactly like he was in a studio recording
He's just causally hitting the song perfectly?
Well, he is the one who wrote it and sang it. 🤷🏼♀️
@@raencloud435 well yeah but many singers suck at singing perfectly on command
@@koyakream
We the fans have demanded that he sing it at every concert since 1995...he can literally do it in his sleep..nothing beats that kind of practice.
I was like OMG!
Yeah, he comes from a time where every performance in the studio was not pitch corrected, so he probably had to actually work on his craft.
He made a classic song. He should be proud.
He is, he just trying to tell us how talented he is, naturally 😊
@@LisaEmBee215good lord lady take your happy pills and get lost
@@LisaEmBee215 What?
❤❤❤❤
exactly
Seal, respectfully, the fact that you blending two differing genres so well not only shows that it does work, but also shows you're a fucking legend in making it work.
Also goes to show how music is very versatile. I mean if it wasn't, DJs would be out of the job.
R and b but what’s the other?
@@3rdjrhMedieval English folk in a waltz as he put it.
More than three genres
It's more like five
It doesn't. If it did, this song would be nothing special but it is because it's unusual. This is a very unique hit that doesn't work. This is an anomaly. Let's not act like it isn't
@@anonymousperson3023 If it's a hit, then it works.
I'M STILL IN LOVE WITH THIS SONG
Me too
Always. BAY BAYYYYYY❤❤
Me too, loved it for almost thirty years.
I still tear up hearing it! His singing voice is so beautiful ❤️
I've loved this song since my teenage years
That's fine, man.
Batman Forever really shouldn't have worked, either.
But it did. Can't say the same for "Batman and Robin" (1997).
Lol good point what the hell did this song had to do with Batman 😅 either way the song to me was beautiful because of his voice and the clarinet
@@Bnic9155 It was the third or fourth song on the soundtrack to "Batman Forever" (1995).
😂😂😂😂
Talking about Blissful ignorance... @@Bnic9155
For me the reason why it was successful is because it felt like a story. The beginning is like 'once upon a time' ie the set up, then the rockish part feels like a strong emotion, his heart has been changed and he's screaming it out to the world. The last part he mentioned feels like triumph, "I've been kissed by a rose on the gray!" Repeating it over and over. It's a really beautiful song compensation. He's not giving himself enough credit!
Wow! Couldn’t have phrased that better ☝🏽
It's successful because of the sound, not the lyrics. Nobody understands the lyrics. It's the sound that carries it
Great comment! Totally agree!
He's giving himself a ton of credit. Where is the perception he's not taking credit coming from? Because he's accurately analyzing the fact that it shouldn't have worked on paper? It did work, and it was beautiful. He knows that, we all know that. His point is that it was arguably the greatest song ever made, and he's an amazing musician for it, due to the fact that he produced it without even following the established "rules".
Ya'll saying "oh come on Seal, take more credit, you should be proud of yourself" are *totally* missing his point.
to me, it's about how darkness can be be changed by light, and how in the darkest of times, light can prevail upon the darkness.
When I was little, I was obsessed with Batman Forever. My sister had the soundtrack on cassette. I would ask her to play "The Batman Song" and she had to rewind that cassette over and over. Kiss From a Rose brings me back to my childhood whenever I hear it, and it's my all-time favorite song because of it.
I call it a blissful Masterpiece..
It's just a Great Magical song that arouses our imagination.
For sure!
You know you have God given talent when "what shouldn't work" becomes an instant classic ❤.
It wasn’t instant. It entered the charts at 60, dropped to 78 and disappeared. The producer of Batman forever used it as soundtrack and then it became a sensation
@@josephantwi8891 songs usually get more popular when they're advertised in a movie 🎥🍿
If you’re good enough, you CAN make it work, even if it "shouldn’t." That's the grand part about being a true artist. He not only made it work.... he made it beautiful!
It's definitely a top 100 most beautiful songs ever.
Yes!
I feel like the opposite. The most successful songs tend to have classical elements or be mixed genre. Look at Queen, Linkin Park or some Nelly songs. Or just rock ballads in general. We can't get enough of them. They are happy surprises that expand our mind.
Come on Seal you are a unique artist. We are still appreciating the lyrics and like you said it's globally out of the box. That's what the industry does. No better than a rose growing from the concrete. Surprise you've been here before🌍❤
That wasn't at all what he was saying.......
It's just entertainment💎
@@roseneal2392are you talking to Seal or Franky?
To be honest the artist, Seal has always been successful in his deliverance of entertainment🏆
He has amazing vocals! He hit that note perfectly. Legend
This song embodied what Batman was about, it reminds me of what would have been played if Batman found love one day. It honored Batman Forever beautifully. Especially with Kilmer and Kidman in that film. It synced perfectly imo.
I saw this live years ago and I can assure you that the power and beauty of this song comes from his presence onstage. He is stunning
Anen!
Correction: Amen !!!
Gorgeous song , sung perfectly by Seal it’s fluid and stunning in so many parts , gorgeous song whatever the break down of the chords , it works and not just for the movie , it’s perfection in expressing love.
Good music isn't about knowing , it's about feeling. The mind gets in the way a lot of times
"In order to move others, I must be moved"
Niccolo Paganini.
This is an example of someone with a god given talent that doesn’t realise how good they truly are, he could probably come back now and still reach number 1
Due to the stupidity the world wants to hear he wouldn't survive musically but I appreciate Seal and I would love to hear from him more of it worked like that
@@PenGame Very true. Like most of the time trash is on trend. And great songs don't even stand any chances
@@PenGame I do feel like a good amount of us have had enough of the trash at this point. And most people would really push for "real music," to top the charts, for a fact I know a good amount of people who would jump on that train
One of the best songs ever written. If blissful ignorance creates this, I'll take it.
But it does work, Seal! It works. Not only does it work, but it's perhaps one of the greatest songs of all time. Thank you. 👏
I agree entirely 🙌
That it’s such a melding of genre (coupled with lyrics that draw you in) is exactly why does work.
He is really saying he did not know how he did that. In all these years I had not paid attention to the Baroque melodic elements or the fact that it's in 3/4 time. Genius.
Ah, your statement makes more sense to me now.
“Wrote it when I didn’t even know any better” love that!!
His perfect tone 😮
How this guy has not played a bad guy in a movie is unreal
So, what do you mean by that? 😂
The reason he hasnt is because seal is more of nicer guy ' if it were the case a James Bond movie where he plays a soft spoken villian thats a psychopath
Maybe because he’s a singer and not an actor
Micro agression
Why not a good guy ?...he IS quite a very good guy.
It's a song that's so amazing no one else has been able to do again
I listened to this song today on repeat! Still a classic!! ❤️
I play it all day ❤
It most certainly works! This song still gives me chills when I hear it. Simply beautiful.
I completely agree! After learning piano for the past couple of years, musically, the melodies and styles within the song are all over the place and you can easily create variations of it.
When creating music, sometimes the result is just "willed" out of nowhere.
I absolutely love it. Still play it today.
Same here
The more I learn about Seal the more I like. What a stand up guy! And an amazing song!
But it does work! You listen to it and it attacks your senses in such a pleasing manner with the pitch and melody changes are very soothing!
Sometimes things just fall into place and work together.
Well Seal, sir… when you think of earth the way it spins imperfectly and it gives us all of the four seasons in 365 days, i think you nailed all the four seasons eternally in this song… Naturally, it’s just a beautiful song.
Seal made the '90s, hands down. Literally, back when I was in middle school. You couldn't go anywhere without hearing a song from this guy or hear his name get mentioned by one of the teachers.
When the heart and mind are in harmony, innocence is present and there is purity of thought; brilliance happens.
It's that very madrigal quality and modern jazz soul that grabbed me the very first time i heard it.
For my opnion this is the Best song of Seal.
That and fly like an eagle
i basicly only know 3 or 4 songs of him but i dont even wanna know the rest tbh bc of how good this song is.. im just hooked
"Kiss From A Rose" from his second album is his best song but "Seal I" from 1991 was his best album. Play the whole record from beginning to end, it just flows.
@@coisasaquiwell, Human Beings is good but damn it's a downer lol
Trust me, Seal. It works. It’s one of my all time favorite songs.
His voice is so perfectly beautiful that I could hear the music during his little acapella moments.
What a beautiful combination in tones and love the words ! Still love that song !
just saw him in Atlanta!!!! AMAZING!!!!!
He broke down the mechanics of the song like a true artist. I replayed the part how he analyzed "Kiss from a Rose," and it's like a master class example in explaining your work as a creator. He expands on each element as part of a formula. Seal describing his own song as "blissful ignorance" shows just how serious he is as a performer. 👏
Masterpiece! 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Beautiful, simply beautiful.
And somehow it works beautifully
That moment where where he said "baby!!""my ❤ stopped
And that's why that song is so perfect. One of my favorites to this day.
I am obsessed with his masterpiece! Definitely a gift from the universe ❤️ Thank you Seal 🙏💕💐
Seal is so good!
90's Nostalgia, thanks for the back story to a favorite song
One of my favorite songs to this day
It's a beautiful creation, God bless you sir.
One of my absolute most favourite songs ever, Ever EVER!! ❤
Unbelievable even without singing just talking about the song he has a such a beautiful voice 😊
Best ever ! One of my favorite listen to it over and over as we decorated our tree for our new baby boy was on his way he just turned 28 april10th this Christmas I was prego with him we played this at his party ! Love this song soooo much
In an interview with Rick Beato he stated in a similar way, that this song kind of "happened" when he was testing his new Tascam.
Do musicians sometimes stumble over pieces, that turn out to be great somewhat later? Yes, more often than one would think and it's part of their talent.
YOOOO....I FUCKING LOVE SEAL!!!!
2023, im still listening to that song, almost everyday....(Philippines)
Nice wrap around vid about the song from Seal: Kiss From A Rose 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Beautiful is beautiful, it doesn't have to make sense
So true. No need to analyse.
Classic elements always go well when added right. That's simply what he did, ignorant or not, it was a hit. _"Bittersweet Symphony"_ is another song from around that time that should not have worked, by his logic on it, but was mixed well with electronic, rock, and light gospel elements. The mind and creativity behind it is what makes it work.
Deal has always been very critical about his own work. That's probably why his music works the way it does. CRAZY, if my favorite song. 😊
My all time favorite song !! "Kiss from a rose" I had to learn the lyrics which I do know now and sing along whenever I play it.
К Р А С А В Ч И К.❤
One of the best songs of all time. Love it
Seal. What are you talking about?? Kiss from a rose is one of the best songs ever produced. 👍👏 His voice and All the different elements in that song made it a masterpiece 👏👏👏
His fingernails .
He Likes painting them
His nails look disgusting.
Just imagine his toenails 🤮
Seal you are an absolute legend. Your songs still sound like nothing else out there. Its like a dream.
I think Seal has the best male singing voice I've ever heard in my lifetime
never listened to r. Kelly?
Still listen to it to this day
Everything he said is exactly why it worked. We were craving something so utterly fresh, creative and new to identify the 90s and Seal came through with not one, but two summer blockbuster song that defined 90s music
Everything that he says shouldn't work together is what made them so great the clashing of all the sounds but they come together so beautifully.
Love his humble attitude, genius speaking, and he wasn’t aware of it at the time!
Seal: **writes an absolute masterpiece**
Also Seal: "I didn't know any better"
Cmon man music is beyond putting in one box! Seal should know ART cannot be put into a box! Music is a fusion!
I would agree with your statement more. Music is Art and we are hearing the fusion of it all by the Artist.
It’s amazing how so many of our favorite artists who have so many songs that we love and enjoy originally didn’t want to do them, or don’t have the greatest recollection about them whether it’s making them how the idea came about recording them or any of that. fascinating.
Back in 97 I loved this tune and still listen to this day
Seal sitting in a gaming chair makes this even better.
I still listen to Kiss From A Rose on repeat sometimes. Transports me back to my 1st love in the 90's; it was one of our songs. It brings back some of the best memories & can still make me cry. I adore that song! 💖💝
Whether it "should" have worked or not, it most CERTAINLY did!!
Classic song by Seal!!
Also, Batman and Robin was and is an underrated movie!!
And those three elements are exactly why I love this song.
For me the ‘medieval’ chime makes this song everything
He is one of my favorite singers of all time.
I've had this song in my head for 4 days now. Didn't hear it recently either, but its there lol. I love this song to this day.
That’s the true beauty of creating. It comes from somewhere out of ourselves
I just say "Baby" the power and his clear and beautiful voice is amazing
Recently rediscovered this song. I forgot it existed for a little while, but it’s been stuck in my head recently.
I honestly didn’t know that Seal was British. You can’t tell when he sings. I think this song is absolutely beautiful and I listen to it as often as I can. ❤
And still it made it to the Batman soundtrack in 94. 👏👏👏
It’s one of my favorite songs! I’m still not 100 percent sure what it’s about, but I love the melody and vocals! Seal sang with such passion!
When he breaks it down like that I’m like “ohhh, it’s the fact that it worked makes it so remarkable.”
It’s the combination of all the different elements that make it work! I absolutely love this song!!
Fact is, it works, we all love it.
"Know any better" just means "knowing the traditions that man has invented"...never try to put rules on Art...it will cease to be Art.
One of my all time favorite songs
Literally just listened to the song and now got recommended this
The perfection in imperfection
It feel like it just goes on without a beginning or end and I love it
❤a beautiful written .... and perfect singing by Seal.....musical talent at its best❤
