Just a friendly comment. Honda states for you to NOT thread your dipstick in when checking the oil level. you just insert it in but don't thread it in, then pull it out and read the level.
Yes, this will be a bit underfilled.
Yep,,, Honda engines, you do not screw in the dipstick to check the oil, simply insert the stick till it bottoms out, without screwing in.

thanks, very useful tip
A friend of mine would constantly say "it is what it is". I got so annoyed one day and said, would you please stop with "it is what it is"?! He said, hey "it is what it is". j/k Thanks for the video!
your past experiences spilling oil made your awareness here a strong point (removing the dirty oil container away from the area very key) txs for sharing...
I did this too. Got busy in life and just ignored it. Mowed with my 2007 Honda mower for at least 5 years in the mid 2010s without even looking at the oil. When my son bought a home I gave it to him and bought a used 2016 model for $150. Both running strong today
Don’t screw it in when you check the oil. It makes a difference on the hinds mowers. Manual shows to set the dip stick in without screwing in 👍
Thanks for the video, I didn't realize how easy an oil change on a lawn mower was!
That's the good part right. I still need to do may airfilter 😅. Perhaps a video coming up this fall on that.
Nice shorts dude!
Not that bad for 5 years use. Well done, you're a good guy.
Thanks!!
Thanks for making this video ,
How often should we change oil ?
Welocme! Much sooner than I, lol. I'm sure once a season would be ideal, but as you see, you can get away with a couple of seasons, no problem. Thanks for watching, be sure to SUBSCRIBE!
“It is what it is” 😂

5 years??? C'mon man, it should be changed 2X a year. It only took about 10 minutes and about $5.99in oil!!! In warm climates you can use a straight 30 weight, and in cooler areas a 10W-30. No need to use a Honda branded oil, I'm sure Honda just rebrands another oil maker. Good deal on warming it up first, dredges all the crud from the bottom of the crank case and it drains quicker.
Lol, I know, shameful, really. But hey, it's a testimate to the quality of this machine, always started right up, never gave me problems. Maybe this Spring I will change the air filter. 😅☠️
@@SKLIFEstyle Oh No, don't do that, the old girl will have a heart attack!!!!
Oil change every 2 years is more than adequate for all my small engines. If very high hours then once a year.
@@mattwaters6987When should you do the spark plug?
@@INTELMAXELL my HONDA GCV 160 manual says replace every 2 years or 200 hours.
