It makes me so sad realizing that the reason Cuno hypes his dad up so much to be this ultra violent, unstoppable force is because from his perspective as a small child he really is. As adults we can see that his dad is really harmless and weak, but to a tiny, most likely under fed and neglected 12 year old, of course by comparison this man does feel gigantic to him, because it's easy to feel strong when you're beating up a child
You’re absolutely right, it has so many saddening comparisons which can be applied to the real world. When you fully explore Cuno and Cunoesse’s story it’s nothing short of tragic, and the biggest indication of just how broken society has become in Martinaise.
@@Duzykutas I think it’s important to keep in mind what purpose Cuno’s dad serves in the narrative of the game. The devs very intentionally gave us lots of hype from Cuno around encountering Cuno’s dad, and then very intentionally flipped the script and had him asleep for the whole game. Sure we can infer that he’s probably an asshole to everyone when he’s awake, regardless of whether they’re an adult or child, but that’s not the point I’m getting at. Cuno’s dad doesn’t exist to pose a threat to the main character or really any other characters, he exists to provide context for and to flesh out Cuno’s character. He exists to give a full look at Cuno’s terrible home life, explaining why this initially two dimensional asshole bully of a kid acts the way he does
This fear of Cunoesse even shows up when you ended up with Cuno after the tribunal. Not only does he had terrible dreams of her but when asked about her, he just want move on from the topic with Composure saying that he's got a look of someone that looks over his shoulder for the rest of his life. The closest thing he has to a friend becomes his fear.
Actually, almost none of the names are pronounced correctly in this game lol (maybe the French ones, I don’t know for sure) so might as well do it originally like Half Light. Kim actually came the closest to Dutch with his Klaasje pronunciation at one point
23:52 I really wanted to see what would happen if you tried that interfacing check without the cutters Is it a forced failure or can Harry just pull off some wizard shit with his bare hands?
I’d say more likely to be a reference to the original cyberpunk board game if anything as this game predates the CP2077 by a few years, and is steeped in board game references 👍
@@The41stPrecinctIt even predates the tabletop, because that is actually based on the novel Neuromancer by William Gibson. He basically invented cyberpunk as the genre we know now. It is a good read if you like the genre. Things like street samurais, cyberspace, the dystopic neon aesthetic etc, all originate there, which is crazy considering the book came out early/mid eighties or so

fuckin love how so many stats chime in about the best way to deal with cunos dad, then it just turns out he's damn near catatonic.

You dont know that his dad is harmless. He could be a psychopath bullying adults as well. Just because he's sleeping he appears harmless.

I love how salty hand/eye coordination is at 20:48, that Harry lost the gun. 😂

Cunoesse is definitely the scariest character in the game.

I like how Half-Light pronounces "de Ruyter".

Darth half light: Kill him kill him now. Dew it

Haha sorry I should’ve done it, sometimes it’s hard to break the habit of doing things normally.
you can tear it off with your bare hands
You can get it off with your bare hands and interfacing will comment on how mad that was lol
is night city a nod towards cyber punk 2077?
