  • This year will be my 1st year living in the van full time during winter, I need to plan for the cold months coming and living with Achalasia ( Achalasia is a rare disorder of the food pipe (oesophagus), which can make it difficult to swallow food and drink.) is gonna be hard so i need to plan.
My name is Sean, i have been living Full Time Van Life in the Sprinter van again for around 3 months now.
I started this lifestyle because of my 20 year broken relationship.
Ive started to put my life back together and build for a future. I have turned my original van into a badass camper van that is lifted with all the toys. Over the years ive converted a Standard V6 long wheel base van to now, living fulltime in a jacked up van with Siri and Alexa as my companions and driving off-grid into the country and living life and moving forward .
I would like to thank all the new subscribers and a personal thank you for all your lovely comments and wishes. The sprinter has all sorts tucked inside and links below may help you in your van life adventures.

Mate don’t over think it as there are so many van dwellers that have nothing like your set up and are perfectly fine.
Bobble hat keeps you feeling toasty 👍🚐

if you get a single gas hob large. Then buy a clay garden pot. Turn the pot upside down on the hob. It will give you all the heat you need.

Great video mate and thank you.. I have been thinking of doing the van life myself to escape (suffering through domestic abuse -and being a man admitting it with a fear no terror!!of what and how to cope) seeing how much space you have and I feel a beautiful vibe coming from you!! I have medical conditions that worry me of how to make it work with but you have made me think to a future with some hope ❣️❣️ bless you

      @ProjectCamper  8 місяців тому +2

Hay Kevinallman, 1st off I completely understand your wanting to escape and please just look after yourself, you are the most important person in your life, remember it is your life and no one else’s, abuse is something nobody should put up with period. The stress of dealing with it drags you down and will have a effect on your mental and physical health. Think of you and give yourself a goal. The freedom van life gives, even if you work part or full time or are even unemployed, living in a permanent box looking at four walls that possibly remind you of bad experiences is not good for you, van life is tough especially if you van or motorhome has a problem it grinds you down, and unfortunately there’s no perfect reliable vehicle, just regular service and any mot advisories done to keep your vehicle safe and fit for living mobile. Waking up with a different view and being with like minded people is great for wellbeing, some days are boring, but then you have the opportunity to move. Thank you for your fantastic comment and I wish you all the very best 👊👊

This will be our 5th winter in our van ..... get some fairy lights rather than using those spots charge stuff when your moving get a decent duvet for your bed that makes a huge difference.... hot water bottles are a godsend and slippers soup is better than those noodle things for energy and protein..... fleece blankets are brilliant too .... I thoughts you'd always beem fulltime

🙋‍♀️ How to stay warm : get a thicker rug on the floor, wear a hat, if you sleep in a bag, then buy a duvet (10 tog?) and slip it inside the bag, folded over and sleep in between . You need warmth under you as well as over. Always wear sox. Keep heater on low, but crack window for ventilation. Go for a run. Drink COOL drinks which helps the body warm up - hot drinks cool the body down. I would keep the 5kw heater, you can always turn it down but can't turn a 2kw up any more than 2kw ‼️
Jackery recently had a sale on, don't know it it's still on, but the 1000 was reduced to about £475/500 - usually over a grand - keep looking at them all and buy in the sale 👍 I too have circulation problem with extremities, it's a common problem, especially in winter obviously 🙄🙄
Yes the Cathedral light show was super. Take care, stay warm ♨️

Had a 5kw in a 2 bed static caravan for 4/5 years and was perfect for that so went with the 2kw in my build and so far the last week or so as it’s got colder it has been perfect on the lowest setting

Coming in to my first winter myself too, I managed to grab a 2kw heater off ebay a couple of weeks ago and so glad I did as I have the roof hatch open most of the time when it's on, I'll swap it over for a 5kw if I need to as it gets colder. Every day is learning & adapting experience, I've started keeping a daily track of amps in and amps used being frugal the last couple of weeks to get a rough idea on my power shortfall it's surprising how little you can get away with. Little tip, when you're cooking, washing up or making a brew have a little fan blowing the steam towards the roof hatch, humidity is our enemy

I think the 2kw heater is a must but quite frankly all this electric powered cooking is very overrated (in the uk anyway) Lpg cooking 7.5kg safefill lasts me ages 200ah lithium for my 2kw few lights fridge & of course all the victron gear also, Sean your a veteran buddy chin up mate

I agree, with one exception, the 2kw and 5kw are basically the same unit with different “tuning”……a 5 kw will use less battery as it doesn’t need to rev as high as the 2kw.

@@richardsracingmad no buddy there different sizes my 2kw is much smaller then the 5kw
you have to be careful because they sell 5kw as 2kw but with what you say programmed to run like the 2kw
A true 2kw will actually be a lot smaller 👍

@@richardsracingmad because the units themselves are smaller the fins are a lot less meaning the heat is more manageable on minimum where as the 5kw even on minimum is far to hot for a van, I’m running a 2kw & is far more comfortable on lowest settings
Where as the much larger 5kw with the larger fins on low still feels like mine on mid to high
Iv changed the settings to Match the 2kw & still is far to hot because of the size of the fins mate

UK vanlife is a bitch come winter. I ent got a fitted heater in this van yet and one of the girls hear in Scotland is giving me her heated blanket as she don't need it in her new van. Says it hardly uses any power at all. Maybe look into one. Also staying near the coast is lots better as never gets as cold over night. 7° warmer than inland hear the other night. Take Care Sean. Big Hugs Buddy 🙏

It is pivotal to stay warm during winter. I was thinking about some sort of wood burning hearsource, cost a lot at first, around about 600 pond, but it gives you this cozy, comfortable, heat source you are looking for. Flip side of it is, you have to have the room for it and chuck a chimney in somewhere. An easier way is to have something like a buddy heater, put a plug, I think, in an ecoflow and your heat source is sorted. The other thing, but that is something which just got in my mind as a joke, is to set the van on fire. 😂. I think you will be warm, how long that takes?..... Anyway, jokes aside, a buddy heater seems the best option and way cheaper than everything else. With love from the Netherlands! Jerome (real name in French)
