    This has to be the most beautiful color combination I've seen. Gorgeous.

    I love your work and your videos- you're a very good teacher! I just started playing on the gel plate and it's so much fun, especially after watching you. I think your collages are stunning and want to try that as well. Thank-you for all you do to help us learn and grow!!!

    I’m so glad you only lightly blended the yellow and orange. I like background colors that are mottled instead of a solid color. BTW I love your stencils. Can’t wait to get some from the peacock series!

      @@ElizabethStHilaire thank you. I've been teaching at several local retirement communities for the past 5 years. They are the most wonderful students!!! I recently taught them about art journaling and they loved it so much they wanted more creative ideas!! Found out they had a LARGE stash of brand new gel plates that weren't even being used...we are now!!! LOL!!! Next, collage!!

    It's fascinating how different the outcome on the paper is....after drying the paper glows in a way that pulling from one side alone does. I used the pad you recommend on your amazon page with one smooth side that I am assuming is sized....anxious to try the rice roll that is unsized totally.

    Just wondering could you do the same process on fabric??? Like an all cotton…. After washing it.. quilters fabric..

  • @ElleCoyote

    Could this be done with regular rice paper? Printing on the smooth shiny side, then soaking color in from the back? Or would the sizing prevent the color from coming through?

    • @ElizabethStHilaire
      @ElizabethStHilaire  3 роки тому +1

      Give it a try! Yes, I think it works fine.

      I like this roll because it tears very organically and is semi translucent. Do not use very thin rice paper, it will tear with all the water. use the pad on my Amazon list.

    Is there any other way of purchasing these please? X

    Great technique! What side of the sushigami paper do you use on the gel plate, the “shiny” one or the “fuzzy” one?

    • @ElizabethStHilaire

      Always smooth side down but the one in that oversized roll is not sized, or smooth, on either side
