Oh I loved this one. It's way too common in storytelling for opposition to be painted in an overly negative light. So seeing a character that opposes the main stances the audience is meant to buy into without resorting to making them cartoonishly evil or just a stupid asshole is refreshing.
Yep. Veln's voters have valid concerns. Imagine if Xenomorphs landed on Earth and in less than a year our whole society seems to revolve around them. Even if they're nice Xenomorphs, I can absolutely see people thinking things are going too quickly.
He's still a classic populist though. Literally nothing he said holds any substance if put under closer scruitiny. It's just fearmongering and playing to other, lower sentiments held by people who feel left behind by Tarva's policies. But ultimately: Her decision to give humanity a chance caused a major recession so her campaign is already in tough waters.
@@Exodon2020 1) That is a rather loaded position... Youve cast populism in a negative, despite it being a rather positive political stance. It emphasises the will of the people. 2) He has a valid point that introducing foreign and different culture in bulk can have unforeseen consequences, thus leading to the wariness. 3) Fearmongering and genuine concern for the worries of your nations people are very similar... you do not have concern without a bit of fear. That does not make the concern any less valid though, nor should it be ignored or outright rejected. Ultimately Id say he has legitimate, reasonable points without being deceitful. Points that any politician who cares about his people would have in this situation.
@@Atom_X. Lol, Populism literally means telling people what they want to hear to gain power, then do nothing to improve the situation because shocker: Your proposed easy solutions to complex problems do not work and instead resort to media manipulation to divert the peoples' ire to others in order to stay in power regardless of your failure... Also, haven't you paid attention to this story so far at all?!
Frankly im surprised that both sides have sound and reasonable arguments. Veln's stance is essentially an Independent Republic! Meanwhile Tarva wants a Strong Republic. Both have their pros and cons. I like that very much honestly. Smart move Space Paladin!
Tarva is just such an impressive figure in all of this. Its always a pleasure when she gets a good amount of dialog cause it just reminds you how much better things could be between the greater galaxy and humanity. Hell of a job narrating as always Adastra!
They keep it hidden from the public - and for good reasons. Both are technically out of line for pursuing a relationship. Not for the whole interspecies thing which isn't unheard of in this universe but rather the obvious conflict of interest that would emerge if Earth and Venlil Prime would ever clash over political differences. I'm wondering who spilled the beans though. Must be someone from within Tarva's closest circle.
Id like to hear more about the relationship between Noah and Tarva. It feels like so much needs to be said and both parties are dont yet now how to express it.
how i would like to calmly and frighteningly tell veln.."thing about humans bonding with others...nobody fucks with our friends and lives to tell the tale. and that goes for the entirity of venlil."
It seems the Venlil do not have the ability to give emergency powers to their government leaders in times of war but instead there are election campaigns. It’s pretty cool to think about where their politics stand
If Veln did not have solid counter arguments this eposode could have been an e-mail. However it wasn't because now it essentially functions to make the venlil a people rather than a blok, where it is clear everyone can have a reasonable and developed opinion without them being alligned with eachother
Well, what Arxur are we talking about? Rebels? Most likely UN rations of synthetic meat. Dominion? They still have farms, so probably slaves but at a consumption rate that will deplete their reserves if they don't raid sooner or later.

You're both right.

best narrating ever
F* they both have good points, I don't know for whom I should vote.
Oh but I'm a predator so I'd probably should vote for Tarva.
Love that They made Tarva into as much of a liar as any politician. Great stuff 👍

I like Veln as a character. He's a great fence sitting politician

Like, i'll listen too it later (no time now)
Let's go Tarva!
Why do debates set me on edge? Sigh. Why am I so anxious with this?
👍👍
Hey guys? It's been months since the last time we heard about an Arxur raid.. what are they eating rn?
Starving probably
Good point 🤔

Corpse Starch
Rebels are eating UN synthetic meat. Dominion? They still have their "farms," so probably whoever they still have shackled in cages.
❤
For the UA-cam algorithm
Ngl, if I was a Venlil I would vote for Veln... But as a humant I would vote for Tarva... Dam this is hard to choose 😅
Ye🎉
Yeah 🎉
Argh again politics, sometimes I think we as humanity should program a Computer to govern us.
TARVA MY girl
thank you
