It’s been a long time coming but I’ve FINALLY finished one of my many mashups with Dreamcatcher in it. I’ve really loved this group for some time now but I’ve been conflicted with making mashups because a lot of the time it’s hard to make it sound clean because the song is so dependant on the instrumental. I’ve been trying different things to make something work with Dreamcatcher, but finally I realized this is probably the cleanest a mashup with their music is going to get (for me anyway). I probably could have chosen another song with an official instrumental instead of Dramarama but honestly I really liked how these songs fit and it’s not the worst of my ideas. So sorry for the noise but also I hope it doesn’t hurt..
As you may see from the video I probably spent WAY too much time editing this and idk what I was trying to do with ‘animation’ (can I even call it that?) but I got a bit carried away… but it was fun so I hope you can watch the video too especially and see. I tried to make some sort of story line with the video but I’m not entirely sure if it translated well from my mind to youtube...anyway I guess I’ll know based on your responses. :) if it’s super not obvious, I’ll give you a hint...you can also call this mashup ‘Dramarama of Y(oohyeon)OU and I(.M)’ ;)
...I’ll see myself out for that terrible pun.
Lastly, I realized I’ve been making so many Monsta X mashups lately so to spice things up a bit I’ll probably stop with my spree (for now) As much as I love them I know it’s good to have change too :))

JEM I feel like the noise was fine! Dreamcatcher generally has more noise in their songs with all the percussion n stuff so I feel like the amount of noise was fitting! Good night from me!~

Theory Time:
Monsta X and Dreamcatcher are a part of two different worlds. Monsta X are normal while Dreamcatcher are hunters of the supernatural. I.M is both being haunted by an evil entity of Dreamcatcher's world. I.M meets Yoohyeon and they (maybe, not sure) fall in love. Yoohyeon saves him but is now trapped in the entity's realm. Monsta X and Dreamcatcher team up to save her but they fail. Yoohyeon is forever trapped in the realm by herself😞😞😞

I was thinking the same thing with the two worlds and Monsta X being normal while Dreamcatcher is more supernatural. and then monsta x and dreamcatcher teaming up in some way but I don't know exactly how xD this was so sad though, like Netune said.

You could say that now Yoohyeon is- Lost in the Dream from Which a Star like the girl can never Wake Up from. And now MonstaX and Dreamcatcher are caught up in a Dramarama that even If You call out Mayday, you can’t escape without at least a Scar.
I tried to slip in more mx songs but I’m more familliar with dc😅
Monsta X = sci fi's genre
Dreamcatcher = fantasy's genre
It can be a good story for anime :v

They definitely are! It's easier to make remixes rather than mix too songs because I always want to include both instrumentals, but it's hard to find ones that complement Dreamcatcher's~ Thanks a lot for watching!!! :)
Dreamcatcher is really amazing and unique. All their song awesome unique and sounds so damn good and addicting to hear
My Theory:
Yoohyeon is a witch girl who lives in another universe .In this Universe she finds a magic Mirror where she can look into the human world. In the mirror she sees a young boy (IM) and falls in love with him.
Although it’s forbidden she is using the mirror to sneak into IM´s dreams to make him also obsessed with her.
At first IM is afraid of her and he tries not to sleep (to run away from her)
But she tells him: Even if you ran like crazy you are stuck with me in this place. So he gives up
IM wakes up in his dream confused: Why is my heart spinning? (Her spell starts working)
“Is this a daydream? No I’m dreaming. This place looks so familiar (This dazzling welcome, this sweet illusion)
Every day the girl stand for the mirror talking in IMs head: Softly fall asleep so you can be next to me
After a few dreams the spell gets stronger. IM is also obsessed with her and won’t let her go when he wakes up
He tells her: Let me open my eyes with you in my arms.
But she refused: If you want to be with me forever hold my hand forever you must sleep forever (to die)
And he replies: If it’s all you, yes I do (he wants to sleep forever).
When IM is awake he can only hear her voice: Open your eyes
Hold my hand, every day. Now be with me. Baby you and I.
He can’t figure out the ending of his suffering not to be with her (his dramarama)
Also his world looks strange unfamiliar to him other people have cold eyes only she is real.
IM is going crazy he can’t live without her. With a bouquet in his hands he´s stepping on a roof to kill himself. ( How long have I waited for this moment? I’m telling myself it’s time to stop)
“This scene is going towards the end. Now it makes sense. To make you mine
Why ask what’s so obvious? However the wind blows
You just need to come to me, pull up”
Yoohyeon in IM´s head: Endlessly in the sky I’ll be a bright light always like in your dreams.
IM: “Come closer” he jumps.
OMG! I never expected to get this type of long theory but it was so interesting to read like a story. I especially love how you based it on the lyrics though and it actually fits really well from the words. :) but WOW that took a dark turn towards the end! poor I.M.... (I thought it was also cool how Yoohyeon is sort of evil in your story while I never pictured her 'character' like that while I was making, but it definitely works!!)

It sounds like a rock version of Dramarama 😍😍😍
When monsta x realizes they can hop between realms to travel through time, they believe the only people affected are them. But they're wrong. With each realm they hop through, a evil entity can tear a bigger hole.
Dreamcatcher is also lost in that realm, their job is to never let it get to the real world. They were trapped here so long ago. But despite their efforts it escapes, so they have to make it to the real world themselves and go to monsta x and tell them how to destroy it.
But the rift closes, and what happens to the entity, monsta x, and dreamcatcher is up to fate

WOW! Tbh, I was a bit skeptical about this mashup because both songs have different vibes, but you ended matching them together so well! I really love how those rap parts sound!!! Also, the MVs match so well together (tho I didn't follow the storyline you wanted to show haha sorry ^^') but anyway this mashup was really great!!!
:D:D thank you so much!! the rap part is one of my favourites after adding in the Full Moon instrumental. haha LOL the storyline can apparently be interpreted very differently but it's just a bunch of different clips and you have to imagine the connection but it's okay if you didn't see it because it's probably not enough pieces to make sense. Transitions? On point. Visuals? Amazing. I'm? So in love!! As for the mashup, all I can say is that it's really solid and it flows really well! ++2:21 where mx rap turns into soft dream catcher and then a bridge-y part is SUCH a masterpiece! I love it when songs go from hard to soft in a few seconds omg
Editing?? LOVED it so much!! The green/red dark colour scheme that contrasted with the white/blue light colour scheme at the end was so amazing 😍 the overlaps+that one scene where yoohyeon is on the screen that i.m. is looking at? Art. (The scene with yoohyeon and im was so good!! It looked real ngl)
I'm so happy you did a mashup with dreamcatcher I only know their title tracks but I love all of them so I'm hoping to listen to their other songs too! Their songs are usually more supernatural so my theory for this one? Some kind of supernatural/horror/epic/action/drama theme about a girl who is supernatural/deals with supernatural and a guy who wants to help her out (like a sidekick!) + probably smth about escape because of the end and how there was a portal and mx was running and it was all white? But then that girl didn't make it through the portal so it was bittersweet kind of?
I'm so in love with this mashup and it has got to be one of my favourites for sure!! As always, take care 💚

yesss you definitely should! their music is SO good and if you like their titles I'm sure you'll like their others (there aren't that many others though :D) but their Intros which are just instrumentals are SOOOO beautiful!!
hehe I love hearing your theories. I was thinking the same thing about the girl being supernatural and the guy helping her. I realized that the clips could be interpreted in so many ways so it's interesting to see others' take on it and how it may be similar or different to my own :D (I was thinking the same thing with the portal too and yeah she may or may not have gotten through but I guess we never knowwwww :o)

Yeah I made the thumbnail myself on Photoshop (I used to own it but it was too expensive to keep up for so long, so I recently just got the trial last week to make the thumbnail) Thank you though :) I learned photoshop for the first time like 5 years ago but I've really missed using it - it's really fun though if you can get it and try it out! but if you can't afford it there are other (free) applications like Gimp or Krita that work as well~

Ahh good eye! I think I did have a bit more patience with the video editing this time so I got a bit creative at some parts :) I love Dreamcatcher's instrumentals so much but they're also why you can't mash it up with just any other song because it's so unique. I'm glad you thought the instrumentals linked well though because I was worried they wouldn't~
JEM it's great when that creative streak and patience with editing software etc go hand in hand 😃 it's produced a really fantastic result.
I think one of the reasons dramarama inst works alongside you and i inst is because dramarama uses band instruments too. I've never mixed a dreamcatcher inst with a non dreamcatcher inst yet but tbh this is inspiring me to want to try it even though I'd previously thought it wouldn't work! Just need to find the right matches. Anyway, well done again!
Yeah it took me so long to even come up with this! I've been trying since last year to mix dreamcatcher. xD I would like to fix some parts in this still but it's not tearing me apart just yet...:) Hope you are able to think of something!

Wouldn’t it be so amazing if a co-ed group with Dreamcatcher’s concept debuts and tells a supernatural story in their music videos. I really miss kpop’s old story based series kinda music videos it was so fun to wait for and watch it. I hope a group does something like that again but more supernatural

Oh! I forgot to thank you for introducing me to Dreamcatcher. I ended up adding 'You and I' to my favorites list right away.
:) aww yeah I guess it's pretty good I spend my free time doing harmless things like mashups, it's really great to be able to do what you enjoy though which is a luxury a lot of people don't have.
And that made me sooo excited to hear - I really feel the happiest when I can introduce new groups to people~ I would totally recommend listening to all their other music too! (it's not a lot, but it's all amazing) my favourite I think is Full Moon for a while now and they also did a few covers that were really awesome too (esp. loved their covers of Havana and Lucky Strike!) but I hope you continue to know them more because they're such an awesome and talented group ^^
Okay, my mind is a very messy place atm so I'm just doing this as a bulleted list:
- As soon as Full Moon started, I knew I'd love it and I did!
- I really enjoy their more dirty/rock take on Havana. Plus, the fact that they went all out for both covers I saw is amazing.
- I just finished watching 'Chase Me' and I am officially loving the group. The fact that they're really exploring this eerie concept makes me so happy. Can't wait to watch more of their stuff!
-This is honestly the first girl group I've felt *so* drawn toward and I'm excited about it! Feels similar to the first time I heard Monsta X. I ended up going down a crazy rabbit hole and watching a ridiculous number of their videos all in one go. Hah. :)

That's awesome I love that you're getting into Dreamcatcher! It took me a while to learn their names though because I got into them very slowly. I think also it was one of the only girl groups I really care about getting to know which made me really excited at the same time because they're really cool people (or at least from what I've seen). I really think the dark concept drew me to them but it's not overly..."try-hard" dark which I feel a lot of groups (both boys and girls) do. They do their songs and concepts so well. :)
I still have a lot to learn about the group but I hope you continue to enjoy getting into Dreamcatcher like I am!

Yeah I would think there would be a lot more than there actually is but hopefully they will get the recognition they deserve!
